Thread 2!
So, what is all this well its an effort to build a game using the kartharsys system(Degenesis) to emulate the recent Game known as Horizon: Zero Dawn.
As of right now we have completed the cultures and their bonuses as well as five basic classes and have begun to develop the progression trees. Discussion and discourse is always welcome but let's try to keep on topic, not feed the troll and build towards something pretty cool! And, not die by snapmaw.
>>52113817
and as of right now the paltry pdf.
>>52114032
better then nothing, sadly I'm more of a fluff man myself, I can present ideas to help maintain a dose of energy, but not really crunch
>>52114057
Either is fine, Right now we could use some good solid descriptions of the tribes actually. get them nice and fleshy first and then work our way outward.
How grimdark of a setting is nature?
>>52112188
Fairly grim, at times. Look at shit like cordyceps or parasitic wasps.
It isn't grimdark, nobledark, or noblebright; it just is.
>>52112188
Insanely.
And worse than Australia.

Did they make Jhoira of the Ghitu black?
>>52107139
The Ghitu were always swarthy sand people.
>>52107139
is that lovisa coldeye?
>>52107139
No, they represented her as having swarthy skin, which she always has.
The Ghitu are a desert people, Anon. Stop being retarded.
Good morning and welcome back!
How does pic related work with fiery confluence? I know it can OHKO any opponent who played a Blasphemous Act.
>>52090255
It works poorly with Confluence, because unlike Blasphemous Act, it's three separate instructions.
The best it'll do is stop the damage from the first "do damage" instruction on the spell. In the case of Fiery Confluence, that'll probably be the "1 damage to all creatures" mode, but just that first mode. If they pick that mode 3 times, Reflect Damage will stop the first half-a-Pyroclasm and throw it all right back at the Confluence's controller, but the next two will hit just fine.

Can mind bend change the color of a permanent?
I see a lot of That Guy stories here, what about some that DM/GM stories?
>Playing a female Wasteland Soldier, bent on revenge for dead family
>Other characters are a midget technician/doctor and a cyborg hacker, mine is the only woman
>Setting is a 'Grimdark' post-apoc cyberpunk
>First game, none of our characters have met yet
>The midget gets drugged with a literally impossible save DC roofie and is going to be raped in the skeezy bar for no fucking reason
>Me "Well, I have to go help him. I-"
>GM "But you're evil."
>Me "There aren't any alignments in this game. And she is still lawful neutral if you have to name it."
>GM "No, everyone in the game has to be evil. You can't be neutral because you can still choose to be good"
I convinced him that was fucking dumb and continued stopping the arbitrary rape scene in the first 30 minutes
>I slide up and roll to persuade the guy to fuck off, but ready my gun
>"You saddle up to him, and he notices your low cut shirt and-"
>"What? She's a soldier. Why the fuck is she wearing a low cut shirt? I specifically bought armor."
>"Well, how are you going to convince him otherwise?"
Our game lasted 4 sessions.
>>52085421
4 too long I see. Also mandatory kek for midget rape scene
>>52085446
I was desperate for a live game. I acknowledge my shame.
The games also included an insert that was literally his anime waifuHe even fucking gave her the exact same name, him forcing us to mutilate female mutant corpses for the plot, and him having our money stolen with no saves or prevention and making prostitution our only option.
But the joke was on him when my character was accosted, the cyborg went and had gay robot sex for money. The GM was pissed, but the player rolled a critical success on seduction.

It is 155 years since the Battle of Hampton Roads, the most noted and arguably most important naval battle of the American Civil War from the standpoint of the development of navies. It was fought over two days, March 8–9, 1862, in Hampton Roads, a roadstead in Virginia where the Elizabeth and Nansemond Rivers meet the James River just before it enters Chesapeake Bay adjacent to the city of Norfolk. The battle was a part of the effort of the Confederacy to break the Union blockade, which had cut off Virginia's largest cities, Norfolk and Richmond, from international trade.
The major significance of the battle is that it was the first meeting in combat of ironclad warships, i.e. the USS Monitor and the CSS Virginia. The Confederate fleet consisted of the ironclad ram Virginia (built from the remnants of the USS Merrimack) and several supporting vessels. On the first day of battle, they were opposed by several conventional, wooden-hulled ships of the Union Navy. On that day, Virginia was able to destroy two ships of the Federal flotilla, USS Congress and USS Cumberland, and was about to attack a third, USS Minnesota, which had run aground. However, the action was halted by darkness and falling tide, so Virginia retired to take care of her few wounded and repair her minimal battle damage.
Determined to complete the destruction of the Minnesota, Virginia returned to the fray the next morning, March 9. During the night, however, the ironclad Monitor had arrived and had taken a position to defend Minnesota. When Virginia approached, Monitor intercepted her. The two ironclads fought for about three hours, with neither being able to inflict significant damage on the other. The duel ended indecisively, Virginia returning to her home at the Gosport Navy Yard for repairs and strengthening, and Monitor to her station defending Minnesota. The ships did not fight again, and the blockade remained in place.
Whatever happened to CATastrophe? Where can i find new updates?
>>52005009
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Setting:CATastrophe
This would be a good start
>>52005114
But it the game itself hasn't updated in a long time.
>>52005178
What should we do to fix that
Need wizard tower inspiration.
watching or reading material perfect.
None of the players are really arcane casters. There's a ranger, but he does the bow shit and he's new to D&D. Also general inspiration thread?
>>52144374
Care to explain?
>>52144476
My players are going into a Wizard Tower. The stupid dick at the door (because there has to be a stupid dick at the door. im playing tropes pretty hard here they're newbies) is going to stop them and demand they do some sort of test before going up to see the Archmage.
I'm planning on using it to setup the sort of wonky way I have my multiverse designed.
>>52144515
Ah, I thought you meant Wizard Tower construction.
I can't help you with riddles, I'm horrible at riddles.
I need your help, /tg/. For REASONS, reasons involving a modern fantasy game in which PC's choose three mythological creatures/figures to form a pact with and borrow powers and traits from, I require for my concept ONE ADDITIONAL being or beasty that I can associate with 4chan.
I have already decided upon:
>The Leprechaun or Chlurichan
Because of the clover
>Kekku, Egyptian god of Darkness and Chaos
For Obvious reasons
Help me create my neet wizard character, /tg/. I need your help.
>>52143523
Initially, I considered Pedobear. But both because fuck Pedo's and because I couldn't think of anything mythological that has to do with a pedophiliac bear, I dropped that idea.
Keep in mind this can be a creature from ANY mythology in the world, and it can be anything from a spirit, fairy, type of undead, or even a deity.
Any of the board tans, maybe? /v/'s rageguy is pretty long-established, or EFG if that was your era.
>>52143575
I'm trying to think of something that can represent 4chan rather than any specific board.
Besides, what would rageguy even be. Some sort of spirit of anger?
D&D 3.fag here, only ever played D&D 3.5, 4e and some obscure Elder Scrolls tabletop game, any suggestions for a quality system to get into? Crunch isn't an issue as long as it's not to an extreme, just looking for something new and well made. And nothing in the Warhammer 40k universe please.
>>52141661
Last Stand, Ryuutama, Tenra Bansho Zero, Apocalypse World, Dungeonslayers, Fantasy Craft, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Fiasco, Golden Sky Stories...
There's so much to recommend. You'll have to get a bit more specific.
>>52141661
Valor is a system I've been wanting to play for a while, is a flexible game designed for the anime genre but it can work with other genres.
>>52141661
5e maybe? I've heard it described as a happy medium between 3.5 and 4e, so it might be to your tastes.
Just what is exp?
Experience.
Excecution Points.
A reward.
Let's make our very own chaos space marine warband! For chaos!
First roll:
>Legion Warband or Renegade Chapter? (d10)
Rolled 4 (1d10)
Lets go Legion Successor!
>>52140077
Renegade Chapter
Sorry buddy
>Why did they fall? (d100)
Rolled 10 (1d100)
>>52140109
Aw.
Whats the best loadout for a Space Marine tactical squad?
Melta/Plasma/Flamer (debatable) and matching combi on the Sgt. Avoid the missle launcher.
>>52136360
5 man squad x1 grav gun
Free razorback
Twin linked assault cannon on the razorback
>>52136360
Or grav, if you're into that sort of thing. Plasma or Melta are usually a safe bet.
Mythic Britain or Pendragon?
Which is better and why?
>>52135324
AD&D.
>>52135344
>AD&D
Hah!
>>52135324
What?
I'd just go read up and make my own setting about low fantasy post-roman britain. It's not like there's any shortage of documentation, or sites to visit, or historians that'll talk excitedly about it for hours.
>mysterious armor-clad merchants have started appearing in every city and every kingdom
>they show up to peddle their wares wherever adventurers or sellswords gather
>the merchants offer a wide variety of armor, each suit fully covering, no stupid female armor stuff
>they mysteriously always have a suit perfectly tailored for one of the people present
>offer them up to him or her for a reasonable price
>the armor proves to not only be perfectly sized, but also extremely comfortable
>soon, adventurers everywhere appear in the armors
>not just fighters, paladins and other melee types, but rangers, rogues, wizards and clerics too
>even formerly slutty sorceresses now strut around in ornate gothic-styled plate
And? What does this have to do with traditional games?
>>52135287
Interesting, although I imagine it being a little strange.
No matter how comfortable their armour is, it's still heavy and such.
Also sauce on that pic?
>>52135429
its an adventure hook or a good plot idea you dense motherfucker. Ask your DM.
