No, they just tweaked 3.5's massive damage rule. Any damage you take from a single hit that's over your CON score forces a save. It's a piss easy DC 15 FORT save, but still, it's there.

Fuck lighter than air gas, what you need is a material lighter than aluminium and stronger than titanium which is the kind of shit that always turns up in fantasy. Big spherical tanks, pump out all the air until they're vacuums. Those are your float tanks.

The party managed to escape and then kill all the orcs. But the whole party is pissed IC (ooc there is an air of dissapointment). They were supposed to kill the leader for a magic shield the Cleric wanted. I made the Cleric's alignment switch to Lawful evil considering this and past evil actions. Was I right in making that call /tg/? I'm also thinking of switching him from Life Domain to Death (or let him pick another domain). Good/bad idea?

I hear carrying capacity complained about a fair amount here. How would you prefer to see it done, so that it doesn't involve tons of annoying math, but also provides reasonable carrying limits for characters of varying strengths?
Bonus Round: Are there any other simple mechanics you'd like to see different solutions to? How ammo is handled? Armor? Lighting?

When I DM I just give the party a bag of holding relatively early on.
I'm strict as fuck about ammo, though. I expect my players to keep track of each and every arrow, bolt, bullet, and power pack they have.

I use the "If it seems reasonable that your character could carry it, it can. But if it starts getting ridiculous, you've got some explainin' to do." rule of thumb.
A Fighting-man carrying 50 lbs of supplies in a backpack and various pouches while wearing heavy armor, a shield, and a weapon? Cool.
A magic-user doing the same? Nope.
Trying to carry a chest full of supplies? Better have a buddy with ya or you're going to be moving quite a bit slower than usual.

You halve incoming nonmagical damage and you deal extra for no additional cost. You're not supposed to be able to cast spells while you're doing it, that doesn't fit with the flavour and it defeats the point of raging. You can always not rage or cancel it, but its purpose it to turn the Barbarian into your front line tank and damage dealer all at once.
Don't know about heavy armour. Guess you don't need it.

My most recent DM had our innkeeper (after we all meet at the inn) wish us luck and "follow us on, uh, the Twitter" and sight gagged with a blue plush bird he pulled out behind his back.
Shockingly enough he was able to ad hoc a rationale for both the existence and the 140-character limit in about a half hour's time. And we just decided to roll with it.
