This week's Monday Meeting Notes:
http://theonyxpath.com/werewolf-there-wolf-monday-meeting-notes/
>Question
How would you improve your least favorite gameline? (other than removing it)
>>51432651
>MAGE SUPREMACY
>>51432651
I'd remove all the weird gas lighting and self justification that Beast tried to do with its half rewrite.
>>51432651
>Beast
Morality stat about not being a total shithead.
Acknowledge you're a fucking monster, just like Vampires.
No crossover bullshit, completely write out the Dark Mother.
Make their Beasts more obviously powerful Goetia.Make them a minor template, there's no room, either game-wise, or creativtly, for an entire new fucking cosmology.
How's this for an explanation as to why vampires are weak to holy charms:
They are the bearer's will and strong belief that the vampire should not be allowed to exist manifested into a single item like a cross.
Why can't the belief manifest in any other item?
Can't it be that god exists and his holy items ward off evil?
>>51431409
The beliefs of the bearer is strong enough to harm supernatural beings should be good enough. Also, it depends on the setting.
I don't have the time to fact check right now, but one thing I forgot is, what was happening with the Mror Holds throughout the Last War? Specifically, were there any conflicts with the Karrnath in the last two decades of the war or so? I thought about a character who was raised in the east Karrnath, but being from the House Deneith had to fight on the side of dwarves.
Also Eberron discussion.
>>51431235
Talenta first, Talenta best
>>51431262
Artifice from the start of this.
Also I love the way they flavored Monks.
>>51431235
I wouldn't trust this if I were you because it has been years, but I believe there very, very few conflicts between the two because Karrnath needed the mineral resources of the Mror Holds and were too deadlocked with Breland to dedicate enough men to bring Mrorananhold back in line. Kaius pretty quickly made peace with them in exchange for their continued cooperation, if memory serve, but their secession is part of why he was eager to end the war.
You are a police detective. By itself, two teens dying in a car crash isn't suspicious. But when two of their friends die within minutes of the fatal crash in two different locations, and a fifth teen goes absolutely bugfuck after witnessing one of these deaths, you begin investigating.
You find more and more evidence to suggest to you that all four deaths were murders--and in fact they were premeditated. There are some facts about the case that seem unusual, even bizarre, but you're focused on finding your prime suspect and bringing her in.
Finally, after almost a week of contradictory facts and seeming dead ends, you almost accidentally stumble upon the girl you think is responsible for four murders alone in a room.
Wat do?
>>51430669
Blow her face off with a shotgun.

You're an unread moron, that's all anon. It's okay, you can find someone nice to play 4e with sometime.

Not treating daemons and demons as different races.

Do you have a favorite MTG artist or era of design? Do you go out of your way to find specific artwork sometimes?
Also, post dank tribal tech now that Metallic Mimic is a thing

>Do you have a favorite MTG artist or era of design? Do you go out of your way to find specific artwork sometimes?
I will admit to knowing almost nothing about MtG artists. There's a few pieces I like enough that I'd want to have them on a playmat, though.

I love mike kerr's work
>Be a goblin
>Your tribe has successfully raided a small village, killing a few humans, raping some of their women, and stealing whatever valuables you could find
>You've had lots of good luck in raids lately; before too long, they'll hire some adventurers to get rid of you
>That's why you're on guard duty, watching the forest to warn the others when you spot a party of pesky adventures approaching the cave
>Guard duty is boring
>Or at least it was, until someone suddenly pressed the tip of a dagger to your throat
>"Shhh, make a sound and you're dead."
>Oh shit, an adventurer snuck up on you
>"How many are in the cave?"
>"T-wenty."
>The tip of the dagger presses harder, drawing a dot of blood on your neck
>"Fifty!"
>"Better. How many are outside?"
>"Three. P-plus me!"
>"Hmmm. Taking on that many goblins will be hard... and I can't have you warning the others."
>Oh gods, here it comes; you're dead now
>The adventurer shoves you down on your hands and knees and you can hear his armor clanking as he messes with his gear
>If you can just reach your club...
>The dagger is back at your throat
>"Now now, let's not turn this rape into a murder."
>You pull your hand away from your club and- wait, did he say ra-
>Your loincloth is roughly pulled aside and you feel something fleshy pressing against your anus
>Oh gods WHAT IS HAPPENING
>He clamps one hand over your mouth to muffle your shrieks as he penetrates your asshole
>Humans are much bigger than goblins; your ass wasn't built for this
>The pain and humiliation as he roughly fucks you from behind is excruciating; you actually pass out once or twice, but the pounding always brings you back
>He finally grunts in release and pulls out, wiping his dick off with your loincloth
>Your mother made you that loincloth
>Weeping openly, you weakly curl into a fetal position, feeling the blood, semen, and shit leaking from your devastated anus
>Why
>>51420033
>"Now, at this point, you've got two options: you can keep quiet and not say a word, or you can run back to your cave and warn everyone... at which point you'll have to tell them about how you got raped by an adventurer."
>Oh gods WHY
>"But you know the best part?"
>He leans in close and whispers in your ear
>"No one will ever believe you."
>He buckles his armor back together and then casually, but silently, disappears into the forest again
>You have no idea how long you lay there sobbing, but it was probably hours
>Finally, you gather the strength to crawl back to the cave; it hurts too much to walk
>You crawl into the cave and call out for help, but no one comes
>Crawling deeper into the cave, your eyes adjust to the darkness and you can see...
>Your entire tribe, dead
>Their bodies have been posed in disgusting, sexual positions, parents copulating with children, men with other men, the chieftain is giving himself a blowjob with his decapitated head
>All of them have been decapitated
>And their heads have been arranged to spell out FAGGOT
>You break down crying again
>And they call you the monster
>>51420077

Was his supposed to elicit Sympathy or pity from me? Because let me tell you, you screwed that up on the second sentence. I feel more kinship with the Demon working with me, than with the Angel working against me.I bet you secretly still finger yourself at night while rembering it, don't you you disgusting little faggot monster.

Hello, I am one of the main contributing anons to this project, one thing ot make sure this doesn't get forgotten to the winds, is to make a 14dchan page. Also, oen thing we forgot is to come up with a name. Any aspiring drawfags who wan't to contribute could help create a map.
>>51414557
Well I would if i new how im the Rumar OP that is very dumb suiting for character aslso yes name is very important
>>51414591
well find out
What are some things a beginner GM can do to make a game enjoyable for their players? What are some things a GM must absolutely never do? I'm gonna be running a game of VtM for a few buddies and want to make it enjoyable for all of us.
never tell your players they aren't allowed to do something. if you aren't sure about something they want to do just make it harder for them to do but not impossible. I once had a shit gm who ran a few sessions of vtm who absolutely refused to allow any of the players to pick any clan that wasn't one of the original thirteen simply because he didn't like them. simply but, don't be an asshole gm that just likes fucking his players.
>>51406017I just started playing the game a few days ago after eyeing it for a while and I love it. Dorothy and Stella are best girls
here op this will help you, I also have a beginners advice screepccap that I always found helpful.
>>51406017
>>51406168
here's the other bit of advice
Character art
Old thread:
>>51353055
Requesting dinosaur-style lizardmen, especially those in the vein of raptors/dromeosaurs, either Jurassic Park-y or psuedorealistic.
Pic unrelated.
Storythread: 'Don't you die on me!' edition. The last thread met an unfortunately premature demise, but that just means that this week we're all going to have to write twice as much.
This is a thread for creative writing, so epic campaign greentexts and the like go elsewhere. If you have /tg/ related stories to post, post them here, and hopefully some kind anon will give you feedback (or at least acknowledge that someone did actually read it, which let's face it is what writefags really want).
If you don't have a story ready then I and other anons will be posting pictures throughout the thread for you to test your writing skills on. This is, more or less, a world-building and character-building exercise: two vital skills for playing roleplaying games. If you don't have any pics to post, you could try posting an idea for a setting or a character, and maybe someone will be willing to write a story using it. It's also an exercise in writing though, where writefags can try out their material and gain inspiration, so if you just want to talk about world-building save it for the world-building threads.
Remember that writefags love to have feedback on their work. Writing takes a long time, especially stories that go over several posts, and it can be really depressing when no one even seems to read it (and the writer won't know you read it unless you leave a comment).
And since writing takes a long time remember to keep the thread bumped. Pics are good, feedback is better.
And finally, don't forget to check out past stories on our wiki page:
http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Storythread
Hooray! You're back!
>>51309072
Every other Friday, same as always. I did think about starting a thread last Friday when the old one 404'd so early, but I decided that it was easier to keep to the schedule.
>>51309072
incidentally, it's nice to see someone cares. It's kind of disheartening when I have to watch the thread 24/7 to keep in from dying.
I just realized, I don't know the first thing about gemstones. Whenever I pick up a pre-written module, it always has some gemstone name listed that I've never heard of. Whenever I DO add them to games, I just go by Ruby, Sapphire, Emeralds, and Diamonds, and the price is never consistent cause I don't know how much they're priced in the real world.
>>51444354
So instead of trying to educate yourself or learn something you could find on google, you just sit around being dumb?
>>51444401
Oh, whoops.
*Is there a good place to read up on gemstones and relative value.
>>51444452
Don't know online ones offhand, learned from physical books. Going in from scratch, know that gems can get complicated fast.
Colour, cut, clarity, and carat are a good place to start with diamonds. Remember than minerals, like jade are also gems. A well-polished piece made by a skilled jeweler can go for higher than a more "valuable," rock cut badly. Many times, colour is caused by characteristic impurities, leading to different levels of colour, even if the gems would be classified the same way, chemically speaking.
Rule of thumb, the rarer and more lustrous something is in your setting, the more valuable; especially if you want to start using economic shenanigans.
That should be enough searchable terms for you to start reading. Time to go digging, enjoy your shiny rocks.
Pick a d&d setting. What non-d&d system would you use to run that setting and what would the campaing premise be?
For example, Eberron using Savage Worlds. The campaing is all about exploring Xendric trying to get a powerful artifact that would allow House Cannith to create a new kind of powerful warforged.
Another example could be Dark Sun using GURPS, trying to emulate the harsh lives of caravan guards driving off raiders from trading rutes.

Probably FantasyCraft, because I like both of those things.
>>51441684
I love Fantasycraft too, it's awesome for eberron
