2) When abbreviating things, you don't typically just take the last letter and append it to the abbreviation (it's Richard->Rich, not Richard ->Richd)
3) "Britsh English" and "General American English" are two different dialects of the same language, not "correct" and "incorrect" versions of one language. We're allowed to have different words and conventions for abbreviating things.
