Centuries after a global tech war and total collapse on Earth(?), man re-emerges as an industrial-age society. Most people's genomes are fairly altered due to radiation and genetic modification toward the end of the war. High-science is a lost art.

As a last resort, one of the main factions of the global war sent capsules filled with cryotanks housing their leaders and greatest scientists to a strange satellite or planet on an elliptical orbit that passes Earth(?) once every hundred years or so. During times of close proximity between our planet and this satellite these cryo-capsules attempt to upload the consciousness of their inhabitants remotely to the brains of the few humans that retain a certain genetic structure on the surface of the planet.

How am I doing /tg/?

I've been working on a particularly difficult monster I would like to get your input on.

I call it the Spooktapus. It is an octopus made of skeletons, that also can swim underwater. It has skulls on the end of its spooktacles and a bigger skull made of skulls as its main body. Above ground you might mistake it for a spooky spider, but in fact it is entirely different.

I do not know what to do with it now that I have created it.

So I'm currently writing up a Fallout florida campaign using elements from fountain of dreams and the canceled fallout tactics 2. Also as a local floridian I think there is a lot of potential for interesting fallout locations, such as Disney, the everglades and kennedy space center. I would like to run some ideas by you guys as well see if you have any good ideas for quests/sertings.

Yo /tg/,

Came up with this crazy idea for a /tg/ type homebrew and was wondering if you guys can dig it, I know nothing about game design so I thought I'd ask you guys.

So basically the system as I envision it would be a relatively rules light RPG, with a small list of general and rather vague rules that sketch out the mechanics of the setting. The gimmick is however in the fact that the rules can be changed by the players bringing challenges to the "court of rules", and having short mock legal battles to try to change or interpret the rules of the game. Every decision would create precedent that could be drawn on later by further court challenges ultimately building a ridiculous towering system of strange and often contradictory rules that make the game utterly strange to play.

Now I know that might not sound all that great, but I was kind of thinking of it as a sort of fun lighthearted one off type thing that would be fun rather than a serious system.

So whadaya think /tg/ is this idea as retarded as I am, or does it have potential?

Help me out /tg/

A friend gifted me Sorcery! for my birthday a few weeks ago and it has been genuinely the most fun I had with games for a while. After finishing it I decided to bring out my old fantasy CYOA books that I enjoyed a lot when I was younger and found out that nostalgia glasses are real.
Then I turned to the internetz and tried a few other apps and pc games but so far nothing seems to hit the mark.
Give me suggestions of some good stuff, preferably fantasy.
What I tried already:
Telltale shit: the stories are really restrictive and most of them are about stuff I don’t give a hit about, like minecraft
Choice of Games: Kinda bland and also I don’t usually mind stronk wymyn and faggotry in games but they are trying so hard to make sure every demidragon genderqueer retard feels included that the whole thing becomes stale.
Delight games stuff: These were actually pretty good but they felt more like actual books, there is not enough interaction and gameplay

no, it's time /tg/ did something other than cyoa and circlejerk in the modern mtg thread. We all know that Dark Souls is worthy of a ttRPG: I suggest maintaining the grimdark setting while developing a fairly realistic combat system.

So the ideas I have for a not!Souls rpg:
1) 2 D10 system where success on any test is on an 11+. Additional degrees of success are on 12-20. Instead of degrees of success providing more of something, tests require a specific degree of success to succeed.
2) Attributes do not “level-up”, instead the characteristics change at the GM’s discretion through context (e.g. spending time in jail would prompt the GM to lower attributes, whereas a character training would prompt the GM to increase the character’s strength). Attributes assist a character in succeeding at a test, providing a -x requirement on a test where x is their relevant attribute bonus (attribute/10, rounded down to the nearest integer)
3) Combat is more realistic than in most other RPG’s. Combat actions are specific and are often aimed. Pain is a factor in combat, which is increased for each wound taken and removes dice from a combatants dice pool. This includes both melee and projectile-based fighting.
4) Magic based on slots equal to Intelligence (or other attribute bonus), with varying casting times and focus required.
5) Characters may have an amount of traits depending on the background of the character. These traits may have a positive or negative effect (or both) regarding success on a test.
6) Functioning somewhat similarly to the fate points system, in that a character has a finite resource that replenishes at the beginning of a game session, each character is allowed to not!hollow 3+(willpower bonus) times each game session before being fully not!hollowed.

Some ideas are based off of the Blade of the Iron Throne RPG, and another anon suggested something from Ragnarok: Fate of the Norns which I will look into.
