FTL travel is possible because of a vast network of invisible hyperlanes connecting the stars in a haphazard fashion. A statecraft, properly outfitted, can produce a bubble of space-time, enter the hyperlane, and shoot to the other side at many times the speed of light. Travel time lasts anywhere from two weeks for the shortest hyperlanes, to three years for the longest.

It feels like there comes a cartoon point of any "you take quests and delve dungeons" style adventure where character motivations and personalities clash to such a point where the only reason they stay together is to avoid making someone at the table make a new character.
Do you guys have any strategies for making groups feel more cohesive? The party dynamic for almost every game I've ever played feels like it boiled down to "these guys all kill monsters for money and tolerate each other because the group needs an X"

They may not be good friends, they may even hate each others' guts, but in a line of work like theirs they absolutely have to learn to trust one another and work together.
I think the only point of contention would be their motivations: if they genuinely clash so badly that they can't all be fulfilled at once, then they might not be able to stick together. But otherwise they can make it work, and them disliking one another will become a humorous personality quirk rather than party-wrecking dysfunction.

Why do people have to be such jackasses? I literally broke my back to accomodate his character's personality, I wrote out DOZENS of notecards of famous battles throughout the history of my world for him to refer to. Yet that wasn't enough for him. Players are fucking parasites.

one of the most cancerous new trends in roleplaying is letting players retcon the setting for mechanical advantage. for example in Dungeon World, players are encouraged to describe what rumors they hear in town. that sort of behaviour is a bad trend.

So say the Imperium succesfully defends a world from a Xenos invasion, a Xenos that uses tech like Eldar or Tau.
What happens to the wreckage? There's a lot of dead xenos, and a lot of xenotech lying around but given how xenophobic the Imperium is what would they do with it?
Scrap it all for building material?
Let the Mechanicus show up to take it all away for 'research'?
Put it in a giant hole?
Shoot it into the sun?

I am about to start a new round. My first Idea was Scion. After posting here i have gotten the Impression the rule system is really fucked up.
After reading worm (nice setting, cringe inducing Story often) i am pumped for a parahuman setting.
Is the rule system of Aberrant equally fucked up?
Any experiences here? Stories from your group whatever?
Is the Scenario good? I am worried that the world of myths offers far more things to include and that the Aberrant setting offers to few antagonists etc.

Kind of. It holds alot of the same problems all early white wolf games did, weird meta plot and systems for combat and then not alot else.
Mega attributes aren't as crazy fucked as epic attributes are, but the more regular powers can go over the top as hell just like the knacks can.
What I will say is this, both scion and trinity are getting a second edition soon ish. Obviously it will be a while before you can run demi god level scions or novas, but if you're willing to be patient theres that option.

I'm sick of magic systems. I hate how every spell has a discrete effect, and you have to read through a big long list of bullshit to pick out a couple spells, and how fucking obtuse most magic systems are in general.

Try FATE, or to be more specific, the Dresden Files game.
Also, try playing with a not-shit GM. i.e. The 5e basic cantrips almost all allow you to light candles, campfires, things like that as one of their effects. A good GM will allow you to use that to set on fire an enemy you've doused in oil or something. The rules are just guidelines to play, not anything ironclad.
The key is to make it compelling storytelling. Don't just use it as a cheat button.
