What ship is your party currently using?
A fresh screenshot in commemoration of this thread's namesake.
Does /swg/ read any EU novels?
I was considering running a D6 campaign, that was based around buying impounded starships at auctions, then selling all their contents and parts for profit.
Literally Storage Wars
I love the game, but i hate painting.
The painted figures i have suck and i was fine with having them either the clean or just a black primer. At least they didn't look shit then.
But then nobody want's to play against me because i don't have a painted army or in the progress of painting them.

>But then nobody want's to play against me because i don't have a painted army or in the progress of painting them.
Solution: give them a very basic paint job. A lot of tutorial for ez pz paint theme that you can quickly do.
Or you can just keep not painting your minis and cry that you have no friends on 4chin.

Cereally.
OP, even if you are terrible at painting, and don't enjoy it, you can still have presentable miniatures which take a very short time to paint. You will appreciate your figures much more, and might even learn to enjoy painting. Nobody really enjoys something they're bad at, and nobody is good at painting when they begin.
Just paint the basecoat colors, then apply a wash/shade. That's it. It won't look great, but still presentable, and much better than bare plastic or metal. If you want to go further, apply a single layer of highlights or drybrush over the shade.
Method A:
Paint everything the colors you want them to be, then shade them with a relevant shade coat. Citadel shades work well for this. You can then optionally paint another coat of the original base color over raised areas and edges.
Method B (even quicker):
Paint everything the colors you want them to be, only using slightly lighter colors than you want them to be in the final product. Then, apply a single coat of Army Painter Quickshade (I'd recommend the soft or medium) over the whole figure. Done!

Then the people you play with don't care about fun. Next time you see them ask why.
So now that we know about the Amonkhet gods (or at least most of them) how do you feel about them compared to their Theros counterparts?
It sounds weird but to me they don't really feel like gods. They just feel like really pushed creatures with some drawbacks plastered on. I think part of it is that they don't have the word "god" in their name. They feel sort of... insignificant? I don't necessarily mean their powerlevel, just what they feel like to me. I can't really describe it, but the Theros gods came across as more than just creatures. The Amonkhet gods are so quaint in comparison. Maybe if they were more like the Myojins I would have liked them better. Perhaps not constructed playable, but high cmc super flashy powerful creatures.
What do you guys think? Also post if you like them. This is not supposed to be a "let's shit on Amonkhet" thread.
They feel like the Theros gods each gave up the bit of power they have in their pinky and created the Amonkhet gods out of it.
>>52650833
>>52650930
They're not incredibly powerful, but I like them. Snek is at least arguably playable and I kind of like Birb. I'm excited to see what Dundee does
I think it makes sense though. Bolas probably created them with the knowledge that they could try to betray him and wanted to be sure he could handle them.
The Theros gods look like gods. The Amonkhet gods look like... small giants? Except for maybe Kefnet, their art is unimpressive, and yeah, the name doesn't help.
The devotion mechanic of the Theros god is also more god-flavoured.
Village girl engaged with childhood friend. Completely chaste relationship. He is concripted by the army before they get married. Village girl searches for her fiance after hearing that their regiment suffered casualties. Sees that fiance is still alive but is shellshocked and suffering ptsd. He is comforted by the whore who sells her services to the army. She taunts the girl the she cant comfort the young man like she can. What should the virginal village girl do?
Can OP explain the point of this thread?

>The gene-seed of an Astartes is the foreign genetic material originally engineered using one of the Primarchs' genomes as a foundation. The gene-seed develops into the special organs that are then implanted into a potential Space Marine's body. These gene-seed organs are responsible for most of a Space Marine's physical enhancements over baseline human capability. All Space Marine gene-seed was originally cultivated by the Emperor himself from the DNA of the Emperor's 20 genetically-engineered sons (each son being the Primarch of one of the 20 Space Marine Legions of the First Founding), and is a rare and precious resource for the Space Marines of the Imperium, even in death. The biotechnology necessary to create new gene-seed has long been forgotten or lost to humanity; therefore, it must be cultivated from dead/dying Astartes warriors and returned to the Chapter's Apothecaries, who will oversee the creation of new Astartes from the Chapter's raw recruits. The gene-seed is the very essence of a Space Marine Chapter and it carries each of the characteristics that are particularly unique to a given Chapter, be they mental, physical, spiritual, or martial.
There's also a bunch of chemical, hormonal and physical operations to modify the body.
Pretty sure they can't procreate in the traditional sense
This game comes out in 3 days, and I don't think I've seen anyone discussing it.
Has anyone played or looking to get into the game?
The first of the extra two faction (Elves) was just previewed today.
Latari Elves Box
Elf box contents
Not a lot of talk on /tg/ about it for sure. Might buy into it with this new faction of the elves I also really like the undead guys a lot too.
Nevertheless for me atleast I like the aesthetic, the simplicity of the rules, and the ease of build and paintability of the models a lot. Shaping up to be a really good side game for me but I'm gonna wait a little longer.

To start us off, I had a question about Masks of Nyarlathotep. Well, two.
First, how do you pronounce Nyarlathotep? I'm inclined to say "Nyar-la-tho-tep" or "Nee-yar-lat-ho-tep."
Second, Jackson Elias is supposed to be a good friend of one of the investigators, but he's kinda thrown at you in the beginning and dies immediately. I'd like his death to have more significance. Can you recommend any precursor stories in which he could appear that wouldn't shatter his "I'm a skeptic and everything can be explained rationally" philosophy? I'm thinking he should appear in a couple small scenarios without mind-breaking mythos appearances so that the players come to know and like him -- take the Corbitt House Haunting as an example of something simple where he might just disbelieve or rationally explain the investigators' reports.

Have the PCs follow different rules than the rest of the world. IE bubble of Happylight around players when rest of the world is grimdark. Horrible things happen everywhere, except around the players where it's goofy fun.
In my mind, science is the real-world equivalent of magic. Mages increase their efficacy through study and discipline; scientists seek to understand and utilize the natural world in a comparable manner (the only difference being that exerting control over matter through sheer willpower is impossible in the real world). Following this reasoning, I figure that:
Chemist = Black Mage/Fire or Ice Mage
Biologist = Druid/Blue Mage
Physicist = Time Mage
Geologist = Geomancer
Medical Doctor = White Mage
Are there any glaring holes in my reasoning? I know this isn't one-to-one but I believe there is some overlap between disciplines.
>>52634619
Id agree with the chemist and biologist ones
>>52634619
FYI science and magic were indistinguishable until the late 18th century
What we consider physics, astronomy, botany, etc fell into the classifications of Alchemy and Natural Magic
Natural magic was distinguished from ceremonial magic or theurgy in that the magus used his knowledge of natural forces rather than summoning or achieving union with Divine & Infernal powers

First for Mimics in Warhammer.
So I've been playing Man O War, and I'm wondering what kind of ships other kinds of greenskins use.
I mean, everything they have is very mechanical and the greenskins shown are your standard Orc and Goblin plus Black Orcs. Their most basic ship has a Rock Lobba, their others have a power drill and giant arms.
So what would Night Goblins, Forest Goblins, and Savage Orcs use?

Because they're not playing D&D 3e/4e/5e/pathfinder/anykind of D&D 3e clone.
Why would anyone EVER pick cheap parlor tricks over real physical power?
Hard, Soft, Horror, Adventure, whatever. Let us celebrate the futuristic, the terrifying, and the weird.
I haven't seen a thread like this in a long while, although if there are still archives hanging around, I'd be happier than a space-pig in space-mud.
