Your Party encounters a Wild Drill Dog Ready to attack!
Quickly what's your course of Action?
>>51462729
One drill dog isn't anything to worry about. It's when you open a door in a dungeon and there is inexplicitly 25 of the bleeding things on the other side that things get hairy.
I immediately bring out the seismograph and make sure there aren't any more drill dogs moving to block our escape route from underground.
>>51462729
And the GM called me a fetishist for choosing to play a duckfolk. My penis will drill the opposite way of the drilldog and counter his rotation.
Are "souls" a tangible thing in your setting? What are they? Can you do anything with them?
>>51462394
Oh... really?
Nothing about the fade is simple.
Especially not THAT.
>>51462394
Souls are the reason why people have levels and HP and shit.
>>51462394
In my setting "Souls" are a terrible series of video games that inexplicably have fans who won't stop raving about how hardcore they are.

I wish there was some program or website I could use to create a roster.
How does this look for my local league? Just added a few things to my standard sisters list.
The rhino's are Repressors (13/11/10, 3HP, 8 fire points, Dozer Blade)
Is there some sort of program to help with creating armylists? A roster creator of sorts?

Define "non-standard."
Do you mean like, an einhander barbarian with fluffed rage as combat focus, or something?

There's a few light indie systems for heisting, One Last Job for example. Fiasco could be used as well, I guess?
I guess you could try to do some kind of Shadowrun 3e conversion, without the scifi/fantasy elements, if you want more crunch to the system, but that swould take some serious work...
Different anon, but I think that One Last Job looks really good for it!

Can I get a dice shopping thread? I want some tiny dice (of all flavors), but Chessex only makes the tiny d6's as far as I'm aware. And I go to thinking: is Chessex even the best place for dice in general? I really only know of them and game science.
What're some lesser known high tier places to buy dice from. Tell me your brand loyalties, /tg/
>>51461729
Chessex's biggest competition is Wiz Dice. Quality wise, either are about the same, though Chessex are a bit larger and Wiz Dice can be slightly cheaper. Also they orient the numbers on d4s differently; Chessex has the upright number at the vertex of the die, Wiz Dice at the base.
I don't know that either makes mini polyhedral dice.
>>51461729
>>51463278
One way in which the two companies go head-to-head is with their respective grab-bags, the Chessex Pound o' Dice versus the Wiz Dice 100+ pack. Both come with one guaranteed matched set of 7 dice, and then a 'random' assortment. I've bought one of each, myself. The Wiz Dice came with 9 complete sets of 7 dice plus the guaranteed one, making for 10 complete sets total, plus a bunch that were nearly complete. Also the guaranteed set came in a faux-velvet bag. Apparently that's unusually low for Wiz Dice; most reviewers report getting 13 or more complete sets.
The Chessex Pound came with one complete set in addition to the guaranteed one, which came in a plain brown envelope, and as for the rest the breakdown was 4 d12s, 7d4s, 8d20s, 8 mini d6s with pips, 6d6s (standard size) with pips, 12 d6s with numerals, 10d8s, and 33(!)d10s. And also a big translucent d8 and d12 with un-inked numbers and sharp corners.
So if you were ever thinking about buying either, I'd recommend the Wiz Dice 100+ pack if you wanted to outfit several people with standard 7 dice sets, or the Chessex Pound if you wanted a shitload of d10s and d6s and don't care at all about matching sets.
I bought fifty d6s for five bucks at the fucking Dollar Store. Whereas my dumbass friend shelled out twenty bucks for pic related. I will never understand my fellow gamers' urge to waste money. Dice are such a racket it's unbeleivable. Some of these fuckers spend 20 or 30 bucks on a single set of dice that are metal and most DMs will ban them because they scratch up the fucking table.
Question? Why play white scars when Raven wing exist?
Like what advantage is there to playing white scars, that the Dangles dont have?
Theyre a completely different list. Its like saying why play Grey Knights when space wolves exist.

why play any space marine army when raven guard exist?

"Anime RPGs."
BESM.
OVA.
Some other obscure, indie games you can buy off DriveThruRPG or RPGNow.
Why do these exist? What could possibly drive someone to think, "Hmmm, yes, this system can emulate high school slice of life, super robot mecha, fighty magical girls, shonen fighters, gritty seinen, and sports anime equally well!"?
How are these any different from bland, lifeless, generic RPGs?
At least "superhero RPGs" have a vague point, namely in that "superhero" is a rough genre and not an entire medium.
>>51456522
>Why do these exist?
Because someone will buy it. Because there is a market.
>>51456522
Because lets be honest, D20 is getting a little fucking stale nowadays and if people think they have ideas on how to do things better, they're welcome to put their idea out there and see what people think.
I mean, otherwise, it's just like the games industry. Why have an indie game market when we can just play a new Call of Duty every year. Do people actually other bland lifeless generic games any fun?
>TL;DR, OP is retarded.
>>51456522
>What could possibly drive someone to think, "Hmmm, yes, this system can emulate high school slice of life, super robot mecha, fighty magical girls, shonen fighters, gritty seinen, and sports anime equally well!"?
Very poor analytical and critical thinking skills. Since most western anime fans just tend to like it because it looks "exotic" compared to their own domestic cartoons, they don't put any thought into how anime tells stories differently than what they're used to and attempt to incorporate that into their games. Big Eyes Small Mouth even lampshades this in its name; "anime" roleplaying is all about superficial differences. It's GURPS or D&D but your characters have big eyes. That's the only difference they think matters.
>How are these any different from bland, lifeless, generic RPGs?
Desperate (and sadly, usually successful) attempts at delusional branding and identitarian marketing.

When it comes to a board game collection - how much is to much? (I.e. what is your ideal sized collection? Or is more a matter of "As soon as I buy that warehouse, I'll expand my collection so more." )
Also - anything new you're looking to add to your collection?

The guy who asked about Mall of Horror here, I looked around a bit about the new version of the game, City of Horror, and most of the reviews are positive, and almost everyone agree that its overall better than MoH.
Anyone has any experience with the game?
Would you recommend?
Anything similar to this game that does it better?
Like I mentioned before, me and my group are big fans of Cutthroat Caverns, so the whole backstabby - take that genre works for us.

I haven't played Mall of Horror or City of Horror so I can't give you direct feedback on that. Is there anything in particular you're looking for in a 'Zombie' game? Co-op? Horror? Possible betrayal?

That's why you get "real games" that normies can still enjoy. I recommend Catan because it has good brand recognition while still being a decent game that actually requires thought.
>Oh jeez anon, I dunno, your nerd games seem kinda complicated and weird
>Oh wait, Catan? Haha, just like Big Bang Theory!
Catan converted my family so they were willing to try other games and ended up enjoying them. You just gotta ease them into it.
so if you were tossed into the Warhammer 40k Universe which factions would you want to be apart of? (note: you will become a member of the race you choose)

your combo won't save your ass if you can't get it out. Always have plenty of options to deal with people.
This isn't a single-player mode after all.
>>51450488
>What's your opinion when it comes to including removal?
Don't clog your deck up with it, but you should be packing a little removal for literally every permanent type you can touch in your color(s), just in case.
>How do you balance between advancing your game plan and having answers?
Unless it's going to generate massive advantage immediately, I keep my removal held up until I know I need to use it to stop an opponent from fucking me up or running off with the whole game.
Post your favorite removal, lads
What's the point of 3.5/Pathfinder when 5th edition DnD exists?
Can't you just magical realm in the new edition?
>>51448459
Although 5th edition does have a lot of perks over 3.5/Pathfinder when it comes to the base rules structure, it doesn't have nearly as many options thus less speshul monster girl waifu races.
Although some argue that's a good thing.
>>51448459
3.pf satisfies a certain level of crunch and mechanical rules that 5e doesnt. In addition, 5es lore is very often fuckign terrible, destroying or neutering tons of lore from past editions.
The rules are also shit.
It's also incredibly fucking bland and boring.
>>51448553
I see your well thought out opinion and counter with the following:
3.PF's crunchy satisfaction comes from the idea that more options and biggers numbers means better gameplay. Which is far from the truth. Also, Said lore was is and will always be shit, so ejecting large portions of it to encourage GMs to fill in the blanks is a good thing.
So are 3.PF's what is your point?
So is 3.PF's what is your point?
OP asked why play 3.PF when 5E exists. The only thing 3.5E can do that 5E can't do is waifufag it up. And everything 5E does do has half or less paperwork.
