Starting a new Vampire: The Masquerade game for my group, and would like to know which books you would deem "worth it".
(Also I remember a book that described the primogen council and princes of various clans... can't for the LIFE of me remember it's name...)
Anyways, V:TM thread!
Just setting the mood...

Technically AIs don't even need to pay the lifestyle cost though.
She'd start out with effectively one level of gremlins, but it is legal.
Dunno how that poster ended up with -3,200 nuyen.
6,000Y from the base, +16,000 from karma, meaning you've got 22,000Y and the commlink+drone only cost 19,500Y
You could ditch some of the autosofts and buy a month or so of lifestyle if you liked.
>>50714459
I am that very poster. I actually went further and boosted it up to 10 karma worth of Nuyen by grabbing distinctive style on top of that.
>Dunno how that poster ended up with -3,200 nuyen.
By actually trying to pay the lifestyle cost from the get-go.
Does anyone know how to fix this in Chummer?
Thanks
Out of boredom for modern RPG, I've gone back in time and found two diamonds in the rough - Dark Sun: Shattered Lands and Wake of the Ravager. Both games completely hooked me into the setting and now I find out there's more to them.
However, I have found that there are both 2E and 4E versions of the setting.
Before going any further in deciding in which of the two to completely immerse myself in, I felt like it'd be good precaution to ask here which of the two was more commonly played? If anyone played Dark Sun at all, given that it's not a terribly popular setting.
>>50713752
Fake and gay. Nobody ever finishes Wake of the Ravager.
>>50713868
And why is that?
>>50713940
If you had actually played, you would know that the game is insanely buggy, and crashes to desktop well, well before you get to the end unless you manage to rig up an actual 1990s style machine running it in real dos, even dosbox almost always fails when you get to the tapestry areas.
I was running a game last night and one of my players fumbled, i referred to a local fumble chart and he got "Character trips and loses their next turn" it seemed so, i dunno, out of place. It broke the immersion from our game and it was meh.
What are some good fumble charts that a rent just
>Drop your weapon
>You trip
Why use fumble charts if you don't like them?
>>50712171
If you want fumbles, don't use charts & just be creative. Things like:
>The arrow you shot missed the target but hit the lamp! It's now dark in here! You can't see!
>Your poorly timed attack allowed the enemy to grab your lance! Make a contested strength roll to see if you can wrestle it back.
>You lunge at the enemy, stumbling and moving forward 10 feet, now behind the foe... and right beside his buddies.
>Your attempt at courting the princess is cut short as you unwittingly do what is fonsidered a profane gesture in these lands. She slaps you in the face and walks off.
>>50712287
Yeah, fumbles to me seem like opportunities to mix things up. Don't use a chart.

Liked it. Shame rts fanbase overreacts so much about DoW 3.
>>50710030
not sure if i like the buzzaw animation. sure it's nice to see when it actually attacks but it looks too electric
also needs more dakka
>>50710030
What's the campaign going to be like?
What's a good system to simulate intense shooting experiences?
Something that rewards clever group tactics, resource management, damage mitigation, gun autism and etc. Setting can be anything, as long as there are guns and it's lethal.
I've played Dark Heresy and really liked the combat in that, but I'm tired of 40k and I don't want to hack the system. I've heard Shadowrun is pretty neat too for tactical action, but I don't know how lethal it is, it came off as really animay-action when I skimmed over the rulebook.
>>50708552
Look for Ops&Tactics. That style of play is unappealing to me, so I don't actually know how good it is, but it's organic homegrown /tg/ original at least.
Two options, depending on how simulationist or narravist you want your game. One is primarily for autistic /k/ommandos but can be a lot of fun if you're into that while the other handles action-movie shoot-outs flawlessly.

How playtested was Ops&Tactics? It sounds exactly like what I'm looking for.

Goddamn, mixing LotFP rules together with DCC rules feels like making a new game in itself. It sucks but I want the best of both worlds damnit! I refuse to kill my darlings!
>>50680656
Then make it, anon. I'm sure all the other OSR fans would love to see your work.
I want to break in to OSR, but I can not find a group at all that plays anything other than 5e and Pathfinder in my area, and looking online has been a bust due schedule conflicts. I've got some friends who've barely played RPGs at all interested though so I'm going become a DM for them. What systems would you guys recommend for a group of people new to tabletop? Originally I was just going to grab an older version of D&D, but there's so many variations and differet revisions I don't know where to start.

A slim one, but he's jacked under those robes.
>>50719151
This is true
>>50719124
in 5th you could play him just as a champion fighter. due to the fact that hp counts as plot armor points, you could fluff it that he doesn't actually swing his sword till the final hit.
IT'S OUT BROTHERS, AND IT'S SILKY SMOOTH!
BASED STREUM ON DID THE EMPEROR'S WORK.
OH, AND THERE ARE SOME OPTIONAL CHANGES TO LOAD OUTS AND PROGRESSION.
SO DOWNLOAD IT AND GO PLAY!
Did they fix the subpar gunplay? That was the biggest disappointment from the previews. That and the lack of any heft or impact from melee weapons.
>>50695916
The biggest difference is on framer ate I'm afraid.
If the game play wasn't your cup of tea, I doubt it'll be now.
I'm happy about the game wth how it is now.
Very happy that the devs proved all the shitposters wrong and fixed it in 2 weeks.
80% downloaded. I am hyped. Is it worth it, OP? Will the alien bastards pay?
