So it's a cycle. What are your hopes and expectations for the rest of them?
My hopes:
Black: Destroys a tapped creature
White: Gives a permanent protection from a colour until end of turn
Green: Makes two creatures fight
or Adjusted Boon Edition
Black: Add BB to your mana pool
White: Gain 5 life
Green: Creature gets +3/+3 until end of turn
Expectations
White: Gain 3 life or get a 1/1 Servo
Black: target opponent discards a card, or a creature gets -2/-2 until end of turn
Green: get a 1/1 servo or put a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control
>>50785380
>So it's a cycle.
How dya figger?
>>50785504
Amended.
Assuming it's a cycle.
Blacksmith Spy - Target creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn
Greensmith Spy - Add 1 any color mana into your pool
Whitesmith Spy - Gain 2 life
Reckon it will be a fully fleshed out game or one of these new quasi-boardgame sets that's an excuse to bundle up some Wyches?
Please be necromunda 2.0
>>50785251
Probably going to be a board game unless Goodwin has obtained an even greater amount of influence. Somewhat doubt Wyches will be in it since it's more Hellions and Reavers that are associated with gangs, possibly Scourges.
>>50785251
I think there might be some new DE minis as well.

FALL OF CADIA, HERE WE COME!
>>50784912
I want the Chaosfags at GW pushing Chaos on all three franchises to fucking die.
But if Cadia fall, the Imperium fall, and then we have something akin to AoS: 40k Ediion
>>50784932
>and then we have something akin to AoS: 40k Ediion
>primarchs coming back
>implying that's not their plan
So I'm starting up a new campaign shortly and long story short the group is playing as a newly created SWAT team.
My problem is that this being a tactics heavy type game a team leader should be eatablished.
In the past I was in a similar scenario where a pc bought the highest rank he could so he could be leader but proceeded to just either never give orders or no one ever listened.
So I've thought about the idea of making a NPC the team leader for the first story arc them having her be murdered and her death be the intro to the second story arc.
The idea is at this point the group will have seen plenty of action and I can pick a pc as team lead by their actual in game merits.
Basically I'm asking for any thoughts or insight on the idea
>>50784782
Seems pretty solid, depending on your players you may want to explain this to them so they don't think you're giving them an NPC babysitter forever. Maybe not tell them they're gonna die but they need supervision for their first mission.
>>50784821
Thanks. I plan on giving the PCs ample say when discussing tactics so they don't feel like I'm rail roading them.
>>50784782
As a kind of secondary note, if you wana see which PCs have the best leadership capabilities, put the party in a situation where they have to manage civilians and see who steps up to bat to ensure they're following instructions properly.
Warhammer 40k "larp" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Scufe_DRn6s
Looks like a bunch of 17 year olds just got their airsoft shit together with a few neckbeards dressed up as commissars and running around with foam swords
The chaos guys don't even bother making themselves look like actual chaos cultists; even a fucking halloween costume you can get for $10 looks more 40k than anything in they have
For comparison, here are some European larpers https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/9b/52/b6/9b52b67b6d665c2a784f06560b1135ca.jpg

>>50784454
American culture is centered around the individual
European is centered around the community
>>50784454
LARPing is considered a pretty childish hobby in America, so a large part of the people who engage in it are the most autistic of basement-dwelling manchildren and failsons. Social stigma keeps most others away, unless they have a genuine passion for it... but unfortunately they're a minority compared to the people who see it as glorified cosplay.
>>50784454
Because it's just playing pretend
Of course Tabletop rpg is also playing pretends but it's way more acceptable and less autistic than larping
We have a lot of That Guy threads, but how about a This Guy thread, for those players who went above and beyond to make your game experience good.
>be me
>running a game of DnD for some first time players
>line up first session at somebody's house for an 11:30 start
>get a text 5 minutes before we're meant to start from a player
>"Hey guys, gonna be 20 minutes late. I missed my bus"
>"Mate you live like a 1km walk from here."
>"At the train station. Had to come down from [next town over]"
>the guy was staying with his parents that week
>took a 4 hour round trip from the next town over to play a 3 hour game because he committed to it before he heard he was going home for the week
>still brought snacks
I try to get this guy in every game I play or run now.
>>50784427
>Be me
>Game night for a new campaign
>One guy shows up early just to hang out and play some Smash Bros and shit
>Told everyone I'd have blank character sheets printed and stuff
>Printer jams, can't fix it
>Fuckmylife.jpg
>Guy who shows up early tells me to put everything on a flash drive
>Don't see how that's going to help, since we're the only two with laptops, but OK.
>Guy who shows up early then proceeds to slip out while I'm trying to figure out what to do, walks 20 minutes to his work, in -2 degree weather in the snow, prints up the sheets off his work's printer, and comes back.
Feels pretty reddit in here.

But yeah, no, thanks for commenting. Real contribution, that. Good job, buddy.
What's your excuse for not running your own campaign?
>>50784137
I'm lazy
>>50784137
>smoking at the table
I miss this, though that dude with the Ultra Lights can get right out of here. I fell into that trap, long ago.
I don't smoke anymore, but there are days I wish I did, and nostalgia-ing about old games makes me remember the smoke-filled game room we had in our apartment, chock full of totes and shelves with our gear, and an ash tray for each seat. And a soda fridge.
GM here, by the way. You guys really should give GMing a shot. It's not as hard as you think if you have improv skills, which you should have if you're a decent player. Just think of it as a reversal of players reacting to shit happening in the game; you just react to what the players do by throwing circumstances at them.
>>50784137
No players.
So I've just heard of this system. So I figured I'd ask if you lot have an opinion on it. Me and a friend are rather curious.
>>50783421
alright so literally nothing then.
>>50784485
alright this is going to be my last attempt to even see if you fucks have at least heard of it in passing before.
>>50783421
I have never heard of this system before.
So, how many of you done a Slice of Life game?I personally enjoy them more
I really want to, but our DM manages to capture best of both worlds. We adventure but I am setting up for one cosy ass retirement. I think if everyday was just minor life activities it would grow old to play.
Although setting up and protecting a villiage of people is a game I really want to play.

Pic unrelated aside from also being cozy and about a slice-of-life story

Generally, how do you run SoL campaign in PnP format? I used to have nice SoL experience once when I was LARPing, but I have a hard time to imagine this as a tabletop campaign.
Do you run it like a usual campaign, but with heavily toned down adventuring elements? Do you need to have a players with special mindset? Can you have a pure SoL experience or is it too boring that way?

I finally updated this with the new characters.
When Doomfist gets added, I might add in another page where you can select a costume change for one of your choices that will change some of the positives and negatives of the character.
Example would be for Zarya's champion skin which would remover her "dumb hair" negative, but replace it with "sweaty gym equipment" or something, or Witch Mercy turning her into a dom who knows magic. I dunno, it's just an idea right now.
Any other changes you want to see made?
What does /tg/ think of secondary 40k media like this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia1-Ap_0g8o
>>50782037
It looks cool
40k, in general, is retarded.
the only really "secondary" thing about it is macha's face stripes
everything else is inspired by the source material or is their own fanfiction.

Thread topic: What's the most fun mono-color deck you've ever run?
>>50781732
>What's the most fun mono-color deck you've ever run?
Right now, I run two. Zada and Molimo. Molimo's more effective, but Zada's just more fun. Goblins everywhere, so much value for two or three mana instants that suddenly target all my creatures, protection from board wipes...
It's all good.
>>50781732
>What's the most fun mono-color deck you've ever run?
Godo will always have a special place in my heart. I learned how to bullshit my way into convincing people I wasn't a threat until it was too late and I could kill the table

You guys got any secret ruhan tech?
Why did Third Edition rename Thieves to Rogues?
Thieves are villains.
Rogues are "antiheroes".
>>50781693
Thief implies your main profession is stealing. Rogue doesn't limit in this way.
Given a thief/rogue can be a lot of non-thief things and still play as a member of that class with full validity, the broader name fit.
>>50781693
Why is magic so ingrained to a lot of classes nowadays?
What ever happened to good old low fantasy?
Friggin Rangers and Rogues are actin' like mages, ain't right, man.
I'm getting that itch. I've been out of 40,000 for a few years now but with the failure of Warmachine Mk3, lately I've been feeling the urge.
If nothing else, I'm in the mood to paint something 40k anyways.
Are there any alternative game systems for 40k models whereby Space Marines don't feel like glorified wound-markers? I'd kill for some sort of sci-fi generic tabletop system whereby I could use 40k models to play something a bit more RPGy
Any suggestions?
>>50780495
Warpath. Newest edition is on the way, with the first wave of releases going out. Shit plays beautifully with both a 40k scale format as well as an Apocalypse scale format, along with a Necromunda/Kill Team game made by the same company.
>>50780495
Well, Killteam is a better 40k format , arguably. Specifically fan-made Heralds of Ruin Killteam.
It is a smaller (250 pts compared to usual 1500) 40k format that runs on custom, fan-made codexes that cut away a lot of cheese from the game. Most units are individual models. It has pretty much every major faction from 40k that you can think of (yes, arbites, feral orks, rogue traders - you name it and its probably there). Also it handles difficult terrain more realistically (for example your model does not get cover save just by standing on the base of the ruin, it has to actually stand behind cover).
KillTeam games are faster and require way less models(and thus less $$$ to get into 40k and more opportunities for "your dudes" modeling). Also you can play campaigns, where you get to buy upgrades for your army, build a base, resupply squads and level up veterans. I've yet to try a campaign, but I've heard that it is the juiciest part of KT HoR.
If you want straight out skirmish system, then I've heard that malifaux is better, but if you want 40k skirmish system with a bit of RPG elements - try KT HoR. I recommend you joining facebook groups of KT and your faction to get latest codexes and get in touch with fanbase.
>>50782883
My question is, does this really change the basic 40k system of 'hit you on a 3+, then wound you on a 4+, then you save on a 3+" with marines being glorified wound markers?
