I came up with an idea to sponsor my local game store with free membership badges when people sign up and pay guild dues.
I was thinking campaign badges that you sow onto a vest with rewards for clever play, good humor and good sportsmanship.
Anybody know where I can find badges, preferably with some sort of animal on the front like wolf, tiger or bear?
>>52655111
Like the whole point would be that you can't just buy one, you have to earn one by paying dues. BTW I can't use pic related cause its used by the boy scouts already.
Are you in the 412 anon?
You sound just like a guy I know from my local shop
>>52655125
Being used by boy scouts never set a precedent for not being used by anybody else. I would say it even encourages that.
Is there a limit to how many magic rings I can wear? I believe that I should be free to put at least one ring into each ring.
>>52653505
*each finger.
>>52653505
dms discretion. i would allow players to wear 8-10 rings. thumb rings are kind of dumb and most rings aren't really made to fit over a chunky thumb.
in general ring size is never brought up though. all equipment is one-size-fits-all. maybe the next time i dm i'll be more specific about sizes.
>>52653505
Considering 5e only allows 3 attuned items at a time I'd limit you to 3 unless you decide to chain their magic together and reforge them into a single item or artifact.
Murderhobo here.
If I kill people in the middle of a forest, no way they can figure out it was me right? Not like there is a cellphone, camera or dna testing to figure it out.
Depends on the setting. Specifically the climate, the regional citizenry, and the wildlife.
>>52652441
Depends on the setting.
A cleric could cast speak with dead or otherwise devine it, if the person was important enough. Never rule out "honest country boy who walked in the woods and saw something he shouldn't have" either. That's hero fuel.

Is rolling for stats bullshit?
Seeing how stats are one of the most important things in a RPG, I don't think it's right for a player to be favored or unfavored through an entire campaign just for being unlucky.
A far better system is arbitrary values (ex pick one 17, two 15, three 12, etc) or point buy (get X points, increasing a stat cost 1 point, from 12 2 points, from 14 3 points, etc).
Thoughts?
>>52647086
>Is rolling for stats bullshit?
Yes. Yes it is. Any DM that argues for the ''fun'' factor'' is a dumb fucktard.
Yeah I'm my campaigns I use modified point buy where you scrap the score and everything uses the modify er
So they start at 0 can and the total cannot exceed 4 allowing them to dip into other skills as dump stats
Even if stats WEREN'T very important, picking a few numbers is the easiest part of character creation.
You know what's hard? Personality traits. There ought to be a random chart for those in every game.
>Altruistic-Egoistic
>Rational-Emotional
>Lawful-Chaotic.
What alignment system for general roleplaying help do you use, if any at all?
I prefer playing actual characters instead of cardboard cutouts.
>>52645300
>Lawful neutral
>Snooze zone
Jaded head-hunters who follow the word of the law, dispatching anyone for their lord, enemy or friend... Yeah, total goody-two-shoes.
>>52645300
mine worked pretty great since the new alignment axises in the OP are not encumbered with classical RPG tropes, and i am more on the side of "use it to remember who your character is, even after one month of session brake" anyway.
Just want to end every last one of them and hope their next characters are not such air head furries. The cat and lizard girl won't stop trying to fuck! The kitsune plays along with them, but at least keeps the plot going.
Kill yourself.
Seeing as you were enough of a retarded spineless faggot to let your players create furry PCs, you deserve every bit of the hell they're putting you through.
You earned this through your idiotic actions, now learn to live with it.

What's the most "Bully" move you've ever pulled and do you feel bad about it?
>>52640618
This a particularly round about way of just casting Armageddon.
We minotaur tribal now
>>52640655
Except it positions you slightly better to recover, and if you pull it with Leovold...
But yeah, basically, except in a color that doesn't normally get it.
Which is the biggest red flag, /tg/?
>The GM's game setting is bog-standard medieval high-fantasy set in a faux Europe with woodland elves, orc hordes, wizard towers, and dwarf mines. Effectively indistinguishable from Dragonlance or Forgotten Realms, save a bunch of new proper nouns to learn and some new geography to put on the map.
>The GM has set out to avoid "generic fantasy" as hard as possible, resulting in every imaginable convention being arbitrarily turned on its head. The setting has elves and dwarves, but THESE Elves all pilot magitek mechs, and THESE dwarves all live in floating airships. Setting may or may not have another genre layered on top of high fantasy, like "Post Apocalyptic" or "Gaslamp Fantasy," even though the party will still spend half their time going dungeon delving at the end of the day.
>The GM's setting is "self-aware." He's set out to deconstruct all the "tropes" he can, often with some comment about "what if the implications of X in a fantasy setting were taken to their logical conclusion." Civilized races are all definitely assholes, but the monsters are probably misunderstood and he'll make you feel bad if you kill them.
>The GM's game is set in a "dark fantasy" world. The peasants are all dying of plague, the nobility is all greedy and inbred, the elves are bloodthirsty cannibals, and the magic is not-so secretly powered by "spoopy" Lovecraftian cthulhu monsters. Gods are either distant or dead. Your paladins will definitely be dead too in a few sessions.
>The GM's setting is 'WACKY!' He probably calls it "gonzo fantasy." The gnomes ride two-headed cats and the wizards all grow mushrooms in their beards that give them magic and someone will probably make a Monty Python joke every session, because it's SUPPOSED to be silly, man!
>>52639570
The dark fantasy world is an awesome flag. That's a game I want to fucking play.
Warhammer the RPG, you dingus.
Gonzo fantasy is probably the worst tbhfamalamsenzubean.
>>52639570
>>The GM's game setting is unoriginal.
Red Flags: 0
Absolutely fine by me, but I could see others who've played dozens of games in Fantasyland being tired of that flavor.
I'd need something else present to even consider this a red flag, like "Level 1 humans only; No magic users." or something.
>>The GM's game setting is arbitrarily "original" by opposing convention.
Red Flags: 3/4
Most likely to be heavy-handed and poorly done.
Opposite of tropes is still letting tropes define your game.
I would not play unless another factor compelled me to.
>>The GM's game setting is arbitrarily "original" by extending convention to extremes.
Red Flags: 1/4
Still overthinking the setting, and morally grey everything can be tiresome, but at least they're trying to think things through.
I would play and give it a chance.
>>The GM's game setting is arbitrarily "original" by being grimdark.
Red Flags: 2/4
I can get behind a game of grim darkness sliding into failure and degeneracy. It could easily fall into "Isn't this SO dark, guyz!" territory, so it is a bit more of a red flag.
>>The GM's game setting is arbitrarily "original" by being lolrandumb wacky!
Red Flags: 4/4
I might be able to enjoy "off the wall goofiness" for one session, if I were in the mood. Maybe. But probably not.
I don't set aside time to game in order to pretend lame jokes are funny.
>>52639570
Standard = Dark > Tropesville > "original" > Gonzo
I generally refuse to play "original" fantasy and gonzo, they're just annoying
