Beeple-beep beep! How exactly is human life the cheapest resource in the Imperium?
In the here and now, the life of a soldier is estimated to be in the millions, and with thousands of planets to colonize (with plenty of natural resources), wouldn't human lives be relatively more important, not less?
>>50375397

>In the here and now, the life of a soldier is estimated to be in the millions
The lives of western soldiers.
There's a lot of soldiers who have basically no training and are told to grab a gun, and start shooting at the enemy. That's the PDF.
It's only expensive if you use money training them and feeding them and paying them, and giving them medical care and protection, instead of executing them if they step out of line or say the wrong thing.
>>50375428
The PDF are still usually on a similar level to what you might find in a modern army. It's just that the imperial guard are the best of the best of the best.

click orc team rosters, generally being orcs you don't need 12 players and especially with a starting roster that 3rd reroll is much better than the 12th man, it's not a bad idea to pickup a 12th man but remember that rerolls are more expensive after team creation

I have no idea how this game is still around. I never see anyone talk about it or play it in real life and hardly ever hear mention of it online.
But, they must be getting money from somewhere if they are still coming out with new minis.
>>50395989
Yeah, I picked up two factions so I can do some demo games with my local group.
The quality of the minis are what pulled me in. people They keep putting out new factions and resulting the old ones, so someone must be buying.

What's the difference between Altar of War, Eternal War, Maelstrom of War, and Echos of War mission types? What other mission types are there?
So I've heard around1d4chanthat there is an easy way to speed paint necron warriors and I was looking to see if anyone knows a little more detail to the method?
It's supposed to be Prime / Dip / Detail
But how exactly does a dip work? Which paint do I buy? Is it the washes? I'm completely new to painting, and I just wanted to start with something easy so I can at least have a few points to play with at my new FLGS. (Been playing with friends for a while, unpainted)

Last week, there was a thread about the medieval equivalent of the Americas, which evolved into a worldbuilding discussion around a fantasy medieval version of South America, with countries and races loosely based on the political landscape of the 19th century.
Anyone wants to add or discuss any ideas? It was turning into a neat setting.
Original thread: >>50321192
Map is the internal divisions of fantasy Brazilian Empire, made by a brazilian Anon.
The basic of the countries were
Brazil is your typical Fantasy Empire, with a strong church and fighting elves in the jungles.
Argentina is an agglomeration of bickering warring states with an obsession with silver, related to a werewolf plague.
Uruguay is a republic/federation of city states, struggling with its two very aggresive neighbours.
Paraguay is a wood elves nation, either gearing up for war, or struggling with the crippling aftermath of a war.
Chile is full of dwarves which mine the mountains and fight the south barbarians, while Peru and Bolivia have a "strugling vestiges of a mighty empire" thing going on. they need more work.
Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela hadn`t been discussed at all.
And lastly, the Patagonia is an uncharted land filled with danger and monsters beyond comprehension. also, barbarians warbands.
Is there anyone in the original thread still around? want to keep at it?

"When the marching army crossed the Arco da Santa Trindade into Rio's main avenue, the crowd erupt with a cheer that would certainly be heard from the White Palace. The green and gold banner of the royal family emblazoned with the rampant jaguar flew over the vanguard of the parading army, and just below it, marched the knights of the Central provinces, their plates shone bright as silver under the intense tropical sun. As it was custom, the knights with higher standing worn a piece of jaguar pelt over their shoulders as a sign of their loyalty. Behind them, the less well armored barons and landed-knight, and finally, they marching forces of man-at-arms with their halberds and crossbows and large pavises with the colours of their lieges. Behind them, prisioners bound by chain pulled the carts with pelts and natives treasures and crafts that the nobility enjoyed to collect as curiosities. With their red skins and long dark hairs, the elves kept their heads low, pride broken as they were marched down the Empire's Capital as the conquered in another of the victory parades in honor of the Emperor. They would later be sold at the harbor market as slaves, I was told. More curious were the ones that came last in the column, in their long capes, one could almost take them for humans, if not for the slightly red tint in their skin. The half elven rangers, with their short bows and leather armor, who worked as the scouts in the wars with the native tribes, marched almost as if forgotten by the rest. Military service for the dominating human were the only choice for those born with half blood, given the native elves would never accept one not born within the circles of their own tribes. But that was not to say they were accepted among the humans with ease. Scouting first ahead in hostile territory, marching last in victory, living in the slums by the mountainside outside the capital's walls, or in isolated hunting lodges struggling for a living..."

"...during the peace intervals in the seasonal wars with the natives. They were instrumental in the Empire wars, and in a way, they were a fruit of them too." - Sebastiano Virgilio, Cronista Imperial.
Europe has been engulfed by the death plague and most of its population have died. It's been years and years, and the plague doesnt seem to go away, and few people, apparently immune from the disease, are left living. The plague is slowly spreading across the rest of the world. A group of travellers have come together to try and find the cause of this apocalypse and stop it, if possible.
Does this sound like a good scenario?
What supplies would travellers travelling on a post-apocalyptic medieval europe carry? What kind of dangers would they fight? Is using hellish monsters a good idea here? What system would be ideal for this?
I'll save everyone a lot of time and say:
Depends.
You need to figure out more what you want OP. So far its way too open ended.
>>50395437
in before inevitable /pol/ hijack
But if you are doing this OP, make sure you make up a fictional disease instead of using something historical like the Black Death. Otherwise you risk some snarky motherfucker "discovering" penicillin during the first session and derailing the whole concept

How to design an evil religion about forest spirits?
>>50394634
Define evil.
Not even troll, just trying to refine what you're looking to accomplish.
>>50394634
I'd take inspiration from the tales recently-established-as-state-religion Christians told about paganism.
Plus, things like bloody human sacrifices to get the crops growing, and so on.
You can use fae as a base for these rituals, or you can use an eldritch god attuned to nature.
How rich does a semi-obvious monster need to be in order to buy its way into the good graces of a town or city?
Depends on the setting, sure, but I think we can get some kind of baseline here.
>>50394462
IT
DEPENDS
ON
THE
SETTING
On a strict one-ruler society it just needs to pike the ruler's interests. In a collectivist town it needs to be rich enough to make over 80% of the people not need to work anymore so that only an extreme minority may want to fight it at first.
>>50394462
Rich enough that its wealth puts it in the realm of other local authority figures. At that point it is assumed to be a legitimate alternative so long as it doesn't show itself to be worse than the local powers. I suppose I mean to say that it has to be rich enough that its monstrous traits can be regarded as eccentricities of wealth shared by other rulers.
>>50394545
You also have to vastly increase its wealth and generosity depending on whether the setting has regular hostile contact with monsters, if there are cultural or religious aversions, or if there's some kind of wider government that would do Bad Things to everyone involved. It doesn't matter how rich you are when everyone around just wants to kill you for what you intrinsically are.
Also, it has to be enough of a threat that "Kill it and take its money" isn't a better option.
