The Marines Superior are a relatively small Astartes Chapter based on the feudal world of Mycelium. Due to amorously relationships between the original chapter master of the Marines Superior and the founding matriarch of the planet's noble dynasty, the chapter has a long-standing oath to protect and serve Mycelian Royalty, perhaps even, as certain rumours have it, before the Emperor himself.
Regardless, the Marines Superior have proved themselves time and time again to be a versatile and highly effective fighting force, having successfully driven back a local WAAAAAGH!! lead by the fearsome Freeboota Kupp'a Da King on numerous occasions, foiling his numerous plots to kidnap the royal family.
Tactically, the Marines Superior focus on versatility and unorthodox methods of achieving constant mobility in order to respond and adapt to any circumstance. Each and every Battle Brother of the chapter is fitted with miniature jump packs fitted into their armour as well as earthshaking "Power Boots" to better trample the foes of man underfoot.
Members of the Marines Superior are trained in the use of multiple separate load-outs, and are well known for swapping gear in the heat of battle to augment the chapter's tactics of extreme adaptability.
One iconic example of this is the elite company of Assault Marines known as the Feathered Capes, who employ gilded jump packs to augment their already impressive jumps to true soaring heights. The capes themselves act not merely to mark a Marine as a member of this group, but also as limited parachutes; stiffening like a glider to extend the radius of the Feathered Cape's power jump.

Almost forgot, old thread: >>51639097
I'm a fan of Stimhack in Professor. Just what could push a man who loves learning and research so far as to drive him to purposely give himself incurable brain damage? Was it to prevent the corp from merging with his university? Is he trying to keep his kids from getting carted off by the cleaners? It chills my spine.
Still willing to pay 50 bucks for a TD playtesting file and my mail is still [email protected] send me proof and paypal adress.
Also feel free to ask me anything.
So which of the 2 corps will players be picking first for their 42 corp campaign?
Human civilizations favor rivers and coasts, elves prefer forests, etc.
But in a high-magic setting, full of ley lines, ley points, places of power, stationary portals, and pools of D&D 3.X-style elemental weirds, would we see more civilizations prioritize building their settlements around mystical resources rather than mundane ones?
>>51833864
Yeah.
>>51833864
>Can't build on the ley lines because it runs through an elven forest.
>Build a sky-city above them to receive the power of the ley lines instead.

My gf, and sister wanna start playing board games, so I picked up settlers of catan and zombie dice. Anything else I should grab to get complete beginners into board games?
>>51829465
Carcassonne, Blokus (2 player), Hanabi, and Tsuro
>>51829465
Splendor is an excellent intro game. On the other hand, Settlers of Catan isn't.
I always thought Zombies!!! was pretty fun and easy to learn.
Do people ever talk about chess on this board
>>51829273
Occasionally. The issue is that anyone not of a high-level of familiarity is quickly lost in high-level conversation, and high-level players generally have an approximately equal understanding of the game, and thus very little to discuss.
Personally I'm a casual player; only a handful of openings learned, and while I deeply enjoy a game of chess I often find discussion of it boring.
Yes, but it's hard to shitpost so it dies quickly
>>51829273
I don't play solved games. Houserules are the only way to have fun with this system.
How do you find a game online that isn't full of complete autists? Roll20 lfg seems to be cesspool. I DM a session already, I just want to play the game.
>>51828412
Check the gamefinder thread here on /tg/.
Check out reddit too, depending on your game of choice.
>inb4 reddit
Go to the boards/threads that focus on that specific topic and you're fine.
Networking. Networking networking networking.
Get to know people, make friends, try shit out. Join games without getting too invested because they'll probably suck or fall through but as long as you meet one other player you get on with, it's worth it.
Keep doing this. Keep in touch, keep searching until you get a circle of people who get along, share your preferences and are fun to game with.
It's how I did it. Took a long time and for me it wasn't exactly intentional, wandering between drama filled IRC hub channels and various other communities, finding cool people amongst the shitheads along the way until I dragged them all together into a community which, so far, has been pretty fucking awesome for me.
>>51828870
Just made a post on the game finder thread. Cheers.
If fae magic works just fine with technology (Summer Knight Fix is a technician) and the fae are fine with using technology (the gruffs use SMGs), then why are there no changeling/fae technomancers channeling their magic through non-ferrous devices?
Please don't tell me you're looking for any logic, reason, or sense from the Dresden Files.
>>51827773
>If fae magic works just fine with technology (Summer Knight Fix is a technician)
Does he fix shit with magic? Or does he fix shit and also do magic?
Also, there are none because fae find that boring as shit. They don't care about humans as anything other than toys. Changelings turn into fae way faster than they would develop skill with magitech.
>>51827773
Summer Knight Fix isn't a wizard. Or a sorcerer. Or even a one-trick shapeshifter. He doesn't do magic. Presumably, if he could use magic, he would only be able to do so without any side effects if he chose to become fully fae which he may not be able to do now that he is the Summer Knight, a mantle that is supposed to be worn by a mortal.
Don't ask me about that thing with Molly though. I haven't anything to back up any claims about her.
>>51828023
Also, this. Butcher basically writes using the rule of cool. Plus he's already justified it by making the rules his magic works by amorphous and constantly changing so really he can do whatever he wants.
Besides which, Dresden is an unreliable narrator who just happens to be correct enough for you to forget that most of the time.
A close friend just recently lost a friend to... infuriating circumstances. I'd like to cheer him up and/or just distract him from what happened. What kind of game should I run? We all know a few systems so system doesn't matter.

>>51825055

I swear I see this guy every other campaign, be it as a PC bard or a background NPC on a virtual tabletop. People just google "bard" and pick this smug asshole every time.
>>51825055
"adventurers" are quintessentially bums and as we know most bums that go around killing everything in sight generally don't get to do much "adventuring" before they're murdered or locked in prison.
Camping on the streets and playing some tunes while occasionally tagging along with some wacky types is the closest you'll ever get to IRL adventuring. (just watch the junkies)
When you are poor, or you do not like the official models, or you have kids around the house. Some kid toys are pretty well sculpted, and with some work the can be turned into pretty cool things. Show here your best toy conversion.

Yes. The protagonist, Mike's primary point of contact with the world (until he learns to simulate voice and video), agrees to start a rebellion when Mike tells him the probability of success is over a certain threshold.
>>51823422
Yeah, because people already wanted to do it
What was the fastest mass party killing you've ever experienced in a fair, reasonable way?
My party just lost 2/3 guys to a suitcase of C4 on session 3. Admittedly, it was also detonated by the lone survivor to kill some Slenderman/Resident Evil Iron Maiden hybrid horror in the process.
Playing Dark heresy, disembark from a drop ship for our group of acolytes to be raked with a burst heavy bolter fire...
enough degress of success to hit everyone in the group, TPK session 2 after spending session 1 traveling on a ship to destination planet doing shitty small menial tasks only to be executed by firing squad as soon as the door opens.
>>51812527
I'd love to watch that encounter play out.
>>51812664
it was 15 minutes setup and settle into game, 10 minutes describe the planet as the shuttle approached the surface, 5 minutes GM rolling attacks and players rolling critical damage effects then 2 of the guys just sighed and went home.
it's at that point the group realised despite the GMs love the 40k universe and amazing scene setting skills he was too much of a tabletop gamer to run a game that wasnt going to just be combat encounters all night every week.
