>must feed off the Materium to survive
>constantly trying to destroy the Materium
What did the Chaos gods mean by this?
>>52168437
They don't require the materium to survive. They are eternal and immortal in the Warp where there is end or beginning.
Checks and balances between the Gods' actions.
>>52168437
>tfw in the end Slaanesh will wane and the Horned Rat will become the 5th Chaos God
Would you play a game set in the hood?
>>52168298
Bit too mundane
>>52168298
>would you play a game where a bunch of white people pretend to be black
No.
No one from an actual hood would play tabletop games. It's too removed from the real world.
>>52168345
Fantasy-hood*
What system exists where I can craft the spell how I want it? I don't want to cast Fireball, I want to make an ability that I can flavor to be a Fireball if that makes sense. Is there a pointbuy spell creation system?
Ars Magica.
Alternatively any point buy effects based system will do you good.
>>52167981
Ars Magica, WoD Mage (both new and old versions).
>>52167999
>>52167990
Ars Magicka seems awfully clunky to play, is there a hacked version to another system I can try and digest?
Is Mage good at making your own spells?
One thread to rule them all,
One thread to find them,
One thread to bring them all, and in the darkness stat him instead.
Not
>Ash Nazg Durbatuluk, Ash Nazg Thrakatuluk, Agh Burzum-Ishi Krimpa-stat this motherfucker instead.
That said, he only needs one stat Invincible unless the One Ring is destroyed, if that happens instant death.
Why didn't you just post a discuss Tolkien thread instead?
>>52167931
Slow, lumbering.
Insta kill if you cut one of his hands.
There's a reason he needs an army of orcs to surround him.
>>52169226
That only happened because it was the hand the ring was on and it did not happen that way in the books as I recall.
/tg/, I've recently been experiencing a decent bit of trouble with my players doing completely stupid shit or averting problems that need solving in favor of dicking around, and then blaming it on me as GM when said stupid shit comes back to bite them in the ass. Advice/storytime thread is a go.
>>52166953
Have you had a conversation with them about expectations for the game and what everyone hopes to get out of it? It sounds like you want a serious game where decisions have consequences and they want a goofy game where they get to run around doing silly stuff.
>>52166953
Sounds like your plot is shitty and the players would rather not have anything to do with it and are attempting to pursue other things they find fun and interesting, and now you're butthurt and fucking them over at every chance you get because they're ignoring your shitty plot hooks.
>>52167035
Stop posting this. It's an example of extremely bad GMing (and to a lesser extent, an example of shitty players too). Also, it never happened.
>>52167209
What this guy said.
What is your favorite class, and what is your favorite book about them?
>>52166663
Martial. I enjoy the idea of an individuals willpower and physicality winning against all odds.
The knight slaying the dragon doesn't make a lot of sense, really, but its a common myth regardless and an appealing one.
Man triumphing over forces primeval via gumption and or moxie. I love it.
>>52167142
Maybe one hated the other, but this surely resonates with both.
>>52166663
It's hard to pick a favorite, but one of the best book about wizards I've read is Imajica. It's about a guy in modern day Manhattan who travels across various dimensions to learn who he is. It's beautifully detailed and very, very weird. There's also some fucking insane sex scenes in this book, like when he sleeps with someone who rapidly switches between male and female, or when they consume and flow into each other like an Ouroboros.

Haven't seen SP in awhile. But then I haven't been looking for it.
The world is a finite flat plane floating on top of the endless and bottomless ocean of the void.
>>52166284
The world is pretty thick and solid but if you mine too deep you might find bits of void, or some of the creatures that come from it.

The once bright sun is beginning to grow dim, and the sages claim the stars are beginning to fade.
Most of the world is frigid mountain ranges, frozen taiga, and cold tundra. Warm, and arable land is extremely rare and highly sought after.

Thinking about DMing this game.
Is it worth it? Kinda sick of the whole medieval fantasy crap. Though I've never actually DM'd before.
>>52165804
Setting's nice. Rules are a MESS.
>>52165820
>rules are a mess
What do you mean by that exactly?
>>52165820
That are all over the place, but at the end of the day, it's not that crunchy at all. I've enjoyed it, and the cypher system is good fun.
What are your favorite attributes?
I almost invariably see Str, Dex, Con, Int, etc and while that seems to fit a fantasy game, it just tends to feel a bit weird in modern settings. What attributes would be better for a spy game, or an action movie ruleset? basically what are some alternate attribute ideas you like.
>>52165558
Sneak
Disguise
Ingenuity
Speed
Accuracy
>>52167643
Those are interesting choices-- how would you mechanically define Ingenuity?
>>52167668
Basically, it'd be your ability to think up cool spy shit. Like, how to disarm the trap that you just set off before it sets the alarm/kills you, or something like that. Or, how best to hide a body, maybe? It's basically a mix of Perception and Intelligence, I guess.

First for old classic
Why can't I play orks in 30k? They existed back then.
In the campaign I'm in, we have just liberated an elven princess/priestess from a lich's lair.
Now, here's the thing: we kinda might have played a hand in making the city-state she was kidnapped from not a thing anymore, we had forgotten that saving her was even a thing on our plates, and the people who enlisted us to get her are now most certainly dead. Now we don't know what to do about her. As the trusty Cleric, it has been decided that dealing with the issue is going to be my problem.
Whatever I do, I don't want it to be a huge thing, we already spent a session pulling her out of the hole she was in, but I also have to generally be a good guy about the issue. Suggestions?

First for Beastmen.
Best Scions of Chaos.
Free Guild Gunline, or Flesh-Eater Generica?
I would have no problem tossing out the money for a fluffy and fun mass of handgunners and outriders and war machines that'd be 95% Perry Revolutionary War Brits, though I'm still mulling over the Steam Tank conversion that I'd be doing. Likewise, I really do enjoy the rules of FEC and the fluff is kinda neat, but fuck if it isn't an incredibly boring line of miniatures. Not particularly bad sculpts, just ultimately only a handful of different models.
