What kind of value do you put on currency in your game?
>how much do you give during quest rewards?
>do your players actually like monetary gain or do they only care about magic items?
When ever my players buy food or drink and it comes to anything less than a gp they ALWAYS just give away a whole gp to whoever they buy it from. It kind of pisses me off because it's essentially tipping $50 on a $2 meal
>>55242870
I'm the DnD game I ran, the value of a single GP kept coming up and we constantly had endless arguments about it. The players ended up not willing to do anything for less than 1000 GP, even when they were simply killing goblins for peasants.
We're currently playing Savage Worlds where everything is priced in dollars. You get starting funds of $500, and everything is about what it would cost in American dollars. I thought it would bother me at first, but we just call them silver dollars and the change copper pennies. It's so fucking nice to have everything cost similar to what we are used to in real life. There's no confusion anymore.
>>55242870
I always try to use multiple currencies and try to make it clear that gold is rare and valuable but 2 sessions in it always turns into 1 gold= €1.
I should just give up and call them gil or royal dollars or something.
>>55242870
Currencies run the gamut so everyone tends to barter, haggle, and/or suck off.
Rai stones became oddly common on one archipelago, housecats were made a currency for all of two days in a particularly incestuous republic the PCs had managed to wreck, and a thalassocracy straight out of the Ordovician succeeded where all others had failed by using copper-gold alloy.

I'd like to play d&d but I have zero experience. So from what I've heard the game is extremely hard to get into. A friend ofl mine quit after he still didn't understand the gamesystem after playing for half a year. Another dude told me it takes 2 months to understand the basics. So I'm willing to take some time to learn it, but really, months? How can a game be this hard to understand and why is that?
Theres this local gameshop where theres a weekly event. So I think I join that group. Or maybe hang up some flyers to get a group with noobs and one experienced game master? What do you think
Pic unrelated
I'm sorry to say but your friends are idiots. If we are talking about 5th edition it's quite easy to understand. Just learn the basics and other stuff when they come into play.
Unfortunately I don't have any tips on finding a group. I have always gamed with friends.
>>55242706
Your friends are stupid. Just read the PHB before playing, and if there's stuff you have trouble with the other players should be happy to help you. If not, they're assholes and you shouldn't be playing with them anyway.
>being friends with cannon fodder
>The players are dumbfounded because the magocracy is good. They expected necromancer, slavery etc
Are good magocracies so rare?
>>55242660
Magocracy may be utopian, dystopian, neither, or both, depending on the nature of magic in your world.
>>55242660
Westerners have been indoctrinated since birth into believing democracy is the One True Way. Monarchies can get a pass if modern democracy hasn't been invented yet, but the idea of any other system not necessarily being a bad thing will make heads explode.
I don't expect any government to be good. Neutral is what I expect. Being evil or neutral is far easier for a government than good. I can not think of a single good leaning government.
In real life I can only think of LN/LE/NE/CE Examples. Though the CE ones are more failed states than governments.
two chapters released at once for sad girl in card games. seeing as there won't be a dungeon meshi thread to crash this month, anyone else betting on whether the exhibition match is an agonizing grind, or a thrown match with a jank deck?
>>55242055
Is it ever anything other than an agonizing grind?
>>55242069
well it could just be good stuff.dec
>>55242089
There's 2 chapters left. My bet is ch21 since she learns she can play for fun, she goes back to her trash deck that she loved at the start of the mango, and then ch22 is an epilogue with her finally getting a bf.
Cards that reward you for being an experienced player with knowledge of the card base, meta and all of the tiered decks in a format are the best and most skill-intensive cards.
>>55241858
Agreed.
Level of skill: STAX > Drawgo > Other Control > Midrange > Combo > Creatures: The Tappening
>>55241880
I would put combo above midrange.
>>55241925
Depends on the combo and the midrange, really.
>DM: I've made a custom alignment chart instead of the standard d&d one
What alignment is your character now?
>>55241812
Is alignment their skin tone, or what they'd want to fuck most?
>>55241812
>implying black people and elves are evil
>implying moeshit is good
I do not follow the ideals of African Queen, I'm a pure paladin of her glorious dusky skin goddessness

INQUISITOR MARTYR THREAD
Because /v/ and /vg/ fucking suck, this thread is for the newest 40k vidya where you play as an Inquisitor, build a retinue join a cabal (guild), and purge the unclean.
The game kinda sucks since it's in early access but fuck it's 40k so I spent my shekels on it

You are a good goy like me. I have bought like every Warhammer game ever released (bar the extremely shitty mobile ones) hoping for something good and to show GW that people do care. I'm just a sucker for their lore. Once in a while we get a DoW or Total War and it's all worth it (except DoW3 fuck this game).
>open world
>sandbox
That makes me sad.

Am I powergaming if my Awakened character goes in heavy on Professional Training and Mystery Cult Influence?
>>55240819
It is impossible to powergame as a mage
>>55240819
Nope. You are powergaming if you spend all Merit dots on Gnosis.

Thread Question: What legends do you think are better in the 99 of somebody else?
>>55240362
Abilities from imprinted artifacts is not activated. He's a good secondary combo enabler along Ooze.
>>55240362
>What legends do you think are better in the 99 of somebody else?
Pic related in pretty much every black deck ever.Sure as fuck doesn't stop me from using him as a commander though.

Most of them.

He'll probably kill the fighter, then the wizard, part flee's
then they figure out his schtick and use roll or die spells like every game in every system.

>Humans are the "versatile and adaptible" race
>>55237302
>Chinatsu isn't a shit character
people who play exclusively humans while there are alternatives available are retarded
also GMs that only allow humans, elves, orcs (green humans, not the actually cool kind), dwarves and gnomes should fucking neck themselves
>>55237897
If you need to play as some bug person with six testicles in order to create an interesting character, you aren't a good player.
Human is all you need.
>>55237029
No, it's dumb as fuck, as is that whole series, and just an excuse for magic.
I've never seen a STANDO POWA chart like this Op, which JoJo is it from
>>55237050
>just an excuse for magic
It is magic, you moron.
I hope I got this right edition...

We will return
I hope I posted this on the right place...
I used to toy with WHFB when I was younger, but recently I saw the Disciples of Tzeentch and I thought they were absolutely bitchin' and had to get back into the game.
Beyond the resources given could anybody give me some pointers on getting started specifically with the Disciples? I was hoping to run a horde/summoning army with emphasis on Pink, Blue and Brimstone horrors before incorporating other units.
Also, are there max unit sizes? As I'm hoping in the long run to base my unit size and army structure somewhat around the Roman Army. I know that could go into thousands and thousands and thousands of models, but I wouldn't mind bigger than life battles.
Sorry if this is the wrong place for asking.
