Please, does someone have a PDF of the There And Back Again supplement book for the hobbit SBG?
>>55170419
No one cares about the hobbit because it's a bad game.
>>55170751
It's one of the best skirmish games out there, with a great written ruleset. It's detailed, but not complicated. It's also well balanced, even though it suffered some power creep after The Hobbit movies, which they have tried to balance out.
And the best part its it's a game that's easy to learn but hard to master.
Just my two cents though.
Seconding a desire to read this.

Okay now that I've genderswapped Draco Malfoy using that perk from Unholy Heights...
...how do I make her and Harry Potter fall in love?

Jumpers! When's a time that you tried to set up two companions and it went horribly wrong? Or even worse, horribly, disgustingly right?
Did softanon answer the questions anons had?
>Find DnD podcast that I can listen to in the car

"Yeah he's wearing pink boots and he has a mohawk"

Anybody else hate this shit?

Nobody takes tabletops seriously. Get used to it.

Wait, do people actually download podcasts without listening to some of it first?
That seems stupid to me.

I had fun once, it was aweful.
So I remember a thread back that speculates how it'd be like if the Imperium of Man discovered Earth, as in OUR Earth. And surprisingly there were many people including alot of 40K nerds who admit that the Imperium would utterly fail to conquer or even destroy our Earth.
All because we the people of this Earth have much better technology, better sciences, better logical reasoning, positive emotions, postive attitutdes, and the very though of Hope, hope for a brighter and better day and future. And also comapred to the people of the Imperium in 40K, we the people of Earth are not grimdark/grimderp 90's-era stupid, and again unlike alot of people in 40K who're always pessimistically stupid. We have the power of postive thinking, optimism and hope.
And I guess I'd dare say that our very idea and concept of hope and positive and logical thinking and commons sense in general, would prevent us from falling into the dumb influences of Chaos/ Therefore we would not degrade into some dark and edgy work of fiction that practically came from the 90's. (Or mid to late 80's)
So shall we have a thread for how we the people of this Earth are much better and frankly superior to the 40K Imperium? And basically post and talk about how alot of 1st world and western military powers would pretty much beat space marines in the battlefield.
And also how our logical and postive thinking and hope trumps whatever chaos influence urges us to do dumb things.

Thats fucking retarded and you should feel bad about being this retarded
The imperium can throw more bodies than the entirety of earths current population without so much as breaking a sweat or complaining about the inhumanity of it.
To quote Stalin "quantity is a quality all of its own"

Favorite house rules?
Mine: I enjoy hidden perception roles. I try to prep this beforehand so that players don't know exactly if their player correctly percieves the environment.
I also like critical hits to be mad damage+a roll if the damage dice, rather than rolling damage dice twice (5e).
Anyone have experience streamlining initiative by rolling it once at session start *or* using group initiative?
Everytime someone would get up from death saves via healing I give them exaustion, also everytime you shapeshift you get an exaustion. Fifth Edition should use exaustion more, it makes the players more careful and the game more beleivable and enjoyable. I also use the rule where you roll HD on the long rest as well and regain 1 HD per long rest. Also your conditions never wear off on long rest, because fuck man how will you ever get lycantropy.
>>55170403
I like this. Exhaustion is a sonofabitch and I use it frequently. However because it's so impressive, I introduced a level of exhaustion before the first where they have disadvantage on dex and wis related rolls.
Thanks for the post anon!
>>55170532
If you want to be a real son of a bitch make life draining effects give exaustion as well, but make an deacent not too hard DC for them.
I am a shareholder in GW. After a bonanza year where share values have nearly quadrupled, I've decided to spend some of my dividend-loot on travelling to Nottingham and attending the AGM. I have the right to ask the company's board a question, what should it be?

Don't think there's much chance of them telling us anything about future projects that isn't already in the public domain. Maybe they'll have some of the design team knocking around after the main presentation, there might be an opportunity then.
With sleeved cards how would you feel about someone using cards like this. Be it painted cards, printed artwork over the original picture or even full printed cards. In friendly / pick up games.
>im not talking about full-on this card doesn't exist
With sleeves on 'cheating' is brought to a minimal and if they wanted to cheat a false shuffle or deck switch is much easier.
I don't care if they use a piece of paper with the card rules written on it as long as they all feel the same through the sleeve.
As long as I can read the text and there's no way to cheat it I don't really care, alternate art is cool.

would you want to have a link to official card too?

How would you fix the Pauper format?
Unironically add uncommons

Probably >>55169479 Maybe not all of them, but there's probably a great deal that would fit in just fine, especially when it comes to newer sets.

Thinking about getting back into magic cuz its an efficient way to make friends, and I moved to a new place, but last I played was with Vehicle Hell standard format #fuckthatnoise and before that I was a hardcore player. Playing modern and standard during the era of Siege Rhino thought about going into modern again and maybe giving this new standard a shot. is the game worth going back to or have i been scorned too many times?
>>55168918
Don't do it.
Sure. Ixilan looks like it'll be good. And outside of a few cards it's the cheapest I remember it being.

If you have still your old cards why not?
You still have your cards. Don't you anon?
Hey /tg/ been playing and DMing table top games for years. My group usually just picks up a setting along with the mechanics. I've been feeling ambitious about my next game and am contemplating using a general system or otherwise adapt another system a and try to craft a homebrew setting.
My group's never used a fully homebrew setting, and I think it would be fun to see how it would expand and grow if they like it and help add to the world building.
That said I'm not really sure where to go about it. I've got the basic ideas of what I want in terms of genre and tone, but not sure how much detail I should get into world building. I'm not doing this out of some OCD need to create and detail a whole world or to create some setting i've been creating prior.
If it helps spark discussion I'll detail what I'm trying to do, but feel free to just talk about the anecdotes you've had or world/setting building information in general.
I'm looking to do a mecha anime inspired setting. Think soft-specific mecha (I mean they're giant robots after all) but treated with some seriousness. IE more of them portrayed as mobile weapons platforms built for specific role and less giant robot kungfu.
I'd love to incorporate in some atmosphere from things like AD Police, Dominion Tank Police, and Akira. At least one major location I'd like to have as a sprawling city full of crime and neon. Maybe not full blown cyberpunk as I'm more interested in the mecha than human augmentation (We get that from Shadowrun games we've played), however I do like the idea of a big sprawling kind of fucked up city as a hub.
Finally thinking some space shenanigans might be interesting so shamelessly ripping off from Gundam maybe some space colonies at war with earth or each other. Give the party a route to go off and do their own thing in space from time to time.
TLDR; I wanna make a mecha setting and would like advice. But you can talk about what ever homebrew anecdotes you want.
Pity bump
>>55168764
Sounds like you've got some good things going there anon
flesh out the factions, main NPCs, etc.
If you're stuck watch/read a load of mecha stuff for inspiration.
Have a google around worldbuilding advice, there are plenty of good articles on it.
good luck anon
>>55169285
Thanks.
I'll post what I got once I start writing things down if any one is interested.
Are tabletop games only fun because you're playing with friends?
>>55168723
Mostly, for meeting the social aspect of table top play. Have been using Roll20 and other VTT options, and until you have people you click with, and play together a few times, it is fucking awful pick up groups with legions of 'that guy' making you wonder why you'd rather just not go eat a bullet than keep subjecting yourself to this bullshit.
They're fun because:
1. You're playing with friends.
2. A good GM and a good group beat a good script in terms of adaptibility and story progression, by miles.
3. Just because the systems of computer simulations are able to do the shit in the BG doesn't necessarily mean that the system is good. On the contrary they're often terrible and their saving grace is not bothering the player too much with it.
>>55168723
A great many of them, yes. Sometimes though there is a game good enough to be worth it in and of itself.Maybe one day I'll find one like that again ;_;
