So, alignment charts eh? Post em if you got 'em. I just spent all of half an hour posting this one. Do you agree disagree with my analysis of world leaders?

Also, I have just randomly rolled a character in 5e... he's a warlock who made some sort of pact with a ancient deity, and yet the background states that he tries to use his powers to help others and has great empathy with all who suffer... yet he has made a dark pact with an elder being (probably yog-sothoth or some other lovecraftian being). I figured chaotic good would be his alignment, but how on earth is he going to maintain that when he's constantly being compelled to do evil things and also probably driven insane?

Fucking alignments yo.

Churchill is objectively Evil, and subjectively Chaotic.

How evil? I admit the bombing of dresden was pretty shitty to be fair but he did a lot of good stuff as a war leader. Don't think I'd consider him to be chaotic although he was known to throw the occasional tantrum.

Can we have a dump of MANLY non-human pc art?

All I know is I want to be manly as fuck but not human. I don't care if they're orcs or minotaurs or some made up stuff, my DM is very relaxed with me. I just want some MANLY, TRIBAL looking badass as fuck dude who I can smash everything to shreds with.

I want a dude who looks like he could wield a pillow into a 1-shot murder weapon.
I want to look manly enough to rip the door off by the handle and then start swinging the door like a giant sword.
I want to look manly enough to open jars of pickles without a grunt.

I don't care if its got horns, tails or scales. Humans may be acceptable if they look especially tribal/wild.

Hello /tg/.

Are there any wargames that have an electronic warfare element? It's something I've had the privilege of learning about a lot over the past year and plays a huge part in warfare but I only have really played Flames of War and dabbled in 40K. FoW's setting doesn't really allow for it and 40K doesn't seem to actually know what it is. Is there anything out there for me?

My sister bought me the D&D 5E Dungeon Master's Guide for Christmas, and asked me to run a game for her and her friends.

I've never DM'd before, and I haven't played a tabletop game in 10 years.

Please advise me.

I'm not worried about creating a campaign, or handling the rules, but I've never run a table before and some of these kids are gonna be entirely new to tabletop.

One thing I'm really interested to hear about is maps. I know there are a billion programs out there to make them--I'm curious as to which one people typically use, if any. Do people usually print the maps out and use them like a game board, or do you keep them for DM reference and just describe the action verbally?

So the main thing is to sex expectations, reward good behavior, and discourage bad behavior. How old are these kids?

As for maps, to be honest, every minute you spend making a map could be spent listening to a podcast of 5E to get more familiar with the system and GMing in general. 5E doesn't require a map at all, but if you need one, just use graph paper and sketch out major walls and areas.

SET expectations. SET expectations, damn it!

I need some help with a classic collection-style quest in writing. Essentially, the PC's need to gather boons from the natural world to drive back invaders. So far I have

>Eye of the Storm
>Heart of the Forest
>The Mountain's Song
>Call of the Wild

They're just idiom based personification used to build an ally to drive back the baddies. What else could I use and what might these things all look like? I want to make something more interesting than just weapons. Maybe the eye of the storm is a silk band that, when wrapped around your eyes, allows you to see and engage beings from other planes who are otherwise invisible, or something like that.

I recently acquired a small pile of 40k minis that are all semi-painted. I've been soaking them in Simple Green and giving them periodic scrubbing with a toothbrush, but some of it (particularly the black paint) only seems to come off when I (lightly) scrape it with a knife.

Pic related; the guy I've gotten the cleanest so far.

Where'd you get that from?

Captchalogue cards have a size limit, not an 'amount of identical items' limit.

At verious points in canon they have piles of random junk thrown in there, and the big block of stacked cans of shaving cream numbered much more than 255.

What's the class you see most often in your groups? Least often?
In my personal experience, there are a lot of fighters and warlocks, plenty of swashbuckler rogues too. But I never see any druids at all.

My group is almost always Rogues, Monks and Bards.
We never had a paladin.
Clerics are rare cause they hate using magic to heal and we almost always have a guy with the healers kit and herbalist kit.

I want to play a Tranquility monk next time

Tranquility Monk/Thief with expertise in medicine and the healers kit + healer feat.

>Sisters of Fattle

Alright, /tg/, I have a DM problem. There is a player in my current group that is becoming problematic. I think the core problem stems from her need to always win/be right. But it's an inferiority thing. She always has to have superior performance or knowledge.

The specific problems I'm having are, in order:

1. She flubs dice rolls. And not, like, ok, this is an important roll, I'll flub it just to be sure this once. No, she never rolls under a 15 on her d20, always rolls within 2-3 of max damage on her damage dice, and it is affecting the game balance. She plays an archer, and with a +15 to-hit, has missed an AC 27 2/9 times in a fight. She attributed those to her third shot in each round being a +10 instead of a +15. Her damage, which should be d8+d6+12, hasn't come out to under a 23. I'm running them through Age of Worms. And it's gotten to the point where I add hit points to the enemies AND give them a spell effect that gives her arrows a 50% miss chance that I control. She's upsetting game balance.

2. She's driving off players. My own sister, /tg/. My sister would love to play DnD with me and my friends, but this player always has to one-up everybody, and drives my sister away. She has repeatedly stated that she'd love to play if this player wasn't there.

Now, the dilemma. She lives with the other people I play with. She's their roommate. So I can't realistically ask her not to play. Moreover, when I bring up the subject of flubbing her dice rolls, or ask that she roll them where everyone can clearly see them, she becomes angry and confrontational. Everyone at the table knows she is lying about her dice. But she refuses to acknowledge that.

I'm planning to kill her character. I even know how I'm going to do it. And she will either get pissed at me and refuse to play anymore, or she will bitch and moan and whine and demand to have her character back. Which will not happen.

How would you handle it, /tg/?
67 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Killing her character isn't going to solve anything. You've already established that she's in control at the table by tolerating cheating and letting your own sister be pushed away by this person.

You need to have an honest conversation about this with everyone and not back down. If the end result is that there will be no changes to her behavior, then you need to start looking for a new group.

If it were me, I would have stopped this whole issue as soon as I discovered that the player is cheating. Unexcuseable.
>>
>>50904490
Why does your sister hate her? If the only thing she actually does is flub rolls then it sounds like onee-chan is just being catty.
>>
>>50904490
Implement a new rule, all dice must be rolled openly in the middle of the table for everyone to see. No one rolls dice until the GM tells them to.

Use OOC (backspace say" in the bottom, type OOC and hit enter, or: http://i.imgur.com/RodAGGZ.png), which means Out Of Character chat, and ask someone for help on how to play. People will almost always help you get a grip of the game if you're polite about it, just don't reveal too much in-round information in OOC.
There's also wikis dedicated to documenting the spaceman way of life, but they vary widely from server to server.

>What are the rules?
The rules are very relaxed and admins try to take a hands-off approach to administrating. Admins will generally only intervene if someone is explicitly playing to ruin the game. Reminder to read the rules in-game.

>What map/code do you run?
We run a heavily modified Ministation map with mostly custom code. Most jobs on Ministation are merged with similar counterparts and head roles have been re-enabled.

The server is mostly populated with Americlaps, so peak times are usually between 7pm-3am EST

Usually admins/coders for the server.

Hey fa/tg/uys, any tips for a first time DM?

Currently worldbuilding for a campaign that blends Mesoamerican and Norse mythology with metal concept albums. System will likely be 13th Age.

That's a good shoop.
I'd say, have a definitive focus for the theme & tone of your game (while being open to what your players want) but be willing & able to think on the fly. Don't go into it thinking the adventure has to follow a certain very specific path, but keep the essential elements (theme & tone) constant so the players know what game you're trying to play without having to force them into a particular narrative.
>>
>>50916125
Dont try and write a rigid path your players have to follow, but rather try and know the motivation and goals of your NPCs, that way, no matter what the party does, you know how the NPC would react. Is it your first time playing at all, or do you just gm for the first time? What about your players, are they first timers?
