Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where HVTs live a life of luxury, with beautiful cities to stand still and get shot past, observed and inoculated in.

1st for teaching a Mimic to love
>>50337909
2nd for uniting the human kingdoms and having a great many children with them.
>>50337389
>That's a good question. Is Mimic even sentient? Does she have a conscience? Does she have wants and needs beyond sustenance? Does she have the capacity for true, intimate love?
She's definitely sentient. However, in her natural state, I doubt she has a particularly complex mental life. She's effectively an ambush predator that has developed ability to mimic human appearance and intelligence to better lure in prey, and in doing so ended up becoming actually sapient. Her intelligence would probably be used purely to assist in getting food, because she's not even aware of any other use for it.
However, since she is capable of learning, she is capable of being taght about love, philosophy, and that there's more to interacting with other beings than just eating them.
That's the thing I've always liked about Mimic Princess; the idea of the knight teaching her the meaning of love and other stuff, and transforming her from a ravenous monster disquised as a human into a proper lady. Its cute.

Humbly requesting a pdf of the Zodiac Empires player's guide that is compatible with 5e and Pathfinder?

Hey /tg/, what fantasy races do you suppose would be best suited for transplantation into a Sci-Fi setting? Harpies or other avian species would seem to make sense, given the utility of using wings for movement in zero-g environments. What other races would work well IN SPACE?
Space Elves have been a staple since forever.
>>50404106
>Harpies or other avian species would seem to make sense, given the utility of using wings for movement in zero-g environments
Nigga WHAT? You mean ZERO utility? How does that make them better suited for zero-G?
>>50404292
They can move around and manoeuvre without having to grab hold of something. A human on the other hand will be slaved quite thoroughly to Newton's second if it doesn't have contact with something, or has a thruster pack strapped on.
Not much of a problem with the tiny, cramped space station we have today, but hey, SciFi.
/tg/, I need some help to flesh out the setting. Briefly it can be described as Dickensian England with existing mythical creatures in it that can be divided into faerie, angels and demons (Former being relatively common and latter two being a rare sight, especially in physical form). I will write some things that are figured out so far.
>>50402551
As it was stated earlier, basic platform for setting is Victorian England with Dickens vibe to it. Victorian fantasy settings are mainly associated with steampunk, so I think I need to state that thematically it would be close to magical realism rather than fancy machinery. Magic is not completely absent, but not a common sight either. It is divided into three forms: faerie, holy and demonic/occult. People are extremely rarely seen as magic users, and not all types of faerie are able to use faerie magic. Overall ratio of mythical creatures to people is 1:3.
For the lack of correct word, term "faerie" covers creatures from folklore of Western Europe, be it elf, dwarf, boggart, kelpie or basilisk (Term may sound annoying, so it would be great if anyone knows a better alternative). A lot of faerie are adapted into society, while some are still living in wild areas. Socialization slowly begun somewhere around one or two centuries ago and it was forced by growing human expansion. Attitude towards faerie (At least to civilised ones) is basically the same as to outlanders. Portrayal of creatures should be more akin to their description in folklore rather than to their Tolkien or D&D archetype.
>>50402554
Angels and demons are constantly in conflict and rarely act in open mainly using people and faerie as mediators in achieving their goals. This conflict should serve as a kind of big picture that will bring some degree of polarization and antagonizing in setting. It doesn't have to be completely black and white (Though Dickens was pretty moralistic in his books). For example, the landmark to angels behaviour may be more similar to Old Testament rather then to New one, and demons are simply subverting celestial order on Earth.
Some faerie are neutral while most of them are more or less aligned with one of the ends of angelic/demonic spectrum. Logic of treating faerie creature as associated with one of this ends is similar as if they were described in medieval bestiarium. For example, unicorns were treated as pure creatures, therefore, if they will exist in the setting, they will be associated with angelic spectrum, while dragons were synonymous to Devil, therefore, if they will exist in setting, they will be strongly associated with demonic spectrum, and so on.
>>50402560
The goal of setting is to preserve historical feeling to it without being Tolkieny and overly perky Dickens-with-elves while maintaining mystical atmosphere with inclusion of mythology in everyday life. PCs are supposed to be either people or civilised faerie.
I am more interested in exploring social aspect of setting, i.e. 'What roles do faerie fill in society?', 'How does little amount of magic adapt in everyday life?', 'How does big picture of angelic/demonic conflict affect history?', 'Which mythical aspects should be considered relatively ordinary and which would be viewed as rarity?' etc. Yet I have stumbled with lack of ideas on that front. I would be very grateful if somebody can throw concepts or research material to work with. May dump some Gustave Dore's engravings if it will help.
TL;DR Basically idea is somewhat similar to Ars Magica's Mythic Europe but set in different era with socialized mythical creatures and without big focus on magic in it.
You're a group of zealous kobold terrorists. You must invade the reactor room, retrieve the dragon eggs, and get out. How do you approach this problem?
You're a group of mercenaries on a budget. You have to defend this plant from the aforementioned kobold terrorists. How do you approach this problem?
to be clear, the PCs are gonna be the mercenaries. It's for a one-shot.
>>50401861
If I were a kobold , Id probably try to breach the water filter and enter through there using pumped air/airbladders.
Maybe have a second group that tries to go over the fence (covering it with something non conductive first), and then sabotage the air filtration/conditioning system with noxious/poisonous gas. And then perhaps use it as a point of entry if we had gas masks/immunity to the poison.
I'm still not really clear on the level of tech here, are the kobolds going to be up against guys with swords, or automatic weapons, if it's the later they are probably going to act a bit different if the physical differences are evened by modern weaponry/tech.
Also, just out of curiosity, what makes the retrieval of these eggs an act of terrorism?
Anyways, for the PC side, I'd just use that tactic from the battle of the marshes, and electrify the entirety of the lake, just stick some high voltage wires in it and pulse em every now and then to fry anything in it. Then have a man stationed in key positions around the perimeter to watch for people trying to get in, with some sort of signaling device either visual or aural.
Again this is a little general because I'm still not sure what kind of tech we are talking here.
>>50402137
steampunk-era firearms, but they do not function within the area marked with pink, because of a magical field that prevents fire. (its purpose is to prevent fires and use of explosives and firearms during attacks).
dragons have been wiped out, and the few eggs that remain are used to generate power. Kobolds strive to revive dragons, which counts as terrorism.
Interesting ideas overall, thank you.

Really? Not going to give him a huge constitution?
I've been working on something in my free time that I want to see if anyone would be interested in.
An asymmetrical tabletop combat game focused around a group of players (the Heroes) against another player (the Monsters) with an emphasis on combat and optimization of either team composition (if I go with premade characters) or character builds (if I go with a "class" system).
The interesting part, in my eyes, would be that the heroes would either pick their team build/characters first, then the monster player selects his enemies as well as the battlefield, its conditions, and any obstacles, to a point system, which the hero players then use to fund their equipment/short-term benefits.
Characters would be represented with tokens, since I'm too poor to pay for miniatures to be made on my behalf, and would use distance measurement (inches) as opposed to squares or grids. Templates, such as explosions, cones, etc, would also be featured.
Does this sound interesting? Has something done something similar to this that I'm unaware of? Basically I'm trying to make a small-scale tabletop mini game focused on asymmetry.
post the rules first or give a taste of the gameplay

Gladly.
Heroes are Inquisitors and are charged with hunting down monsters that prey on humanity. An Inquisitor fits into a Path, which represents their training and affinities, and one or more Roles which determine their universal abilities as well as the contents of their Battle Fervor deck. These roles, such as Ambusher, Tactician, and Zealot give them certain strengths and weaknesses to certain categories of monster roles. They also play off other Roles in a party. For example, the typical Tactician can create a battle plan at the start of the game, a pool of d6's that exist outside of character's dice pools which he can assign during combat, even during an opponent's turn, to help someone in a tight spot. However, this pool shrinks by 1d6 per round as the combat becomes less and less predictable.
A player's deck is a set of cards comprised of their Role cards, their Hero cards (unique to the character), as well as cards that are added from the purchase of equipment before the battle and added to their decks by the opposing player during the course of battle. A player draws three of these cards at the start of each of their hero units activation and can use his Endurance resource (his dice pool) or the team-wide resource called Favor. Any unused cards are discarded at the end of the turn, unless a character has a keyword that lets them keep one.
Heroes and elite monsters have an Endurance pool, an amount of dice they can use each round to split between offense and defense, obviously with caps. Generic monsters have a static offensive dice number and a defense number to represent a lower skill in combat. Dice pools are comprised of d6's.
In a round of combat the unit with the highest reflexes on their side acts first, then the highest reflex opponent acts, and this goes back and forth until all units have moved and acted.
That's a quick top-level overview.
Did... did you steal my idea?
I posted a Very similar idea called Crypt Raiders a while back. I never went anywhere with it, but the idea was basically this, except the initial focus was on Tucker's Kobolds.
Not that I'm complaining. I never would've gone anywhere with it. Too busy.
I'm looking for this tg story where a wizard takes a fighter as a disciple for years only to prove him that studying> women.
>>50399548
Pretty sure I seen them around as a screenshot in the last month but I cant seem to find it in the archives.
Nobody has that, but we all know which one you're referring too.
>>50399611
No, it isnt that one: it goes like this.
Wizard and fighter are in a party.
All this time fighter keeps bullying wizard calling him permavirgin nerd.
Wizard keeps saying disregard bitches adquire spells.
They beat the bbeg and they return home.
Fighter finds out the woman he was supposed to marry married someone else also has trouble finding a job.
Wizard hires him out of pity, makes him his apprentice.
Years later fighter learns bending reality and inmortality is pretty neat.
The woman he loved is left by his husband for another woman younger than her.
Fighter realizes he could give her back her youth and marry her, but realizes that will take time away from his studies.
In that moment the wizard burst off and says "SEE I TOLD YOU SO" and he realizes he did everything just so he could prove him wrong.
Does anyone else play this game? It has such a great setting with all the grim darkness of 40k but with the humour and irony that later editions seem to have lost. I've been planning on running a game with my group as soon as our current campaign is over and I was wondering if anyone else on /tg/ have had any experiance with it.

I prefer the Savage Worlds adaption, as it is less reliant on negative modifiers to offset the the high stats.
What are you going to do with The Truth?

Ah man if you actually have a GM psychotic enough to go through the whole rule book and attempt the reassemble the actual gods damn rules from where they were spread randomly throughout the book with no sense of logic or playability in mind SLA industries is a fucking blast.
But for serious reals I think they edited the book with a fucking shotgun.
All my players just bailed on me to play tonight... again.
What rule book(s) should I spend the night reading, whilst fantasizing about not having to play with a bunch of faggots?

Is FATE really as bad as tg makes it out to be?
>Ask /tg/ for space opera literature
>/tg/ suggests Honor Harrington
>Look it up, premise of space british empire fighting space north korea due to unavoidable economic difficulties is interesting
>Read first book, it's awful
>Decide to continue because maybe it gets better
>Give up after the main character, who's strong, beautiful, tall, a genius at everything, charismatic, loved by everyone who isn't evil and greedy or a literal rapist, respected by her enemies, ludicrously wealthy, whose grandmother tamed a species of psychic cats and who was chosen by a psychic cat herself, and whose only flaw is that she gets too angry when faced with injustice, defeats a master swordduelist with decades more experience than her in one strike while exhausted and in a dress after saving the planet of space mormons from space north korea and proving that girls are just as good as boys
>Read a synopsis of the later books
>Premise of british empire vs north korea is abandoned, they team up to fight another faction
Jesus Christ, I think I might actively hate this series. I'm not sure. Honor Harrington is just so irritatingly perfect at everything and all of the interesting things happen when she's not around.
>>50396314
>He fell for the /tg/ have good taste meme.
>>50396314
She is pretty much the dictionary definition of a Sue. Personally I enjoy it in a guilty pleasure kind of way and it helps that the focus moves away from her as the series goes on.
>>50396314
Just read Hornblower and pretend its space. That's essentially Honor Harrington but ten times better.
hello. i want to create a superior human race. should i augment existing people, create clones, or both? fetal or instantly adult? do i pump them with technology while they are still in the jar? assist me with your guidelines please i don't want to mess this up
>>50394807
Start by harvesting sperm and eggs from the most intelligent, naturally fit and otherwise best human beings. Fertilize a bunch of high quality eggs then select the best ones.
Once these first generation ubermensch are ready harvest eggs and sperm from the best of them. Repeat this process, sometimes inserting genes from outside your ubermensch project for diversity and weeding out unwanted traits that piggyback on the traits you actually want.
After a few thousand generations pick the best female out of the entire project and somehow give her the ability to reproduce via parthenogenesis(maybe you found this trait during the project or maybe you splice in some lizard geens), so she can produce perfect clones, who can then clone themselves.
>>50394807
Instand adult is no good unless you can somehow program in skills or download skills into them, you need time for them to learn. That being said humanities maturation period is stupid long. If you can shorten it a bit that would be great.
