>using magic to cure diseases, heal wounds, elongate lifespans unnaturally, and resurrect the fallen has drawn the ire of the gods of nature, disease, and death (among others)
>these gods create Paladins of their own with the purpose of stopping these acts and justly bring disease and death upon those who deserve it
Would such a character be of evil alignment?
Would druids aid these characters in their effort?
Could good aligned characters - especially Paladins - justifiably raise their weapons against such a character?
Why is screwing with the natural order considered a good deed?
>>49999960
Good is what the good gods say is good, dingus. Just shut up and smite.
>>49999960
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Prolonging life and ending suffering is a Good act. Unjustifiably ending life and spreading suffering is an Evil act. Even though diseases, animals, and death are unaligned, to deliberately bring it about just so it exists is an evil act.

I don't know, should've spend all our resources on mass-producing Castellax, Ursax and other Automata instead of Astartes, far less likely to ruin everything because of daddy issues.
I mean, the Emperor was just looking for robots to follow his objectively perfect grand-scheme, right? Should've come to the Magi instead of trusting his own, inefficient, miscategorised genechildren.

You're aware that violence is just a natural part of the human life and thus not something that you should be disgusted by.
>>49983646
Why? Are you trying to be contrarian? Contrarians don't get invited back to games.
So the other day i was browsing warhammer 40k stuff at the game shop with some friend and ended up on a page talking about the Battle Sisters. I was just reading it when one of my friends complained about female armor in fiction and how it is often sexualized in unrealistic ways.
that was when another one of my friends perked up and came up with a decent reason as to why they would appear the way they do. his points were as follows:
1) the breast plates dont actually contain the sisters boobs. they are just ornamental and that under them is armor which is actually covering the womans chest. the reason they have them is more for showing off that they are the Daughters of the Emperor.
2) anything that the armor cant stop is going through the armor either way and odds are it will kill them even with a glancing blow. with the weapons used in the setting deflected shots arent really a thing to the sisters as anything their armor could deflect probably couldnt penetrate it.
3) most of the sexualizing is faked by the Imperium. as has been made some what clear is that stuff is often edited by the Imperium before hand to make them look better. (a somewhat reasonable way to excuse inconsistencies in the lore) in this case the images depicting the sisters is sexed up to make them look better when in reality they probably just look like female guardsmen in power armor. so they are sexed up to make them stand out.
i kind of like this argument and was wondering what you guys think?
>>49970576
The core problem most people have with the boob armor outside of "sexism" is the fact that it funnels impact force into the center of the chest, unlike a standard cuirass. In this regard the "kill you anyways" theory holds the most ground.
Real reason they look like that in a meta sense IS to be somewhat sexual. Warhammer has always placed looking badass over looking sexual, unlike something like, say, Warcraft, so it's not a dramatic move, but it still is there to make the statement "These are female, they are defined in part by their being all-female".
One fun theory I've always liked is that the boobs on Sisters armor only contains the breasts of particularly busty Sisters, while most of them use it as a storage space akin to how women store chapstick and money in their bras.
>>49970667
>akin to how women store chapstick and money in their bras
Only high schoolers, poorfags, and trashy sluts do that.
It's about as trashy as a guy using the front of his jeans as a gun holster.

THREAD QUESTION
>Do you like playable monster races? Where do you draw the line?
>>49969903
I barely like having demi-humans at all these days. But when I do I see no reason not to have a few monster races that would be reasonable to have walking around. But I prefer human-centric stuff with other races being particularly exotic in thought process and culture, and they would be hard to roleplay for my players in particular who are often dense.
>>49969087
1. Look up detect magic's "Cinematic Fighting". Has some stuff about letting fights escalate when people miss. Missing becomes dangerous in itself.
2. Talk to your players, tell them the rules of your game. Stuff you put there are meant to be (catiously) interacted with.
I love playable monster races. I like to reskin the base classes into new ones, often demi-humans. Like this Kenku for LotFP.
That said, I also prefer a more DCC approach to things and like my games a bit gonzo. As much as I love LotFP's macabre vibe, it's hard for me to personally pull off effectively at the table. The more I play lately, the more I want to go back to DCC.
How to play :
Post some character art.
Then replies try to make a backstory for the character.

Chong Sheng was born of abnormal circumstances, even among constructs. Most are built to serve their masters as creatures with full knowledge and acceptence of their place in the universe; Chong was merely the residual of a mad experiment.
When the beloved Great Emperor of Shina, Chen Ku, was struck down by an assassin's blade on the day of his wedding, the Empire began a downward spiral into fragmentation, chaos, and infighting.
In an effort to stave of the fall of their proud empire, the greatest minds of the land, philosophers, scholars, monks and holy men came together to find or make an heir worthy to sit upon the Jade Dragon's throne.
However, the bickering of the land's many nobles continued to tear the country at such a rate, that it was deemed impossible to find a suitable candidate for emperorship from the populace in time. It was then that this committee of genius's surmised, that the only people who could be capable of bringing order back to the Empire were it's previous leaders.
Invoking a combination of the oldest and most sacred of hidden rituals, The committee intended to summon the bygone souls of Shino's greatest generals, scholars, and leaders, including the recently deceased Chen Ku himself, into a specialized construct. Nothing like this had ever been attempted before, and were to meeting not kept secret from the populace to prevent it from reaching unfriendly ears, it would have been hailed as the most ambitious undertaking of Century of the Dung Beetle.
But the result of all thier work was found to be quite lacking. The Automaton was found to behave no differently than it had before, and thinking that they had failed, the Shino's finest minds discarded the result of the failed experiment and turned else.
>>49959855
Cont.
But the Constructs story did not end with it being recycled into a flower pot on some landlords windowsill. Although it had no purpose nor instructions to guide, The Memories and experiences of Shina's greatest leaders were more than sufficient to escape the recycling plant
However, escaping destruction only brought the construct more trouble, as it had no directive or master to follow. To add to it's problems, it was plagued with memories and feelings of events that it was never present for and it was all presented in an in comprehensible manner-downright illlgical even. The Only thing that the contruct's mind could make sense of was on word that the committee had repeated endlessly
"Chongsheng"
And so, his head full of answers to questions he couldn't even begin to comprehend, the Construct set out on a journey of under standing.
Phew that was long

Alright boys. All of the cards are on the table. Final verdict: should four-colors have been brought back or would it have been better just being the Nephilim?
Thinking of picking up Atraxa's list and turning it into Ghave as I don't have much of a physical collection and some of the reprints are sweet (Scooze, Reveillark, Kalonian Hydra, Murmuring Bosk). Should I?
How often is this done? the most obvious place would be in stone age game, Though I don't see any reason they can't be in more advanced fantasy settings.

what was the point of this post
are you a fucking randomfact website
sage
this is my favorite traditional game
Do you think plasma weapons have a future in 40k as they are ? Basic dudes that carry them are getting cheaper and cheaper at this point you can buy a second Marine for their cost, or what, like two Fire Warriors ?
A plasma gun in the team has a chance of killing the user, wasting the points you paid for him and for the gun as no one else can pick it up for some reason. Meanwhile a second Marine adds a bolter, a wound, an attack and so on to the squad. Sure, it can damage some things that the other models can't hurt, but should you use that squad to attack that target in the first place if that's the case ? Hurrah, you shot at that Monstrous Creature with one S7 shot, but now the other 4-9 Marines are just staring at it and trying to plink away with their bolters when they could've been doing something they're good at while the thing that required the attention of your plasma gunner could have been just shot at by something that's dedicated to hunt such targets and gets better weapons base for less points.
What could they do to save plasma and other similar weapons from being a waste in a squad ? Give all models that pick a special or heavy weapon split fire ? Go back to selecting which model dies to represent someone picking up that damn ancient artefact ? Make it Assault like the meltagun so that the unit at least can do something after shooting it ?
Assault and split fire would be a good start. Cannons being Large Blast would make them usable. Gets Hot! should only happen when rapid firing.
>>49988140
>bolters
>something they're good at
Surely you jest anon. Bolters are good at nothingunless you have specialist ammo or are Raptors
But a couple things
>Make it you can replace basic models with the Specialist if the Specialist were to die.
>Imperium (and CSM) get a second profile S4 AP2 to their weapons
>Plasma Pistols, instead of counting as a CC weapon allow the user to make 1 additional attack in CC using the weapons shooting profile
>Nerf Gravweaponry to be Imperium's Anti-Monster. This will mean Flamers are for hordes, Melta for vehicles, Grav for monsters, Plasma being the Generalist.
>>49988291
I like that idea!
What if (just throwing out an alternative here) plasma guns were made more powerful, but the gets hot rule only applies if you fire it for two turns in a row, getting more dangerous each consecutive turn you fire it?
How does a martial fight a dragon of this size without the dragon resorting to stupid vidjya attack cycles? It can fly and breathe fire. It knocks down buildings just by swinging its claw, but somehow every RPG expects a guy with a sword to be able to kill this thing?

>Countess Bitchface finally gets sick of the bullshit and just sends her knights to "arrest" us for crimes that we wern't even around to commit.
>Everyone in the party knows we're innocent, know we're probably not getting a trial, probably going to be executed or something... so of course we're like "fuck this" and start fighting Bitchface's knights as we attempt to get the fuck out of her city.
>All of us except the party sorcerer... who literally let himself get arrested without a fight, tried to keep the rest of us from resisting, and then seemed legitimately surprised when he got hauled off to Bitchface's secret torture dungeon to be part of a demonic sacrifice ritual instead of being given a fair trial.
>Mind so blown I legitimately ask the player what he was thinking after the game.
>Player literally hadn't pieced any of the clues together, thought Countess Bitchface was still our ally, and thought the entire situation was all a misunderstanding that could totally be cleared up by just talking to the person trying to have us killed.
>Literally the player, not his character, the player himself hadn't figured this out.
It's not even like he wasn't paying attention either. He was literally one of the best roleplayers in the group and super-invested in the plot...

No, the player hadn't figured it out, and thus his character hadn't figured it. While the rest of us were running away from guys who wanted to kill us, he was standing there like "Hey guys, I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding! You're making it worse by fighting, stop!"
