I've got an almost similar collection myself. I used to try Pimsleur and Japanese for busy people.

Pimsleur is fucking boring. Japanese for busy people is almost fucking useless. JapanesePOD is a lot better and a lot less boring. Their PDF is actually very helpful. However, I didn't actually learn that much until I've used a tablet. Browsing PDFs on the Tablet while on the train/bus. Sure, you could use a PC/Laptop or print the PDFs. But a tablet would go a long way for this type of learning technique.

Human Japanese is fucking useful. Tablet app is awesome, worth it and cheap. Bought it.

Even if you take all the Levels, 1-3, you won't learn much for the time you put into it. It progresses too slowly and the only benefit of it is that they include speaking portions and focus on immersion.

It's not a good tool in the long run.

Because the languages are interesting and unlike like any other. Also, you can say that about any language that's not English, really. It's the international language of science and business, and many countries teach it as a second language. If not, they are starting to so they can be competitive in global industries. So if anything, I have no incentive to learn other languages. Also, I'm not terribly interested in learning the popular languages. After hearing them so much, they sound old hat to my ears. I have other reasons for being interested in native languages, but they don't pertain to pragmatism, so I won't mention them. Just realize that not everybody wants to learn a language based on how many existing speakers make it useful to do so. If that were the case, we should only be focusing lon Chinese since it is the most spoken language in the world (nearly 1 billion speakers) and their economy is growing immensely.

Those are language packs. You need to have the actual Rosetta Stone program installed/cracked first. Then when you open it you can add new languages.
