Spoilers for the LN until volume 14 on this post.

I've been reading the LN and finished the 14th volume recently.

The more I read the series, the more I think the author is planning for all sealed spirits to be captured by Westcott and have Shidou make a showdown using the powers of all spirits he captured, but in this time in a controlled manner.

The series has made it clear that Westcott won't stop going after the spirits to inverse them even if they're sealed. This naturally raises the question of how will the sealed spirits defend themselves. Volume 13 actually pissed me off when Westcott even fucking described what he has done to Nia when he attempted multiple times to inverse her through pain.

On volume 14 Mukuro actually raises this question to Shidou and he is unable to answer her. Actually, he even ponders on this question himself but I didn't see an answer to it on that volume.

What do you guys think?

Not really, I was talking about the series as a whole. Season 2 was like a downgrade from its predecessor and that animation didn't do justice, I only enjoyed the last couple of episodes.
