Basically Elves pop up out of fucking no where and follow a nature goddess and as a result start a new age religion to convert humans into their ranks that actually gained a shitton of followers. To the point entire cites across the globe go into civil war for this religion. Here comes a global military effort to stop this religion from spreading all over the globe. However, this effort was ultimately defeated by the goddess using her powers she fucked over this combined military force she turned them all into beastmen, insectmen, and even orc like creatures. As a result they lost the battle for their countries forcing almost all of them to become depressed veterans or mercenaries trying to make it by due to their own countries abandoning as a result of the mutations them they might be scumbags to many but they have a deep brotherhood with the other mutants even if they are from different countries.

Now the mutant mercs are stuck in a middle of a war between a coalition of former world powers and a faction of nature zealots what is even worse both sides make propaganda smearing the mutants as nothing but insane monsters who will rape and eat you. However even with this fact the mutants still uphold a code to protect the few human cities and settlements that remain neutral in this world ravaged by nature and war.

Came up with this on the spot might expand on it if people like it.

My group was not able to get together in time for a Christmas Special, so I'm planning on doing a Hanukkah special instead.

My current outline is:

>Temple has magical lightning that has been lit for eight thousand years without fuel
>It's gone out
>Players need to figure out why

What kinds of Hanukkah-ey things can I put in it to give it a better sense of following the holiday?

Oh sorry, I thought you asked "what are people going to post in this thread".

I don't know anything about Hanukkah except you can also spell it chanukah, sorry.

I hope not. Jewish Culture is actually pretty cool, from what I know about it.

1. Keep it reasonable. Don't throw in tragedy for the sake of tragedy.
>Orphaned when parents died of disease, foster parent was often neglectful bordering on abusive
Workable.
>Watched parents get tortured and killed by uncle. Kept in dog crate and fed only spiders and gruel, only let out for daily beatings
Pushing it.

2. Show emotions and growth. And I mean a broad range of emotions--not even necessarily positive ones. Things like impotent frustration, desperation, jealousy, envy, exhaustion, regret. If you're just rotating between angry, sad, and snippy, it doesn't make me think you're deep and complex, it makes me think you need a juice box and a nap.

3. Don't equate dark with cool. You can be sullen or calloused. If someone says "My son died," and your character says "good, it'll save him having to grow up in this awful world," it should be as a cry for help, not to be like "oooooooh, so badass!"

So, through no merit of my own, I have become the default "teacher" of pretty much every game I play it feels like. Be that X-Wing, 40k, even just Splendor, I always seem to end up being the guy teaching people the game. I have no issues with this, I just see it as more new players to share the games I love with, but I've run into an interesting problem.

I unintentionally sealclub the everloving fuck out of every person I teach these games.

In and of itself I probably wouldn't mind winning so much, the problem is that I win through no merit of my own, usually by absolutely insanely bullshit dice. On top of that, after every horrible bullshit rolling session where my ridiculous luck kicks in, the new guy is always laughing and cool with it.

>He gets first turn, sets up kind of aggressive, I tell him about seizing and how its usually a good idea for shooty armies to go for it. He says go ahead and roll for it
>Of course I roll a 6

>Barely even lost 20 guardsmen, an unheard of record for IG, and was closing in on a lot of the objectives
>Noobie laughs, said he had a great time, and thanked me for being so patient as I calmly watched the worst small arm in the game brutally murder one of the most efficient monstrous creatures I know of.
>I keep apologizing for the ridiculous rolls and try to explain to him that normally riptides don't fail every nova reactor test for 4 turns in a row, but he's cool with it and says he can't wait for the next game

and i have 6 bikes new on sprue that i am not attached to that could be used for this.

I've been toying around with the idea of a Beyblade RPG and wanted to post what I had so far and get everyone's opinion. Some of the ideas came from the post that originated here on 4chan a while back.

One question I do have - would it be better to have the players of the RPG purchase and use known Beyblades from the lore, or should they construct them from different components?

Anyways, here's what I got!

[Character Creation]

Name
Gender
Appearance

[Character Stats]

Charisma: How well you connect with other players and your Beyblade.

Intelligence: Analytical and tactical talent.

Resolve: How well you act and react while under pressure.

[Character Skills]

Bey-Knowledge: Your general knowledge of tournaments, rules, lore, and legends that involve Beyblades.

Repair & Calibration: Used to fix damaged and broken beyblades and to make calibration rolls, which temporarily adjust stats around to better fit certain situations.

Launching: Your skill with a launcher, helping you to gain additional Spin Velocity to last longer in combat.

[Beyblade Types]

Attack
Balance
Defense
Survival

[Beyblade Stats]

Attack
Defense
Stamina

[Beyblade Components]

Face Bolt: The face is the screw that holds all parts together and identifies a Beyblade and provides a motif for the Beyblade.

Energy Ring: Provides a sense of identity for the Face Bolt. Also provides weight and Upper Attack.

Fusion Wheel: These create a frame for the Energy Ring and make the most contact with the opposing Beyblade. The bey's weight and stats usually are determined by this part.

Spin Track: These determine the height of the Beyblade. Some are just heights, but some also have special gimmicks, such as metal balls, down-force fans, claws, spinning horns and height switch.

Performance Tip: Has some height determining factor, but mainly determines how the Beyblade will move and the Beyblade's stamina.
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
[Beyblade Basic Moves]

Force Smash: A style of Beyblade attack that uses slopes on the underside of an Attack Ring or Wheel to try to force the opposing Beyblade against the stadium floor and disrupt its spin.

Smash Attack: A style of Beyblade attack that focuses on hitting the opposing Beyblade with enough force to deplete their spin completely or knock them out of the stadium.

Upper Attack: A style of Beyblade attack in which the opposing Beyblade is lifted from the stadium floor. This is usually accomplished by using an AR that has a ramp-like slope that reaches under the opposing Beyblade and forces it to ride up the slope until it is no longer touching the stadium floor.

[Beyblade Special Moves]

Each Beyblade will have its own set of special attacks and abilities.

[Variables]

Spin Velocity: Refers to the Beyblade's RPM (Revolutions Per Minute). More accurately, though, it is used to refer to the Beyblade's ability to sustain this spin velocity over the course of the battle.

Recoil: Refers to as the often undesirable result of a collision between two parts, in which the Beyblade is knocked in the opposite direction after colliding with its opponent, resulting in decreased Stamina and a possible self-KO. Prominent contact points that make contact with another Beyblade is usually the cause of Recoil.

Weight: Refers to weight distribution, or how much weight is focused on a radial axis from the center of the Beyblade.
-Outward Weight Distribution
-Centered Weight Distribution
-Even Weight Distribution

[Misc]

Currency: Used to purchase Beyblades, parts, upgrades, equipment, and pay for repairs.

Combat: Winning and losing will be decided w/ dice and a bit of number crunching. Combat is turn-based, with players trading blows, lining up strategy combos, and carefully weighing their choices between their different combat skills. Each combat skill has a different use and effect depending on how much they surpass or fall short of beating an enemy's roll.

It was more comical than anything, as my character, human rogue, cucked the an elf king out of his still virgin wife. Our DM did his damnest to make that guy the biggest beta ever, it was kind of amazing and satisfying to deflower his queen.

I have to wonder - how would you try and run a tabletop game based on the Binding of Isaac? Either just using the themes and the aesthetic, or making your own game based on it.

I could see a basic role playing game of this basically being a dungeon crawler, with a dice pool system and various pools. Items can increase your pools but also have various other effects. Active items take charges that replenish as you clear rooms. There are various 'builds' of character, ranging from the basic Isaac to the harder and downright infuriating ???, Keeper and the Lost.

Bosses are big and tough, and give out way more items for more players, or alternatively only give out a couple so you have to choose who gets an item. Item rooms would have to give out one item for each player character, or you could go full suffering mode and only have one or two items in there, and the rest of the group has to slum it. Angel Rooms and Devil Deals are determined by how well your group does and maybe how well they roleplay. Not everybody has to go exclusively to the Angel or Devil rooms - virtuous hearts can go to the Angel rooms even if a member of your team has gone to the Devil and vice versa. Everybody has a seperate score of money, bombs and keys. Secret and Super Secret rooms have lots of rewards. Game master determines where they are.

Sound good or horrible?

A resident fa/tg/uy has pointed out, a couple of days ago, that the "stereotypical fantasy setting" we all accept as the standard for fantasy RPGs from which any deviation is notable isn't based on any particular time, place or culture as being a "mishmash of Classical Greek mythology, Victorian representation of medieval Western European folklore and Tolkien."

But what is the correct proportion of each element?
