10/10 blue eyed huskies are better than anything ever.
Rate my cat instead
I work at a shelter, and this guy was one of my favorite dogs we've ever had. I still cry sometimes when I see his picture up in our office after he had to be euthanized. sad as fuck
>>22767395
his favorite toy
All dogs should get 10/10 because they are the best
>>22767386
Poor fella, why'd he have to be put down?

"aggressive behavior", but it was complete BS that would have never happened if my ex boss wasn't such a moron. green text time
>doggo gets brought in by animal control as a stray
>super playful and bouncy, nice dog all around, named him Oscar
>during his behavior assessment found out he had resource guarding (didn't like you taking away/touching his food), but otherwise no major issues, something we can and do easily work on with dogs
>makes a lot of progress with our trainer, not perfect but in the short amount of time, pretty damn amazing
>he's a big dog with a lot of energy so not a whole lot of people interested in him
>he starts showing signs of kennel stress so we send him to foster to "decompress"
>normally handled by our foster/volunteer manager, our shitty boss said she had a friend that wanted to start fostering
>her friend has a toddler, even though his age limit is 12+ because of his energy level/size and resource guarding
>shitty boss insists it's fine and her friend knows to watch her kid and Oscar and to continue the training
>literally no one agrees with her but she does it anyway
>a week later find out her friend didn't do any of the training and the kid (unsupervised) decided to grab oscar's face while he was eating and he nipped her. didn't even need medical attention but still broke the skin
>shitty boss flips shit saying he's an aggressive dog and needs to be euthanized
>normally one bite (especially such a low grade bite) isn't enough to have a dog put down but since it was her friend she bitches until she got her way
>our director found out the next day and drove down from our administration offices to personally fire her in person for it
>mfw I was the one holding him in my arms as he got the blue juice
it's been months and I'm still incredibly angry over it

If it serves any consolation, we've adopted one 9 months ago that looks a lot like him, shep mix, and he didn't spend more than 20min at the shelter before we picked him out and were ready to go home with him.
Seek revenge for this in your dreams where you slap away that blue juice, take him in your arms, and run home to spend a lifetime worth of cuddles with him. RIP bb
shelter anon again
>two dogs came in as strays
>she's completely deaf and her brother helps her
>adopting them out as a bonded pair
>want to take them myself but I already have three
;_;

Too precious for this world ;____;

Worked a shelter too as animal control. The community service folks and the doctors were all cool, the officers and faculty were like, 10% cool and 90% just shitty miserable people. Here's one of my parting memories of that place.
>get called to pick up aggressive animal from petsmart
>go to the back, friendly husky greets us. Play with him for a bit.
>manager shows up
>ask her to lead my partner and I to the dog
>she points at the husky
>uwatnigga.zip
>as the story goes, some retarded mom left her child to its own devices when playing with the dog.
>dog got excited, jumped up and scratched him with his paw
>retard mom freaks and goes to the hospital
>broke the skin so rabies quarantine
>stick this perfectly fine husky in this darkened room where little sunlight comes and only authorized staff are allowed
>sits there for 10 days listening to dogs bark like mad at the slightest sound
>admin listed the dog as adoptable, in a place people couldn't go to see it
>after 10 day quarantine period is up, it's shelter time is also up
>gets put down
A horrible fate engineered by careless shitty people.
This is my little weenie.
>>22773516
that's pretty shitty. I'm lucky in that we don't have a "time limit" on our dogs, but I've worked at a high kill shelters as well. it's really mind numbing
>braindead parent doesn't properly supervise child when with dog
>something happens
>dog is blamed
I'm so sick of that shit honestly. we have a great dog in that has a mark on his record for "biting" a child when the kid was being a piece of shit and pretty much terrorizing him. so now if someone wants to adopt him they have to sign a form saying "I TAKE ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DOG WHO WAS AT ONE POINT KNOWN FOR AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR TOWARDS PEOPLE" and if we don't then the county will put us in deep shit. it's total BS. pic related

Is that a red heeler? I've spent my whole life around blues. Wish I could have one but apartment life is no life for a heeler
>>22773814
yeah, he's a red heeler/pit mix, name's Duke. we just put him in foster for a little break from kennel stress though
and at least you can recognize that they aren't the fit for your lifestyle at the moment. I've lost track of all the herding breeds and huskies we get in due to them being cooped up all day and acting crazy because of it, then the owner thinks it's just because they're a "bad dog"
