On a short term, you can survive off some small things.
Long term, you're going to ruin your body, especially a party of adventurers. You need meat, calcium, ect.

Does it make sense to let the party take more than one Long Rest in 24 hours? Because it would be realistic?

The situation is they slept in and Long Rested until 2 PM. They fought a tournament match, and went home. After they went home that evening, they got into some more fights. Now it's like 9 PM, and they have another tournament match that morning around 8 AM. If they go to sleep at midnight or before, it hasn't been 24 hours since the 2 PM they finished their last Long Rest.

So because they can't get Long Rest benefits until 24 hours have passed, they'd go into the next tournament match with all their resources spent. A challenge like that was kind of my intent, but on the other hand, it seems strange that if you're tired and need to sleep, somehow that rest doesn't fix you up just because you didn't force yourself to stay up another several hours.

>realistic
Ugh.
>>
>>55198464
It's either that or have a really absurd situation where they sit around doing nothing for literally 12 hours but somehow that doesn't mean anything to get rested.
>>
>>55198404
Take it on a case by case basis. In the tournament setting, they're probably not going to be running into any trouble outside of a controlled environment, and, if they're competing, there'd likely be resources to keep the combatants in top shape between matches.

In a dungeon, there could be monsters at every turn, they're likely hungry, meaning they need to set up a fire and such. I highly doubt they'd be able to find to completely rest, between looking for traps, keeping watch, translating the ancient runes on the wall, maintaining their equipment, etc.

Again, it depends.

So I've got a high level Wizard in a contemporary pathfinder campaign. The GM's created these celestial beings that surpass and in some cases were the inperation for human gods. As such we deal with a lot of Celestial and spiritual themes and shit frequently in our sessions.
Here's how this ties into my question; my character's got a lot of emotional trauma and trust issues that conflict with his playboy, hopeless romantic nature.
So he decided that, rather than risk approaching a real woman, he would make a wife himself.
I've taken care of everythibg mechanically; Craft Wonderous Item, Craft Construct, yada yada.
So my issue isn't creating the form, but rather filling it.
My GM is really uneasy about the whole thing, which is half the reason I'm doing it because I find it hilarious, and has warned me about trying to trap an Outsider or something inside the body because my guy is chaotic good and there's a lot of moral issues with this whole thing regardless of that.
So I started wondering; what if I just made a soul from scratch? What would I need to do to be able to do that? What components, rituals, etc. would be required to make it happen?

What do you guys think?
How do you handle souls in your setting and how would you handle the concept of making them?

Ya gotta steal one (or at least redirect it). The easiest way would be to remove the soul from an infant at the moment of it's birth, and shunt it into your preferred vessel. Some people might say this is basically pedophilia. They might be right. Your wife will have the psyche and soul of a child. This would likely still be true if you created one from scratch however. Either way you would be creating a child fuckslave in the body of a grown woman. You monster.

I just want an opinion: Which is the more interesting game idea?

1. Mages fighting gangland style street wars for control of urban territories.

2. Spider people fighting against their increasingly massive insectoid gods.

3. Lord of the flies style survival game where children are stranded in the wilderness and hunted by supernatural foes.

I mean, if you really expect your players to want to listen to the villain talk, that's pretty naive. And to then punish them for not listening is vindictive. It would make sense to punish them a little, to make the point, but to end the whole game over it isn't really teaching them anything, it's more of a petty response.

I've also wiped parties for making stupid mistakes or forgetting important things, but it was things they knew about, mistakes they understood they were making. If they have no way of knowing that what they are doing is the wrong thing, and really, you can't claim that killing the bad guy appears to be the wrong thing unless you have established that it is, and you then punish them, it serves no purpose. It doesn't further the story, it doesn't make the experience more fun for anyone, and it doesn't teach them to be better players. It is purely an ego trip on your part, where you are punishing them for not doing what you wanted, which is questionable to begin with, but when you never even told them you wanted it, then you're just doing your job poorly.
>>
>>55197971
They've got no-one to blame but themselves.

You'll get a lot of "hurr durr u should give ur players everything on a plate so they don't cry when they lose" in response to your post, OP, but ignore them. The culture of treating Little Timmy like he's a spoiled child monarch is a cancer that needs to be cut out of /tg/.

I'e only ever played in 2 campaigns, first was cut midway by the dm because he hated his first setting, so he made the second setting.

The first one was a really cool high magic setting, with a mages college that acted as a sort of police state aiming to prevent a second magical catastrophy, it didn't go far or was explored much though, he focused too much on character arcs.

The second setting was this really low magic with a broken empire and a theocracy and not only was it boring, something happened to his encounter building, it went from alright to abyssmal.

Hey I've been making a Kabal and a bunch of lore about it, and was about to get started when I realized I didn't have a name.

The main themes of my Kabal are as follows.
>Tight knit Kabal.
>Lots of old school Horror themes and guys (Have several characters based of old school horror movie bad guys.).
>A very specific Haemonculus based on old mad German doctor trope.

If you want more info I will provide if asked but those are the main themes i'm trying to get across with my name if possible. Thanks in advance have a really hard time with coming up with names so this helps a lot.

Is there a good world guide / campaign setting type book for the world of Arslan Senki?

Something that details the countries and people's and religions?

I can't help but feel (as I watch the most recent anime) that it would make an excellent bronze age campaign setting which I'd probably run with gurps + martial arts + low tech.

Anybody have a good setting resource?

Oh wow, someone else who watched some of this.

It was originally a manga, which unfortunately I can't find.

But Arslan Senki is loosely based on a real Persian legend of the king of Arslan, with the bad guys being a weird 'Christianized' version of what were actually fucking Muslims. So if you wanted a resource your best bet would be to look into pre-islamic Persian history.

Which is really depressing when you get into it

But anyway, aside from the ANIMEisms like Arslan being a fuccboi and the titty priestess, the show does do a good job of addressing some of the material - the Persian Empire was ancient and powerful, but a long line of muddle successionary fuckery, warlords, and the ascendancy of the Muslims was threatening it. Slavery was a social issue, though their slavery wasn't the same kind of Slavery we had despite the shows projection, and everyone was in it for themselves.

"Whilst the protagonist's name appears to may have been taken from the popular Persian epic of Amir Arsalan, other than this anachronism, Arslan and his Parsian enemies and allies primarily share many parallels with Cyrus the Great and other historical figures of 6th century BCE Persia (albeit with several liberties taken), whereas the conflicts with the Lusitanian forces (which bear the Byzantine Orthodox cross) – despite mostly French names and a certain religious zealotry implying a connection to the (Catholic) Crusades (again, with liberties taken)– appear to be based on the Byzantine–Persian Wars, specifically those of the 6th century CE. Furthermore, several names of prominent Parsian characters appear to be taken from known important figures throughout Persian history as well as the historically unsubstantiated legendary parts of the historiographic Persian epic Shahnameh. Additionally, supernatural elements mostly based on ancient Near East mythology increasingly play a role as the series goes on."

hopefully this is a good start. I would recommend looking up Zoroastrianism too, since that would've been the state religion of Persia.
