Do your parties ever get pets? Do they ever add anything meaningful to the group?

Yes, that's how it works. Letting the thread fall into archives before making a new one is a bad habit.
>>52156592
Yes. Even without a full beastmaster or mage familiar, pets help keep yourself grounded.
guess what setting I'm shoving this time-worn archetype into?

How would you guys create a setting in which both Old Western cowboys coexist with Knights and high fantasy? more importantly, how would you mesh these two cultures into a seemingly believable world?
I wouldn't
>>52156379
>more importantly, how would you mesh these two cultures into a seemingly believable world?
this is much more feasible than having the two coexist. Just have a frontier area like the west but maybe colder, and have the settlers have a knightly tradition.
>>52156379
I make the cowboys and knights into sci fi versions with space magic.
Why does Forge World only make HH shit and Titans now?
>>52156365
Because that is what is selling. They made some cool xenos stuff back in the day, but that only sold marginally well. The new HH stuff is selling like hotcakes, so they put the brakes on everything else.
>>52156365
Why is the HH EC support cadre on email me for 3 months now?
>>52156365
It cannot be stressed enough, but where the axe frog to lack the high ground he'd be fucked and the spear frog would be triumphant - simply put, the sword frog would normally be able to undercut the axe frog's guard with its lightning fast speed and versatility as a weapon, while the spear frog would defeat the axe and sword frog both using his superior reach to dictate the terms of the battle.
But when you have the high ground, all that is moot, and only power matters, for any who challenge the axe frog will be cleaved in twain by his superior might as they struggle to reach him atop his loft perch.
Other annons having a problem with unbalanced gameplay for this gem ?
I played as the demon player last night and both me and the marines though that the game was really unblanced, i cound't even get a single frag of the 6 i needed to win. The worst part is that we quit halfway through our second round because we felt the it was too boring, the marines didn't feel challanged and it was just a cake walk.
Fyi we played the game exatly as written in the rules.
Do you guys know of any balancing stuff that can be made for a better time, more fun ?
>>52154544
*quit through the second game, not round.
>>52154544
More or less im looking for any custom "difficult settings" like the old game had.
I remember I bought it as a small kid, ignored the rules and made custom deathmatch games from it with my friends. Good times.

A group of 4 friends of mine and myself once invaded a living campaign by having each of us make a maid character application to get in.
Suddenly 5 maids were running around in the campaign doing the cleaning duties of the higher levels until they got annoyed it.

What are the gods like in your setting, Anon?
Are they chatty or quiet?
Do they spend time with their worshippers or are they aloof?
Are they nigh incomprehensible beings or humans?
One or many?
Tell me about your deities and other figures of worship!
I am looking to move and was wondering if any anons have insight on how popular nerd shit is by state in burgerland
>>52153539
>Northeast, Northwest USA
Optimal. Still seen as a niche hobby but pretty easy to find players if you actively look. Lots of closet nerds and "would try it if they had friends to teach them" types hidden in the normie crowd. Northwest is pretentious and backstabbing, Northeast is rude and aggressive. Pick your poison.
>Midwest
Never met anyone out of there who plays, but I can't imagine they don't exist. Not like there's much else of note out there so they must have some kind of domestic hobbies market.
>The South
I know a lot of players from this region but almost all of them speak ill of the reputation the hobby has. Rarely all the way into "burning D&D books at the church gathering" but closer to the whole "people who play /tg/ games are seen as antisocial crazy people" thing.
>Florida
This is the only state I've gotten confirmed reports of a "D&D is a tool used by Satanists to convert children to devil worship and suicide cults" parent from one of my players. That is all you need to know, aside from the fact that it is Florida.
>Southwest
We don't speak of that shithole.
>>52153629
>The South
Can only speak for Georgia, but I know lots of players from here (as I live here). I run Numenera modules every year at a local con and it's often well received, though most people in my area are AAA-Title vidya players, so when you bring up /tg/ stuff they go "like Skyrim with dice?" and it's easier to say "yeah kinda."
>Florida
All the best gaming stores I've been to were in Florida. FLGS and Borderlands in Jacksonville (even Jax's Games Workshop is full of pretty cool dudes) and The Game Academy in Tampa (go there about every three months for medical stuff, always stop in while I'm in town). Can't speak for the rest of Florida, but the only other cities that matter down there are Orlando and Miami, so...

I come from Jersey and it seems like I cannot get a consistent group.
so i played a load of sigmar but want to do 40k and just got my hands on these 3 and want to run a mechanicus/skitari heavy list. any tips ?
>>52153157
>so i played a load of sigmar
Then
>mechanicus/skitari
is not fore you
>>52153157
The lack of transports is going to hurt. I run mono Mechanicus, learn to love deep strike and go for objectives.
Elecropriests are not worth the points. Ever.
Mechanicus have some solid formations. They're going to be a life saver.
Hope this helps.
>>52153157
As entirely sincere advice, I'd say to wait a few months.
40k is currently going through some major upheaval and bigger changes are promised to come soon. As somebody who experienced the birth of AoS, I would urge caution.
There is every chance that the game will be turned on its head and any tactical advice that can be given now, rendered absolutely irrelevant in a few months.
Paint what you have and wait for the storm to pass.
When the fuck will I be able to torrent and print my own Blood Angels Army?
>>52152734
3D print, that is.
>>52152734
Probably within the next 11 years.
As soon as you cough up the $50'000 required for a commercial grade 3D printer that can actually make production quality miniatures with fine details and none of those ugly extrusion lines.

When was the last time you thanked your GM anons? Also GM stories, favorite campaign/settings. Lets collectively thank our GMs tg

>You understand everyone on /tg/ is their group's DM, right?
Not me. And my group's DM is trying to DM while knowing only the bare basics. You might say he takes the phrase "The DM is the final authority on rules" to another level, but that probably sends the wrong message.
The fact is, he doesn't know the rules, and it's up to me most of the time to explain the nitty gritty rules and processes. He just handles the storytelling and larger stuff - and I don't think he's even read enough of the module material to be adequately prepared for the shit we're throwing at him.
When was the last time a PC died in one of your games?
> party has boarded a slave trader's ship for passage to a nearby city
> rogue is a wererat they picked up a few weeks prior, don't know much about him
> rogue thinks it would be funny if a few of the slaves and the captain contracted lycanthropy without knowing
> starts indiscriminately biting slaves
> word of the big purple wounds on the cargo gets back to the rest of the party
> barbarian knows something is awry
> waits until the rogue goes out to try to bite the captain that night
> rogue thinks this is all a big joke, starts running for his life once he finds out the barbarian means business
> barbarian is enraged and eventually catches up to the rogue, strangles him, then throws his body overboard
> ship's captain finds out about the whole business and reimburses the barbarian for his passage
> barbarian is held in high regard by the rest of the crew for the rest of the journey

My last PC died in the epilogue I gave him after the game was over. The GM told us to give our PCs an ending so I decided that
>he keeps adventuring and travelling the earth, siring a couple of kids without ever settling down. Eventually he is killed in a 1 on 1 fight against a Balor.
>>52150456
This story was more entertaining when you included the line about "this guy would make a great rat".
