Amnesia.
All of them.
They woke up together in the same bar and figured they were probably bound together by fate. Now they are on the hunt for a place where they can fit in. Initially they had of course tried to regain their memories somehow, but after a couple of years and no success they slowly came to an understanding that risking their friendships by gaining their old memories wasn't worth it. And so they are sticking together, calling each other by the silly and slightly insulting names that the half-elf came up with for them.
They even wear matching clothes, though the drow keeps pretending that she totally hates being part of the 5 super-friends.

maybe I should have expanded ontheir current input. They want to start in a city, with an event-based starting adventure. I showed them the play styles in the DMG, and they decided on problem solving. I'm not too sure if I'd roll with the amnesia thing, considering they're all new to this.

Congratulations /tg/! You have won a week long, all access past to Westworld! Live without limits!

You have one week to spend in basically what is the largest, most realistic, grittiest LARPing environment in the world. What would you do? White hat or black hat? This is not a quest thread, I am just interested by what role /tg/ would create for themselves and what quest lines they would pursue.

Would you look for the Maze?

Reading comprehension anon. They're the same as Orks in the sense of all of them being Cyborgs and using a bunch of robots for war. The difference being that most Ork models actually look good, while AdMech troops and walkers are the result of trying to mix a bunch of different things together and ending up with a nonsensical mess.

I just discovered this and I hear there's an RPG. How is it? The setting is exactly my shit. Like the freakier Elder Scrolls stuff but more coherent and less drugged up ramblings. Or a really grimdark Glorantha.

It runs a pretty rules light system, but I've never actually played it. I almost did, but the game fell through. If more narrative/role play heavy and low on dice is your thing, it seems pretty good but otherwise you might be averse. I myself was kinda dubious but would have played it just for the setting.
>>
>>50643965
Well the drugged up ramblings actually inform the plot and don't just exist for supplementary fanwank and justifying absurd retcons. And are just presented in a less absurdly verbose and obscure fashion.

Gets a bit tumblry at times is my only complaint.

> Under D&D rules, a dagger does 1d4 base damage. The average human has a Strength score of 10, adding no bonuses. Several of them, due to the military background of many, likely had strength or dexterity scores of 11-14. But only two or three, and quite a few would be frail with old age, sinking to 8-9 strength. All in all, we can only add a total of +1 damage per round from Brutus.

> An estimate of sixty men were involved in Caesar’s actual murder. Not the wider conspiracy, but the stabbing.

> Julius Caesar was a general, which is generally depicted as a 10th level fighter. Considering his above baseline constitution and dex, weakened by his probable history of malaria, epilepsy, and/or strokes (-1 dex modifier), and lack of armor at the time of the event, he would likely have something along the lines of AC 9 and 60 HP. The senators would likely hit him roughly 55% the time.

> So the Roman senate had a damage-per-round of 66, more than enough to kill Caesar in one round even without factoring in surprise round advantage.

Julius Caesar was not a tenth level fighter. No real life person has ever been as mighty as even a fifth level PC class in any version of D&D.

Hey guys, I bought Warhammer Total War a few weeks back and really like it, fantastic aesthetic and factions. I heard it is based on a tabletop wargame called warhammer and I want to give it a start! I have always looked at mini games from a distance over the years but think this would be a cool place to start no that I have the time. money and a lot of motivation.

If anyone could give me tips or pointers that would be fantastic. I would love to start a Bretonnia, empire or vampire counts army.

Thanks in advance!

As much as I agree about the obvious disingenuousness of the OP, WHFB may be no longer produced but you can still play it. Most local LGS's, at least in my city, still have a number of people that play. You can still get the models and everything to.

Though, I fear I may be treading too closely to the expected and intended responses OP wanted for this thread.

Considering how many of industry's byproducts are harmful to amphibians and their skin, would frog people even be able to develop past the bronze age? If so, how would their society differ from normal humanoid society?

>>

Are you sure you thought this through? Many of industries byproducts are harmful to human skin, but we don't put the was were it harms us.
>>
>>50643185
So let's look at gilding.

Up until electroplating came along, gilding mostly meant fire gilding. You make a paste out of gold and mercury, apply it to your object, and then heat it so the mercury evaporates.

This gives you a thick, beautiful gold layer, along with a whole host of skin, respiratory and neural issues, possibly including insanity, paralysis, coma and death.

>>50643243
>but we don't put the waste were it harms us.

That varies. Sometimes you just let the poor suffer it, or the effects are slow enough that nobody connects the dots.
>>
Well for starters they have tadpoles, live bear water, lay eggs. Don't forget they aren't pack animals.

I think the biggest change may be the fact for sure they would put frog in front of their nouns when they spoke. Shoes would become frog shoes. A boat would become a frog boat. Frog people would be living in frog homes with their frog friends, watching frog movies.

Now, in terms of more unique ones, you can't go wrong with "Curse of the Creeping Coffin". The Give Yourself Goosebumps books are relatively weak, but CotCC is a gem.

There was also this other, Lovecraftian-themed CYOA which I remember really liking as a kid. You started off with a walking stick as your main weapon, but it could be turned into the ghostly spear of an ancient knight if you met the guy in a dream. Wish I could remember the book's name.

How to represent a facist france? It should not be a simple clone of nazi-germany or italy.

Take the French hatred for everyone else, their refusal to accommodate everyone else and their hatred for Germany (and possibly Britain too) and ramp it all up to 11.
>>
The trains never run on time, but the food is delicious.

I'd suggest Napoleon as a reference or inspiration for the local fascists... Hell, make shortness a point of pride in the local government. Big men make little decisions, little men make big decisions. (Well, that would be farce more than fascist, but...)
>>
>>50642713
the memes are too real

have a revanche of the prusso-french war, plus ambitions in italy if not allied. There would be less calls to traditionalism as a whole and more to the revolutionary tradition and extreme french nationalism. Kraut genocide, and the attempted re-settlement (annex) of england and maybe britain proper.

communist insurgents in germany funded by soviets. French might not attack the soviets or otherwise get fucked even harder since soviets have more time to industrialize.

france, at the start, will be less industrialized than germany but have much stronger manpower.

lowlands get FRANKED

france, assuming they lose, become like the weimar republic post war. germany still gets split by allies because it is the industrial center of europe. backlash and the soviet cold war ensues.

they would probably make a successful alliance with the yugos and poles, so soviets would likely occupy those again

Help me out with a curse guys.
My druid player was fucking around in the temple of the God of Knowledge and Science, and now as punishment the god has decreed that he must cure his vast ignorance (INT of 7)

I'm thinking that a fun curse might be that every time he makes a knowledge (Arcana, Nature, History, Religion) check on something new, he gains XP, but if he ever fails the check then he has to roll on the wild magic table.

Is this a good idea?
12 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>50641747
Make him only gain XP when he succeeds on relevant checks, but no more than the party's average XP value, including him.

Curse lifts when he increases his int to 8.
>>
>>50641747
The curse gives +1 int and -1 cha, every month (or whatever is a reasonable time period for your campaign) the curse increases in intensity and ups the bonus and penalty by 1.
>>
>>50641764
>but no more than the party's average XP value
