What do you want to understand?

The team with the ball is trying to get it to the endzone, the other team is trying to stop them.

They get 4 attempts to move it 10 yards and if they do this they get a new set of 4 attempts (downs).

Possession switches over to the other team when there is an Interception, Fumble or the other team fails to get 10 yards in 4 downs.
