Hey /tg/, Ive been thinking about using more atmospheric music in my games. Figured Id make a thread where people can fish for suggestions and post stuff they've used in the past. Right now Im having real trouble finding a city-theme for these dudes in my setting who are basically Byzantines if they never admitted defeat and continued to demand taxes from their former subjects in a massive mountain fort.
Ive actually found a lot of good stuff I plan on using, but until I at least have themes for all the major cities Im not going to start using it.
Anybody here working on a soundtrack for their own game?
I am using for medieval setting this soundtrack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugLwYV1GSvo&t=163s

Huh. Just always on?
Not always when party is in the city i try to mix up them, but others are not as good as this
I've got some old highschool buddies who want to get back together for me to run a post-apocalytpic GURPS game. I know the genre is a bit tired, but we always talked and wanted to do one without ever getting around to it.
What I wanted opinions on was the concept of a kitchen-sink type apocolypse, where there are several endtimes-tier events that caused or came after the end, but all sort of keep eachother at bay without wiping out humanity.
For example: The terminator-style robots are powerful, but woefully undercapable outside of the urban areas, where they are concentrated with the zombies they have to hold back (the sheer number/force of nature the hordes present and their greasy gibs getting in the elaborate machinery of the robots proves difficult, let alone the amount of ammunition it would take to clear an entire city.)
The zombies exist in the urban and suburban areas, but can't brush against very harsh conditions, being they are rotting and in more overgrown parts attract bears and other predators that make short work of them straggling along.
I can't think of anything else right now besides cannibals and slavers, but I'd love to hear any ideas that could be added. Maybe the inclusion of biblical-type stuff would be neat.

GURPS After the End literally lists most common causes of apocalypse, and what there would be left to deal with in the wastelands.
>>55191472
Angels and Deamons battle by night for the souls of humanity, forceing people to retreat into fortified locations near sunset or find some kind of shelter when they can.
Monsterous animals prowl the wilds, helped by agressive, fast growing plants that erode infastructure and erase humanity's footprint, with some versions of Kazdu vine spreading though the southwith flowers that release toxic spores.
>>55192037
After The End is a great resource for this kind of thing.
Why would you ever use GURPS? Why not a system that was built from the ground up for a post-apocalyptic setting?
A concept I'm trying to develop for a setting is the idea that Vajra is the name of the soul stuff given physical form. Far from it being a sort of "lightsaber", it's something that can be used in the crafting of permanent physical objects (i.e. a craftsman pouring his own vajra or that of another person into an object).
So I'm wondering what, if any, western ideas exist that have something similar to it? The idea is that basis is still the same but a western style civilization and an eastern style one call it different things
Ectoplasm
>>55191388
A nice start, although I'm thinking more classics here. That said I'm trying to recall some ancient greek shit where something exists in a perfect form and the form we see is just a projection of it? Am I even remembering that right?

Platonic Ideals?
What strange, cool or interesting concepts have you thought or come up with around the 40K setting that seems to fit the world extremely well, but haven't ever appear?
Pic here is one of mine. With all the advanced tech the Tau have, why haven't we seen cases of cyborg rebuilding, similar to Robocop or The 6 Million Dollar Man? A young Fire Warrior gets butchered by Imperium troops (or better yet, by Orks) and gets rebuild to serve the Greater Good once again. You'd think the fanatical Tau would use more cybernetic enhancing for their frail soldiers. Specially considering they have the tech and the resources to mass produce them, even if they have to use slave races.
>>55191206
Imperial Battleships with a giant chainsaw prow instead of a spike ram.
>>55191206
Ghetto power swords where the blades are super heated.
You'd think something like that would be right up the alley of the Soroitas having swords and spears with blades that literally catch fire.
>>55191206
>With all the advanced tech the Tau have, why haven't we seen cases of cyborg rebuilding, similar to Robocop or The 6 Million Dollar Man?
They have though. Bravestorm got stuck in his battlesuit.
What system would you run for a Fate RPG?
>>55191171
Was thinking GURPs for expanded Apostle and demon hunting. This one seemed pretty interesting, but I didn't look into it toodeeply.

>>55191171
Put a lot of thought into this.
The answer is I wouldn't.
RPGs are primarily collaborative, while the Grail Wars are always competitive.
>>55191171
FATE, of course.
Do you craft stuff for your rpg sessions? Post some of your own stuff!
I'm currently trying to make see through range/area/cone rulers. Can't decide if I should redo it and put the distance markers at the actual lines.
>>55190628
right now the area bands parse as
"within x meters" rather than the black lines meaning "at x meters"
>>55190628
Well, print 25mm plastic tiles and then use them to construct dungeons.
Are there any good RPGs for emulating car racing or racing vidya? I'd prefer something rules-light, but I'll try anything.
Well there's car lesbians if you want a wacky one shot with rules light.
Shadowrun added some advanced driving rules and GURPS has announced its vehicles supplement so when that comes out it would be usable, but not rules light in either case.
I once had a burning urge to host a racing campaign and i never really found a system that seemed to handle it well, or in many cases address it at all. Most car rules are designed around car chases, not racing.

Not quite RPG, not quite a board game, but this is pretty cool.
I don't know if Its very good but anons have made an F-zero rpg.

What's /tg/ stance on the concept of the Eternal Champion and everything it entails?
>>55189945
why are we having this thread again?
>>55189945
Moderately good pulpy books. Sort of applicable to tabletop games, but only really works with super "epic" scale games. If you want to make things about say, a set of regional heroes, you're probably not going to see a need for that kind of figure.
>>55189971
Because the Champion is eternal, so must be his threads.
What's the estimated value of a collection like this? All are holographic images, titles, or both, 112 cards in total
Probably about $20.
>>55189984
Wrong because Super Rare Raigeki alone is $20+.
>>55189910
put the name of the cards and check the prices for yourself

Well, we've already seen they have some sort of harpoon gun thing, depicted here.

That Indian guy, I remember that. That was fucking hilarious how spineless the wizard staff was. I bet 5 bucks its the same guy again this year.
I just got my hands on the english version of this crazy rpg system.
Anybody here ever played it?
I just started reading it but i just can't imagin to play it... but i would actualy love to do so... sooo what are your experiences?
>>55188423
I've played it, it got weird, it got strangely competitive, at times it got frustrating but after-the-fact it was a great laugh.
My group has actually recently been discussing playing it again.
>>55188423
I've played it once before, it was pretty fun. The system is very simple and the tables lead to some interesting characters, if you have a group who can stomach the maids and such you can have a really fun game, especially if the GM really gets into the spirit. Since the system is so simple play goes by really fast as well.
