Requesting British colonial/explorer type characters with a fantasy twist.
Think of a dude with mutton chops and a monocle shooting Orcs
Might seem obscure but is what I thirst for, anything appreciated
>>50475530
About the closest I have. I've also got some colonist magical minutemen, if that'll work too
Help! I've already bought the hardcover but I really need a pdf. Where me find? Why no torrent?
the 5e thread has a pdf of it.
>>50475331
>I've already bought the hardcover but I really need a pdf
So scan it
I don't want to break the spine, thanks.
Sup /tg/.
I posted two or three weeks ago the first version fo HexDraft, my web-based alternative to Hexographer.
http://hexdraft.x10host.com/
I took into account what some of you said. So now we got :
-Color picker
-Fill color option
-Roll20 compatible size option for the hexs (need to be tested but it should be okay)
-Quick save as PNG/JPEG buttons
What do you think of it so far? Any ideas of things I could improve/add? I'm also still looking for an icon pack more fitting than the current one.
Thanks for your return.
>>50475048
Sorta neat. An option for horizontal hexes would be nice (pic related). I'm assuming you're putting in a line tool at some point?
As someone who is planning a big hexcrawl for a GURPS game, this is pretty fun to use so far. It would be nice if you could use photos to fill in hexes in case someone has a nicer tileset or icons that they want to use. Also something to change the orientation of the hexes so the point bits can face up would be a nicer option as well like what >>50475346 said.
>>50475346
I'll look into it. The line tool is planned yes.
>>50475384
The photo part should be doable. I need to do a bit of research.
Anybody here have any experience with 3d printing minis? How about using a 3d scanner to get blueprints to print copies?
Are there any printers/scanners you guys have had success with that are good enough to do 25mm/28mm scale minis?
>>50475002
A bit of googling should tell you that the hardware, plastic, and setup will cost you several thousands of dollars (if you want anything close to the quality of manufactured minis).
Depending on the game, that could be several armies, enough to get you and several friends started.
Recasting sprues is a lot cheaper.
Well, you can have basic home made 3d printer for around 300 bucks, the only catch is you need 3d printer to make the parts.
>>50475184
Eh, I've worked the theoretical price one one built from scratch down to $60, but you have to be able to weld to get it done, and it'll likely never reach the quality we're trying for here. Also you'd need experience with Arduinos, and some coding.
Actually, we over at the /fvgt/ would have some interest in this. We may or may not be planning on gathering 3D models to make virtual 40k a thing.
Tell us about the moments where you kept your party alive when all of them but you were taken down.
I'll start.
>It's DnD 5e
>Playing Ricardo Capulet, a Bard with ridiculously good stats.
>The rest of the party are a Paladin of the Morninglord, an Assassin and a Diviner.
>We have been hunting down some hags and killed the hag mother in the previous session.
>With it getting dark, we have the brilliant idea to press on through the night to slay the other hags.
>Some zombies and a demented druid later and we have finally gotten there.
>Paladin's expended some of his smites, I have one last use of Bardic Inspiration.
>Party isn't in good shape, only a couple of spells left
>So we infiltrate, assassin turned invisible by the diviner and the rest of us prepared to ambush.
>The hags are invisible because of course they fucking are and reveal themselves
>Ricardo unleashes two Thunderwaves boosted up to 3rd level.
>Assassin gets two critical backstabs, slaying one of the hags who was paralysed by Hold Person
>Paladin uses his last smite to seriously damage the other.
>Wizard does cheeky stuff with illusions but forgets he's holding a bow.
>The last hag is seriously wounded, I'm out of spell slots and everybody is unconscious.
>Fortunately, I had Firebolt, and managed to finish off the last hag.
Good times that one.
Never had one, it's well known among my groups that I always roll poorly when it's imperative to roll great.
I lost half my chars to nat1 in Fort while always being the one with most Fort by a large margin for example, last time I had to roll against DC 12 (at 7th level) while having Fort 16, I nat1'd, they used me as hostage and then killed me.
Just today I rolled three 1s and two 2s and I almost drown, while my char has 17 to swim and the DC was 20.
>First time playing with this group
>Star Wars homebrew
>Make a nerdy Bith character, very tech-central.
>Come in at the start of a new campaign. Party starts on a transport shuttle in space
>The mercenaries that the captain hired for protection decide to mutiny and rob the passengers.
>Party ain't havin' that shit.
>Huge fight breaks out between us and the mercenaries in the on-ship cantina
>We're outmanned and outgunned, don't see the fight going our way.
>Hatch a plan.
>Book it from that cantina, sneak past any resistance, search for the closest computer terminal.
>Teammate calling me out on not contributing to the fight i.e. standing and trading blows with these well armed and armored enemies.
>Once I find a terminal, I use my big-ass Bith brain to hack the ship's systems
>Close and lock all the doors to the cantina, and then vent the oxygen out of the room.
>A gamble to see who will pass out first: my teammates or the mercs
>Teammates all pass their checks, and all but one of the mercs passes out.
>Soon as I catch that on the camera feed, I turn the O2 back on.
>Opposition dealt with handily
>>50474832
>Playing hard
>Not seducing the Hags
This doesn't sound very glorious to me op.

Today's topic: Talk about whatever new ideas and pitches you have
What's the correct grammatical version of "pertaining to the atlantos worlds?"
Atlantic?
Atlantosi?
Altantian?
Which Chaos Warband so far is your favorite?
>>50370489
I like the singers myself. Lots of potential in building a choral themed chaos warband that fights and communicates with songs and hymns.
Post an idea for a setting, and rate other people's settings.Let's get those brain juices flowing.
>The "world" is actually just an island in the middle of a lake. The characters are all sentient insects or other small creatures that wish to flee the island for the "new world" due to a prophecy. The prophecy states that: "When the Queen of Bees dies, and she has no successors, wicked gods of unimaginable size will destroy the world with their screaming monsters and poison gases." Guess who just died?
C'mon, give us a basic setting description off of the top of your head. It can be anything.
>>50473813
>World was ruled by mages in a tower in the centre of a lake, one day a big experiment fucks up and the mother of all explosions happens
>The result was a crater spanning half the continent and a mass wearing down for the barriers to the magical realms.
>This means magic and demons and shit can get through much easier and interact with the world, effectively making everyone capable of magic and summoning a daily practice, a necessary thing in the half of the new wasteland that isn't just a massive hole.
>>50473813
Here goes nothing:
>The players are all send outside their city as ritual offering to the monster in the great forest to be devoured. A guard takes pity of them and before the soldiers who took them there leave, he sneaks a knife to one of the PCs. They free themselves in time to flee from the big ass fucking demon. Now, barely dressed, no supplies and weapons, they must fight for survival. Crafting weapons from sharpened sticks and rocks at first, then monster parts and later looting from corpses and armed monsters, they have to learn on the go the skills to survive the corrupted woods. There's a few endgame scenarios: Killing the Demon Lord in the obsidian tower in the center of the woods so that he won't fill the spawning pits anymore and any demon killed will stay that. This would lead to people eventually reclaiming the woods and no further need for offering sacrifices; Finding a fabled city built by runaways and exiles somewhere in the city and staying there; Finding the legendary Gate across the mountains and fleeing the cursed realm.
The twist: All taxing ordeals, like starving, going cold for too long, lack of sleep, witnessing too much gore, being raped by monsters, etc...Will damage the players sanity and potentially give them a corruption score. Players with high corruption score will need to take actions alligned with the monsters/demons ideals on occasion to avoid losing more sanity. Compulsory actions wont raise their own insanity level, but can affect their companions. Get too much of either insanity or corruption and you lose your character.
>>50473863
Not sure how I feel about "everyone has to use magic," but I fucking love the idea for a large portion of the world being one gigantic crater.
>Okay so what are some of your character's weaknesses
>He doesn't know when to back down
>is a woman
>intelligent, nihlistic with a wicked sense of humour
>>50473453
I know that this is a hideous cliché in writing that arises from people being told that 'good characters have flaws' and not wanting to give their character a flaw that makes them in any way less badass, but I can actually see this having hideous consequences if RPed properly in a game.

There's something oddly satisfying about the verisimilitude of a universe as openly hostile to its characters as our own world is largely uncaring about our own.
There's always one or more Big Bads.
There's superhuman heroes (Space Marines).
There's alien species that it's okay to hate with no thought, or to say fuck that hate and try to be friendly with one or two (Tau/Eldar - for RT's, at least).
There's people so rich beyond our wildest, non-1% dreams that we can barely comprehend it, who can build their own fate with clever deals, industrial empire building, treacherous backstabbing, and waging their own private wars.
There's mind-bending horrors lurking underneath every curtain, where technology can form a counterbalance to rampant magic, and cleverness or violence is usually a solution.
And there's normal people shoved into all of that just trying to survive. Dark Heresy Acolytes and Adepts, your rank and file guardsmen from tabletop or the RPG, and countless normal people from the novels, all alone in the grimdark night.
And considering how shitty our future has looked for years now, it's grimly comforting and hilarious in equal measure.

>wtf is kingdom death
A game by a company of the same name, released a few years ago. It has 12 expansions, and the core game is getting a reprint. It is on kickstarter now. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/poots/kingdom-death-monster-15/description
>how does shipping work
Game will ship out in waves, starting in 2017, and ending in 2020. Each wave will have its own pledge manager, and you will pay shipping for it once they are ready to ship that wave.
>how do addons work
Just increase the amount you are pledging by the cost of the add on. For example, if you are backing at the $50 level, and would like the First Hero expansion ($35), you would leave your pledge LEVEL the same, but change the pledge AMOUNT to $85.
>do I need both the core game and the update pack?
The Kickstarter is to fund a new edition of the game. If you get the game through the Kickstarter, it will have the update pack already included. If you already own the core game, you need to by the update pack to make everything compatible.
>do I need the update pack to use new expansions?
We don't know yet, but that may be the case. Other way, there are no levels you can back at that don't include either the update pack, or the updated core game, so any base pledge you get will be compatible with the new expansions either way.

Off hand, Savage Worlds or Strike!, but you'll need something for the ship-to-ship combat.
Uncharted Worlds may work, but it's *W
Some card from Aether Revolt seem to have been spoiled via reddit.

It seems mtgs thinks it's legit, so... discuss.
Yahenni's Expertise, if legit, seems stupidly good.

Finally, the story is continuing. It seems the rebels are about to start massing near Sullust.
>>50466725
It's actually not bad this time. I'm shocked.
I mean, it's not the best we've seen, but it's not "beefslab." I like the moral quandary Yahenni runs into - it's good that it's been expanded - and Gonti was characterized damn well. Chandra was impulsive without being a preteen, Gideon was straightforward without being an idiot (although bellowing after a wanted criminal at the top of his lungs was pretty dumb), Nissa was comforting without being a moeblob, and Jace was tactical without being a prick. I just hope this is a sign of an upswing after the black mark on all of Magic that was "beefslab."
Nissa a cutest
I read the story when I really have nothing better to do; I put little stock in it. But this one was bretty gud
Just finished pic related. Also up to date on eisenhorn/ravenor/bequin, ciaphas cain and read some of the omnibuses (grey knights, imperial guard, ultramarines).
Assuming I don't want to touch the Horus Heresy books, can /tg/ recommend any other good 40k novels? Need shit for reading on train.
>>50465460
Iron Warrior and Night Lord omnibuses were very good.
Enforcer omnibus, and if you don't mind something on the pulpier side, Atlanta infernal is an almost never-mentioned gem.
Some of the smaller books are fun too (15 hours comes to mind.)
What the fuck is going on with the next Bequin boom, anyhow? It's been like 3 years?
Atlas infernal. Fuckin autocorrect
Why do martials even try?
You cannot compete with the infinite powers of the cosmos you silly rubes.
All you're good for is being our meatshield at low levels and our pack horse at higher ones.
