Hey, currently on a break from GMing due to GM fatigue, been thinking about running a superhero RPG when i get back into it with my group
Any recommendations for systems? Was thinking of running something somewhat campy and fun, probably Silver Age in terms of tone and villains

If it helps, I am aware of sourcebooks that use a superhero setting in combination with the Hero system, Cortex plus, heroes unlimited or icons
Has anybody played with one or several of these systems? Which do you prefer? What problems have you noticed?
And most important for me
Which would be best for role, not roll playing?

Sup /tg/ I've been messing with an idea for a little while and this board is really really good at taking an idea and running (or whatever form of locomotion fa/tg/uys use) with it.
Basically an adventure where my players guard a facility full of creepy as balls odd fucking stuff. Think SCP but with bells on.
Here are the very basics.
>extremely established group
>Solid sort of historical kind of setting with fantasy and sci-fi elements but it's more of a weird alt history version of ours circa 1900.
>anything is permitted.
So the group normally travels a lot in their adventures (and in theory are still dead) but I've wanted an adventure where they stay in one place throughout it.
>adventure background
>the facility
This is where anything weird and wonderful gets stored. Bits of the true cross, Thors hammer, all that good stuff but also anything that the government can't kill.
So these might be odd critters contained in cells, funny looking micro whales which tunnel into people and lay psychic eggs causing them to murder all and sundry, living shadows that somehow turn people into furniture. You get the idea. All of it locked up behind heavy blast doors and steel.
Except that somewhere in the facility, one of the cells, which should be full, isn't.
Inside is the most dangerous weird critter of them all? Or it should be. It's escaped.
What is it?
Additionally what other critters might we find?
What other hooks work in well with this?
Please assist this tiny octopus.

it's completely non hostile, and if anything gets near it ignores it or just kind of stares at it before shuffling forward.
If it's attacked, it will try to lightly slap away the attacker until they leave or it's killed.
it drops no gold, no materials, no reward upon death, and it's corpse is barren. The only thing you get for "defeating" it is shame and guilt.

Have you ever played a pixie, or played with or GMed for a pixie? Were they cute? What did they do? Do you think pixies are overpowered with their Tiny size and super-jumping?
If you are GMing, remember...
1. To strongly consider giving out at least one free "tax feat," like Expertise and pre-errata Melee Training.
2. To use Monster Manual 3/Monster Vault/Monster Vault: Nentir Vale/Dark Sun Creature Catalog math. Avoid or manually update anything with Monster Manual 1 or 2 math.
3. That skill challenges have always been scene-framing devices for the GM, that players should never be overtly told that they are in a skill challenge, and that the Rules Compendium has the most up-to-date skill DCs and skill challenge rules.
If you would like assistance with character optimization, remember to tell us what the what the rest of the players are playing, what books are allowed, your starting level, the highest level you expect to reach, what free feats you receive, if anything is banned, whether or not themes are allowed, your starting equipment, and how much you dislike item-dependent builds.
If you wish to talk about settings, 4e's settings are Points of Light (the planes and the natural world's past empires are heavily detailed in various sourcebooks and magazines), 4e Forgotten Realms, 4e Eberron, 4e Dark Sun, and whatever setting you would like to bring into 4e.

Honestly, having gnomes as well as halfings already bothered me, but its nothing compared to the crap they've shoved into 4e and 5e
I tried dming a 5e game since the group had literally no-one else who wanted to dm and said if I was gonna dm then I'm going to run a vanilla 3.5 esque game, complete with feats and no fursonas
Half my group didn't show for the first actual game, and of the ones who did one of them wanted to play a "dragonborn", some sort of scalie shit they insisted was a genuine race in the player's handbook
Should I allow this shit? Should I make them roll up a new character? Should I just tell them to fuck off with their homeruled furry bullshit?
