IMO eucatastrophe relies on something happening that is feasible, if unexpected. For example, your pic related works because God's immense power is continually displayed throughout the movie, so it's not out of the realm of possibility for him to split the Red Sea.

An asspull, on the other hand, is something that is unexpected, infeasible, and/or ruins the rest of the story via fridge logic. A lot of sci-fi/horror movies fall into this category.

You can't make them great again. You failed to introduce them in an interesting way that conveyed just how monstrous these creatures are, and fucked up the first impression. It's also the fault of your players for playing the game like a hack and slash.

Massively lower the power level.

Give them a Y-splat that actually means something.

Give them actual things to do, and challenges outside the Underworld.

Refocus the game around being a psychopomp and having to actually resolve the issues of the dead rather than just steamrolling them with their unstoppable superpowers.

As I said, I'm going to be re-posting this for the next few threads so as to ensure maximum exposure. Let's call it two more threads, don't want to wear out my welcome.

Anyway...

FINALLY...it's done. The Vampire Monster Manual. 108 pages worth of generic NPCs for you to throw at the peons who show up to your games. I mean the player troupe. Whatever.

56 Clan vampires, 18 Bloodline vampires, 17 ghouls, 17 other supernaturals, 29 mortals, and 23 animals. A total of 160 NPCs, suitable for any chronicle taking place in the modern day.

Remember that these are meant to be generic things to throw at your troupe, NOT a replacement for hand-crafting a character for your chronicle yourself. The Prince and Primogen and so on of your main city should be made to your specifications. But when your chucklefuck players decide that, no, they don't want to stay in Boston, they really do need to go over to Worcester for God knows what reason. Or start a fight with the pizza delivery guy that they themselves called over to their lair. Or whatever.

It depends a lot on the campaign and the flavor. I roll play high combat dungeon crawl probably had no use for it, while a low combat investigation campaign might have a lot of uses.

Don't underestimate how useful cleaning is.

I have plans on being the GM for a Star Wars rpg session, and I was thinking of giving them a small ship to start off with. And that is would be a Wayfarer Transport ship (pic related). But are there any other ship options to choose from? Or is the Wayfarer the best one?

Hi, /srg/!

So I stated the conventional Tomahawk missile in Shadowrun 5E for fun also because I plan on throwing one at my players for laughs.

I had to base it off of something in the book, obviously. I figured that high explosive rockets would be the military standard for explosives put into rockets/conventional warheads. Because Shadowrun doesn't actually have a weight system, let's pretend that 1 rocket equals 1 kilogram because that makes it easy.

An HE rocket deals 21 damage, -2ap, and -2/m. Because of how explosives work in Shadowrun 5E is Rating = DV, which would mean that an HE rocket contains 1 kilogram of rating 21 plastic explosives.

Doing a basic search, the weight of the charge located in the warhead of a Tomahawk missile is exactly 450 kilograms. That means that a Tomahawk warhead has 450 kilograms of Rating 21 explosives. According to the rules of Shadowrun, the damage value of an explosive is the Rating of the explosive times the square root of the number of kilograms used rounded down. Square root of 450 (rounded down) is 21.

This means that a Tomahawk missile would have a DV of 441, with -2ap, and -2/m. But this gets better.

The rules of Run & Gun, page 176 state that a large enough explosion creates a background count. So far, the highest statted explosion is 25kg of rating 25 explosives that does 80 DV with a background count generation of 3.

Background count increases to by 1 for every 20 points of DV over 35 but it caps out at 3 for normal explosives unless you put "exotic matierls" like a dirty bomb, chemical weapons, astral bacteria. If you decide to do that, then the background count of the detonation would be 20. If it kills anybody, it would create a permanent background count of 20. That means that a 441 meter mana void.

TL;DR: A Tomahawk missile in Shadowrun would have a damage value of 441. If built in a special way, can create mana voids.
