"How Did The Universe Begin?"

Is this a malformed question?

Why do some physicists pretend they have the "answer"?
>>
It began with the Big Bang.

which begs the question where did that ball of matter come from
>>
>>7641578
From nothing
>>
>>7641578
le quantum fluctuations

"Insufficient data for a meaningful answer."
>>
Look op we have theories. Honestly who cares? Just because we dont REALLY know doesnt mean some god did it if thats where u want to go with it. Study things that will further human race not spread us apart.
>>
>>7641578
it does not "beg the question"

the premise did not include its own conclusion. stop using this phrase incorrectly.
>>
>>7641572
loaded question. what makes you think it "begin" in the first place ?
>>
>>7641782
Okay, so what's the term for a statement which is meant to answer a question, but raises a blatantly obvious question itself?
>>
>>7641572
many pseudoscience documentaries and aggressive anti-atheists will hammer on that proponents of the big bang theory think that 'nothing exploded into being'.

AFAIK, big bang theory came about by observing that galaxies are moving apart over time, all from roughly the same point of origin. Thus if you trace that back in time, they all came from a single point. Later we added on other stuff about inflation, etc.

So in other words, we don't know what happened before the big bang. We have no proof that 'nothingness then turned into the big bang somehow'. Anybody professing that is basing it purely out of their own sentiment.

>Ball of energy
Matter was created in the expansion.
Matter creation WAS the expansion.
It gave a reference for space and time.
Otherwise, it'd remain a singularity of energy with no notion of space/time.
>>
>>7642190
There was no infinitely dense singularity.
It would need to be made of matter for that to be true. For matter to exist there must be space. For something to be able to move across space, there must be time.
Infinity and singularity are one and the same.
Thing is, that ball of energy was vibrating at such a speed that it was invisible to existence. It wasn't dense, it was moving to fast too be perceived. The only prevailing sense being "I am".
As soon as that was perceived the universe had a semblance of shape. And gave itself reference to itself, from which the universe continued to expand into more complex shapes as this sense of I am is trying to figure out what the fuck it is.

big bang theory came about by inferring that galaxies are moving apart over time

People brought up in a monotheistic culture (including internet atheists) usually have a built-in bug in their mental firmware that can easily be exploited by ideologies, especially when they come in the guise of authority or science.

They are unable to even ponder the thought that there is no nothing, no beginning, no end, no linear time; just eternal cycles of transformation.

Merely insinuating that their (almost hard-wired) big bang myth has serious conceptual problems is like telling a second-grader that there is no Santa Claus: instant mental stack overflow, emotional thinking takes over, frontal lobe out of business for a while..

Add to that the local dominance of the authoritarian follower personality type, both overworked and undereducated, and behold the common core of the united states of mind.

Good night from the alien timezone.
