hey i want to get a science degree but am awful at math. what should i consider a degree in i like natural things
>>8615525
is botany a good major
Botany isn't a good bachelor's degree. Get environmental BS then a botany or plant science MS.
>>8615605
thanks also i want to try for a masters degree
What sources of news do you follow?
I follow KurzweilAI, Futuretimeline and New Scientist.
Which sources would you reccommend?
/pol/
infowars
CNN
So, I just drop out of medschool to pursuit a career more focused on scientific research (physiology, microbiology)
Was this the right choice?
Will I die from starvation?
>>8615181
>Was this the right choice?
No, you are fucked. You will be psychologically fucked. Look, you will probably be able to make a good buck in your field but it is going to be peanuts compared to what doctors make. Why does this matter? Because now making the wage of a doctor is in your basket of "could have been". Now every day when you collect a paycheck you will remember those days in medschool and think "there could be an extra 0 in there... if only...". You are fucked. This is going to eat you from the inside.
Others will be fine. I was never even close to becoming a doctor so if I consider the idea of earning what a doctor makes I just laugh. "Lol, like that was ever going to happen". But you? You were really close and you let it go. Now you are fucked.
I give 10 years before you kill yourself.
>>8615185
In my home country doctors don't earn as much as doctors in the US

Oh then you good m8.
>not building a nuclear reactor

Looking good OP
Do you have a design you are following?
Where will you source the Pt/U?
>>8615117
Fusion uses Deutorium.
Not following any plans. But I've made my own design on AutoCAD.
>>8615135
Good luck I suppose
Which is the best degree /sci/?
>>8614965

Get a job working for a think tank ~100k starting
>Minor: African American and/or gender studies
Needs to be something topical so that you have some modern analysis to contribute to any think tank discussions.
Anything else is autism and/or retarded.
Should I fall for the molecular biology and genetics meme?
I don't like physics because I'm fucking retarded by the way.
what's the REAL REASON grass is green?
the deepest physical reason.
dont gimme that because chlorophyll is green.
well what makes it green.
it reflects all other wavelenghts. WELL WHY
>>8614631
The sun is yellow
The sky is blue
Yellow + blue = green
>>8614638
bruh
>>8614631
It's just a coincidence, there are other colors that would work just as well but the green variant is the one that got started earliest.
Is it possible for people who are going insane to realize that they are going insane?
Do you realize that your dreams are crazy and illogical while experiencing them?
Probably not.
That's an insane person's life.
>>8614597
Yes it's perfectly possible, people commit themselves all the time voluntarily.
Is there any way to render yourself mute? I have my reasons.
>>8614182
Cut your vocal cord.
stop talking
duct tape or yell yourself hoarse/to the point of rupture
Does /sci/ believe tachyons exist

The proof is in the absence of proof. LMAO
I found pic related written in the back of an old reference book, with no explanation. It looks similar to a Nilakantha expression, can /sci/ confirm?
[math] \displaystyle \pi =3- \frac{1}{1 \times 2 \times 3}+ \frac{1}{2 \times 3 \times 5}- \frac{1}{3 \times 4 \times 7}+ \cdots[/math]
>>8613331
I don't know what the fuck is going on because in the first term where n=1, you get a division by 0.
>>8613345
my mistake, the second factor in the denom
should be (n + 1)
this is the similar Nilakantha expression
[math] \displaystyle \pi =3-4 \sum_{n \geq 1} \frac{(-1)^n}{2n(2n+1)(2n+2)}[/math]

I prefer numbers that actually exist, e.g. numbers that can be represented as a quotient of integers.
What specific job lets me do this?

Middle school physical science teacher.

How do you study peptides? Is it with a spectrometer? Also what is your favorite type of microscope? I love the SEM.
>>8615705
By injecting them into the brains of rodents and running behavioral tests.
>Is it with a spectrometer?
Probably yes, along with other techniques for measuring binding etc.
Are you going to fuck up some peptides anon?
>>8615752
Im trying to do some undergraduate research on insect AMPs. I dont know how to get/extract/whatever peptides so any good links or literature would be appreciated.

>still no cure for balding
Explain yourselves, /sci/entologists
>>8615564
That's not balding, it's called a widow's peak, and it's a very common type of hairline.
>>8615568
It's a stage of balding, I didn't know personally until my own hairline started receding and I became painfully aware of everything to do with balding
Some guys lose the whole thing at once, other's have this pattern progression that starts with a widows peak
>>8615564
>still no cure for balding
As Hippocrates noted, castration prevents balding. The issue here is that most men care more about their balls than their hairline.
