Why are gold space marines so rarely seen? Is it because people think they're 'tacky' or too Mary Sue?
>>50658164
It's because plastic is cheaper to cast.
Because getting gold to look good takes more work than most people are willing to put into a full army. Or at least that's how I feel after doing one guy like that.
>>50658164
Makes them too susceptible to Ork snipers.

Post CYOAs and builds, not arguments. Comment on CYOAs and builds, not shitposting.
Ignore waifufags. Ignore anti-waifufags.
Highlight the OP if you have a new CYOA indev or completed, or have an idea for one. This will help you get views and comments about it.

Most awesomest fantasy artist?
Prescott? Elmore? Parkenson? Frazetta?
No, it's Russ Nicholson.
I was going to pose this question to the Super Stand Sunday thread earlier, but I couldn't have free time until it died.
Would you guys be interested in a /sss/ stand archive? A friends and I started working on one and were planning on making it public once we worked out the kinks. I also have a few other questions I need your input on.
What features would you like this archive to have?
To make sorting easier, what type of classifications would you want for different kinds of stands?
>>50655931
Yes please. I was thinking of proposing one, but the namefags kind of ruined /sss/ for me.
Bumping thread so other jojo nerds can see this
>>50655967
Some more questions I want to ask:
Do people want to be able to add their own stands to the list, or is it ok if I just add each /sss/ thread to the archive after it dies?
Should I have a contributor column to denote who submitted what?

Can we get a Kings of War thread?
Got these 2 beauties two days ago. Also finished my first 2000 points of dwarves.
Does anyone know a good source of little (28mm head sized) pumkins ?
>>50658652
Good job getting your army done. Any pics to share?
Try looking for pumpkins at Rapier Games, they do six heads for a pound.
>>50658841
It's there, without the miners. Ultimately I will remove the bases and glue them on scenic bases like I did for my nightstalkers (basically a collection of drows, lizardmen and other old undead stuff).
>level 9 druid in my campaign turned into a behemoth hippo and does 24d8 in one attack
I literally stopped the campaign because how do you role play that situation where stone giants are being swallowed whole by a giant player hippo.

So I'm pretty drunk right now and I laughed awhile to this
You stop taking shit too seriously, laugh, have fun and create a story that you and your players will remember forever.
>Fighters get XP for killing monsters
>Rogues get XP for stealing GP
>Barbarians get XP for destroying magic items
>Clerics get XP for converting heathens
>Magic users get XP for finding spells & lore
>Paladins get XP for smiting evil
>Rangers get XP for...protecting the forest...?
>Monks get XP for...philosophizing...?
A little help here?
>>50654741
Rangers get XP for exploring
Monks get XP for achieving enlightenment
>>50654741
>>Fighters get XP for killing monsters
>>Rogues get XP for killing monstersand stealing GP
>>Barbarians get XP for killing monsters and destroying magic items
>>Clerics get XP for killing monsters and converting heathens
>>Magic users get XP for killing monsters and finding spells & lore
>>Paladins get XP for killing monsters and smiting evil
>>Rangers get XP for killing monsters and protecting the forest
>>Monks get XP for killing monsters and philosophizing
fixed
There are several types of magic users, wizard and sorc shpuld be separated.
monks gets XP for keeping their oath.
this is good example. DM must make kinda "tough" choises for players and "reward" with XP when player choose HARD way.

What is your pet card that you can't seem to cut?
That would be Boonweaver Giant for the sick Pattern of Rebirth combo into Karmic Guide/Reveillark loop
>>50654700
This looks like an amusing combo piece.
In order to fight at full strength against some reality ending threat, the gods had to put the universe in power saver mode and shut down nonessential features for a few hours. Ex: Sun god had to turn it off, god of love disabled affection, and so on, adjusted for your setting's gods and maintainers of reality.
Assuming they win and turn everything back on, what happens to your setting?
>>50654517
Nothing, because in my setting fairy tales like gods aren't real.
>>50654538
If the question doesn't apply to your setting, you may choose to answer assuming a generic or existing one.
>>50654517
If they can turn it off easily, it can be turn on again easily. I.e. plug in the charger and wait for the program to re-upload everything.
The inhabitants never realized any of this but will just have a feeling that there a shift in the world. They would have been in a state like those deep Buddha zen stuff.

>taking Norwegian in uni next semester cause vikings are fuckin cool and METAL
How would one design a setting around Norway?
>>50653176
Start by looking at some games produced in the Nordic countries.
How about "Vikings and METAL"...
>>50653176
Take the cultural setting from Arabian Nights and add in the rape rules from FATAL
What are some of the best uses of music you've experienced in RPGs?
>>50653056
NOT having music at all.
If I've learned something for past 12 years of playing, it's how music NEVER works and never helps building anything. It's already an achievement if the music doesn't distract players
>>50653056
Dropping a nuclear barrage to the 1812 overture was hype as fuck.
>>50653056
I tend to prefer ambient music more than anything else, though in a Modern game I had some appropriate music playing (Techno Ska mix) for a music festival the PC's were attending, and once the players asked who was on stage, wherein I pointed to the speakers, they got much more into it, discussing the music with each other and some of the NPCs, going to dance (in character), being confused because it didn't sound like music to them, etc.
Wargames, RPGs, Magic, modeling, board games, etc. If you have a question too minor for its own thread then post it here.
What do you guys do with your old miniature boxes? I've got piles of cardboard packaging for my miniatures that are sitting there empty, but I don't know if I should throw them out or not
>>50652890
If you really want to keep the boxes, flatten them and store them in plastic sleeves in a 3 ring binder. I used to do that with small boxes for LEGO. It works. Alternatively, just throw them in the trash, because they are trash.
I kind of dig the lore and aesthetics / setting of 40K, but I don't have any real interest in playing the game. Don't have the time, cash, or players to really enjoy it, and I hate painting/storing miniatures.
What's the best place to start with digging into novels, source books, wikis, just to get the lore and the stories/characters? Particularly interested in the weirder, more grimdark Even Horizon type shit.
>>50652965
FFG Roleplaying Games honestly. At this point it's the most fun you can have in the game, short of Kill Team.
