Isaac shook his head to clear the last of the haze from his eyes and surveyed the carnage in the room. The two creatures he had fought were very thoroughly dead; one was nothing but crushed bone and pulped tissue from the nose up and the other was lying rag dolled on the other side of the room bent in impossible angles. Across the room Praetorian looked like he had fared better than Isaac. He stood knee deep in the dead, figuratively speaking, holding one limp corpse by the neck with the rest strewn across the deck and in a couple of instances the walls around him. A fair number of the mutated humanoid figures bore gunshot wounds but most looked to have been bludgeoned, smashed or broken until they stopped moving.

For his part the Praetorian simply stood and stared. It looked from Isaac to the modified tools clenched in his fists, to the broken remains that made up Isaac's tally, then back to Isaac. He straightened back up to his full height from his fighting crouch, letting the dead mutant drop to the deck, then surveyed the room around him. He cast one last long look at Isaac then turned and moved towards the next doorway. Isaac sighed and cycled the power cells in his contact beam and plasma cutter. No rest for the weary, he thought to himself. Or is that no rest for the wicked? Either way it appeared a breather was out of the question. It occurred to Isaac as Praetorian punched the door control with more force than strictly necessary that unless he could come up with a way to replace or recharge his energy cells soon things were going to get dicey.

The next encounter took both of them by surprise
>>
>>50721244
One second they were advancing down yet another wide hallway, the next Praetorian was sailing through the air. Blind sided by something big, red, fast and with entirely too many horns and teeth it followed up the charge with a leap straight at the dazed Praetorian. The maintenance hatch the shaved gorilla had barreled out of was now disgorging a mass of mutated figures and something new, something brown that hopped and bounded along the floor and walls. The jackhammer report of the massive auto rifle told Isaac that his companion was still in the fight and could probably look after himself for the moment.

Isaac back peddled down the corridor in the face of the oncoming horde and reached for his hardware. He belatedly wished he'd had a chance to give his weapons a once over before setting out. The contact beam and plasma cutter made the trip alright, now he just hoped the rest of his handiwork was as robust and that the oncoming figures weren't tougher than they looked. He raised his arm, sighted at the center of the horde, and triggered the device clamped around his right wrist.

The saw blade shot out of it's housing and jerked to a stop at the end of its kinesis tether. The first rushing figure ran straight into the rotating blade, and what a blade intended to saw through rock and steel did to flesh was a sight. The rushing figure offered little resistance to the spinning saw blade, collapsing in a welter of gore well short of Isaac. He whipped the blade across the oncoming figures, painting the corridor and himself with fans of red and black. Whatever the pale figures were they were no tougher than the necromorph horrors Isaac was sadly used to dealing with.
>>
>>50721278
The happy state of affairs couldn't last forever. A red ball of what looked like fire came sailing out of the back of the horde, forcing him to cut the kinesis tether and roll to the side. Without the buzzing saw holding them at bay the pale ones surged forward again. Isaac scrambled back to his feet and readied another blade, only to be struck from behind and sent tumbling. He was dimly aware that he could no longer hear gunshots, only demonic howling and the stamping of clawed feet.

>Abaddon
Jock who has too many loud parties and wrecks everything. Constantly clashes with Celestine. Mutual hatred and sexual tension is through the roof.

>Celestine
Politically active educated girl, believes in making the world a better place. Driven to the point of insanity by Abbadon's constant everything. Secretly wet every after every argument.

>Inquisitor
Beta girl constantly jealous of Celestine's superior looks and intellect. Does everything she can to tear others down to reinforce her strict worldview. Can't stand the techpriest's autism. Overachiever.

>Techpriest
While everyone else is busy doing inferior flesh-based things, he's locked down in the basement, building the ultimate feat of engineering, a machine that will render all else superfluous. Incredibly autistic. Literally no interest in socializing.

Here's my list of webcomics related to /tg/ related webcomics not on this list:

https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Webcomics

-Weregeek: Your average Sitcom if it was centered around a group of 20-somethings who play in more gaming groups than any one of us have the time for, including, but not limited to D&D, Shadowrun, 40k, several WoD Larps, a smattering of board games.

-d20Monkey. Similar to above, but D&D focused, and the Christmas episodes include some kickass Santa fight scenes. Also features the animated series Dungeon Master as a sort of Obi-Wan force ghost character.

-Rusty & Co. Another "what if monsters took class levels" romp, except this one has a rich cast of cute, if simple, characters.

-Irregular Webcomic: You think /tg/ is autistic? Try this one: An Aussie Gurps player does a Photo-comic parody based on most Lego franchise movies, Shakespeare, D&D/Gurps fantasy, and Steve Fucking Irwin, all the while copy-pasting large rants about Wikipedia, TvTropes, and whatever else he can chat about. Contains more puns than man was meant to handle. Decently done if you're bored and have absolutely nothing else to do.

-By The Book: Monsters get Class Levels: Slutty fan-service edition. Worldbuilding is passable, story is... well, fair to shit, and it's got almost as much nudity as Oglaf. Readable, though the art can be... eh.

-Clockworks: a decent Fantasy Steampunk with an accompanying RPG system. Somewhere between Eberron and Shadowrun in terms of feel. Art is good.

-Looking for Group. Not necessarily good, but worth noting for their Disney music video Parodies: https://youtu.be/fcbazH6aE2g

Nodwick was pretty good. Comic about a fighter-wizard-cleric and their henchman, lots of slapstick, got a bit wordy but was still funny.
Full Frontal Nerdity is a comic by the same author about a D&D group.
Nodwick ended a while back, but FFN is still going.

seriously if i lived in the 40k universe and i was having issues getting my Leman Russ up and running and called tech support. how would the conversation go down with the various factions?

TECHPRIEST: DO NOT INQUIRE OF THE OMNISSIAH'S SECRETS, TECH-HERETIC REEEEEEEEEEE

nice meme. He'd probably walk you through the appropriate rituals, or just tell you to get your regiments tech priest to deal with it.
>>
>>50794291
First something on the other end of the line would screech at you in binary.

Then they'd insult you in low gothic for causing the problem in the first place, lament that the poor machine in your possession doesn't have ready access to a tech priest, then tell you to pray to the Omnissiah.

Then you might get some simple technical support.

I have friends and family visiting for the holidays and I'm up for ideas for a one shot. I ran one last year and will have the same players with one new player who has never played tabletop before, for a total of 5. Trying to one up last years game.

Last time I made Prime runners and had my players basically do a character select, so I'm up for character concepts as well. I was thinking of doing a 16 Blocks rip off. The team has to escort someone through the city, cops, shadowrunners and the like are trying to kill them. They have a certain amount of hours to get to their location.

I'd like to hear your ideas. If you want to know about last years run, let me know.

Mr. Anderson is a wealthy and paranoid miser, and he financed an artificial heart. You are hired by the company to get a return on their product. Either find his very very difficult to find cache of wealth, get something of equal value from him(or anyone?) or collect the heart.

Hunt a rogue AI that isn't really doing anything more than just jumping into expensive sports cars and driving recklessly around downtown Seattle. Reprogram him or shut him down one sports car at a time.

A good ol' bank heist. Make it a megacorp bank for extra challenge.

There's a band of really hard partying rock stars that is the poster children for many of some megacorp's subsidiaries, but they're just about as out of control as a people can be. Get them to the show without them ODing or driving their bus off of a cliff.

Make one that isn't that way?
>>
>>50789619
Design them with purposes other than connecting random encounters together.

"Vault" dungeons should be designed to keep things out (unless you want to play with the theme and design them to keep something from getting out).

"Lair" dungeons should be designed to be lived in.

"Sewer" dungeons should be design with the idea that they are intended to remove waste materials from a large residential area.
>>
>>50789619
I go with the notion that a "dungeon" is any self-contained area for the PCs to explore, fight in, and loot.

A traditional dungeon with long dark hallways and pointless rooms is a dungeon, as is a design based on an actual castle.

In a cyberpunk game like Cyberpunk 2020 or Shadowrun, an underground corporate lab with a few thousand square feet of space would be a dungeon. In a zombie apocalypse game, a trailer park spread out over a square mile would be a dungeon.

The PCs are doing the same thing in every instance: exploring, fighting, and looting.

Whose infestation is superior, Ork or Tyranid? Could Nid xenoflora wipe out orkoid mycelium? Could orkoid mycelium infest Tyranid spawning pools and make them pump grots and squigs instead of gaunts and rippers? We at least know genestealer-infested orks do sometimes fight against Tyranids because their orkieness had proven to be stronger than their bugieness, so the Old Ones bio-tech definitely can hold its own against 'Nid one.

Additionally does the intensity of Waaaghh! psychic field affect the potency of Ork infestation?

I'd love to see almost-human, not-quite-AI replicants become a serious option for PCs. One that has direct bearing on the metaplot, as the line between drone (property) and personhood becomes dangerously blurred for society.

While I prefer godlike AI stories, I feel like those died with AI, and the current generation of small AIs doesn't go far enough in the Blade Runner direction of examination of dubious line between clever machines and actual personality.

my players have had fun with the over-simple ruleset to leadership and management in our exalted game, but there is no way i'd recommend exalted for it. rather, i wanna mention how neat it is that it's basically just "what do you want made? give me 2 things that are sensibly true about what you rule or own that would let you make that." and the rules directly say "if you can think of a hassle about it to be overcome, hassle it." to make it so the players feel good about pushing their agendas and making sure they have hard choices to make, despite there being no actual quantified system to ruling City X.

that said, i'm colored interested by a game that actually does encourage base-building as a primary thing. most of the base-building stuff in other games is more like a "i'm done adventuring and want the adventures to come to me now" situation....
