Honest to god how fat am I /soc/ ? This is probably more of a question for /fit/ But they can be really mean, and i'm not a very confident person.

I want to lose 100lbs by this time next year

So, I"m doing this now. I'm at the point where I want to lose a hundred pounds by this time next year. Not sure if it's possible, but if any fitness people can help me. Not going to lie, not going to make excuses, I have an unhealthy relationship with food. I eat to cure my emotional problems, and have an addiction to fatty not good for you foods.
It's hard to admit that, but it's the god honest truth. I'm tired of covering it up with "Oh I just forget or Oh I just get bored"
How do you lose a significant amount of weight? How do you keep it off? How much does excercize REALLY play into it? How do you stay motivated when all you want is chalupas and ice cream?
I'm tired of yoyoing. I"m tired of heaving when I walk up a flight of stairs, or hiding around a corner when i'm trying to catch my breath after walking to class. I'm Fat. I realize I'm fat, and I want to change that. No quick lose ten pound plans. No "diet for a month" No "eat nothing for a few days"
I want to do this for real, and I want to do this right. The question is how.

If you want to tone up and make it so you can eat a bit more regularly, start doing a lot of cardio. Run, walk, bike, swim for at least an hour to two a day.

Make yourself a calorie goal and never go above it

Give yourself one SLIGHT cheat day a week.
