Dear /tg/,
How would you personally go about making a setting that took place entirely within an enormous biodome?
Easy mode: Science Fiction setting.
Hard Mode: Medieval (high or low- your choice) Fantasy setting.
Wild Mode: Little bit of both genre.

Hello /tg/! I'm here seeking for advice and ideas for the next campaign that I'll run: an eastern campaign!
What kind of myths or stories could I use for inspiration?
What kind of creatures, spirits, races, animals or monsters could appear as NPCs?

I've got some advice for you.
Be real fucking careful about your players. All it takes is one obnoxious armchair historyfag to ruin it for everyone by constantly whining about "inaccuracies" and trying to take advantage of cultural quirks from wherever the setting is based that might not actually be true in-setting. Either know the people you're playing with, go full historical, or be ready to shut that shit down quick.

Right now I'm playing the party "leader" and face, although my character is reluctant to consider himself the former.
I'm trying to encourage the party to gather some kind of formation in combat to help protect squishier players while exposing our front-liners to enemies. I know you can do the loose "melee front, ranged/caster in the back" motif, but that is far from perfect.
Does anyone have any good examples of party formations that we can adopt to keep our shit together? On more than one occasion we've been a bit spread out and exposed/flanked (in the literal sense, not the game sense).

I am throwing high level players into a lair of a cult that is trying to summon something big and scary. Problem is, I don't really know what to throw at them.
What kinds of things do you like to put in your cults? What strange, terrifying creatures might be worthy of a big cult?

>DM sets up a mini-campaign for about a month's worth of sessions, where we all play fictional versions of ourselves with classes (think the D&D cartoon)
>DM & I are university-trained actors from the same facility; my speciality was/is comedic acting, monologue and vocal performances at volume with a massive, booming voice - the DM was my director for many pieces in our old amateur theatre company
>I'm physically the largest and strongest of the group, so I pick Cleric and choose to tank
>As we're rolling up ourselves and looking up skills, I jokingly ask my DM if I can get 1d4 AoE force damage if I bellow at my enemies whilst using Prestidigitation to amplify it to three times its normal volume
>DM looks at me curiously for a few seconds, and then agrees
>End up using this as an emergency weapon to great effect in all the sessions in this mini-campaign

>when I start with a new group I always make them play as humans before any supernatural creatures in a 'horror' or 'mystery' type of games (Cthulhu style)

Do you use this kind of scenarios often ?
Examples I've used :
>government uses Changelings to make some precise people sleepwalk to solve problems they can't handle officially
>set during prohibition, mafia teaming up with vampires for them to keep away cops from drinking places (which become drinking places for them too)
>during Franco's reign in Spain, government is taking children from poor (non-Franquist) families to give them to rich (Franquist) families "for them to livebetter lifes" but a part of these agents are taking the children to perform some twisted magic

I noticed a trend in the Gathering of the Storm books. Each of the two factions that form the focus on the book lose something or have something bad happen to them.

Assuming the other books follow the same trend, what will happen to the other factions? What are they going to lose for plot progress?

I have a question about high talents, do you acquire ONLY on Levels multiple of 5? Or can you acquire after you reached either Level 5 or 10 on any other level? This is incredibly important.

Hello! You may acquire them only on multiples of 5. So in effect you get 4 High Talents total, not counting the two automatically acquired ones at level 10 and 20. You can also choose not to take a High Talent at any of those levels (but who would...)
Also if you hit level 10, you can take either a level 5 or a 10 High Talent, and when you hit 15 you can take a 15, 10, or 5 Talent, and so on.
