We can explain how magnets work in great detail. We can't explain where the universe came from, how, and why.

No, the Moon goes around the Earth 28 times slower than the Earth spins on its axis, and the rope is attached to that.

So I'm gonna go driveby some rival gang with my homies from the hood, and we realized we have some trouble with the physics of shooting from a car. Pic related.

Which one is correct? The top one or the bottom one?
Assume the car is moving at a constant speed. The crosshair is always at the same relative distance (and same angle) ahead of the car (you could say it's moving with the car). And I fire a gun pointing at the crosshair.
Does the bullet continue its course towards the crosshair at the next moment in time? Or will it fall behind as the car (and crosshair) keep moving at the same speed?

Also, does this depend on the speed of the bullet? I mean if hypothetically the bullet were slower than the car, would it change the result?
Also assume there's no air friction and gravity and stuff like that unless it's really important.

>Fat bitch with her hair dyed ORANGE AND GOLD raises her hand and says "Uhh, that contradicts the bible" or some shit.
>Professor enters damage control mode. Looks fucking scared. We live in a christian majority country.
>Defends by claiming that sometimes you ask faith, sometimes you ask science. And that in this class we would refer to science more than faith. He tells her that she needs to accept both sides.
>The girl unironically says: Well, I don't want to believe in science. I see no logic in it.
>Professor just answers: Well, hopefully by the end of this course you will see the logic.

If neanderthals or homo sapiens in Europe are theorized to be smarter because their cold environment forced them to get inventive to survive, why aren't people from all other cold regions also as smart and technologically advanced as Europe? For example the people from Yakutsk who live in the coldest region of this planet that has temperatures down to -71°C? And not just this town, obviously all of Siberia. They seem to live relatively primitive and aren't known to be vastly intelligent, although it's extremely cold there.
And what about Asians and Semites (Jews) who don't live in cold areas at all, but are far smarter on average than whites?

Why would you think advancement has anything to do with cold climates?
The technological/intellectual advancement of European civilization started in the south, lots of it not even in continental Europe proper, and then drifted north over the centuries via Roman imperialism and natural cultural contact.

"Intelligence" of primitive people is close to pointless to talk about, because primitive Europeans and Neanderthals are gone. We can't test their intellect.

I don't know anything about economics maybe someone here does so please answer some questions : also some random ones

1. Do Capitalists believe in infinite growth?

2. What is China plan? All I see is ghost towns, why are they building and polluting so much? What is the purpose?

3. Will all animal species besides insects go extinct due to badly planned human development? (like how we should be building in 3D and not 2D.)

4. Why don't we create multi storing cattle farms? I don't mean a skyscrapper but more of a slope with 4 stories covered in grass, wouldn't that help?

5. Is money bad? If I raise my own food and generate my own water and electricity am I doing a disservice to the economy? If suddenly all the people in my country (11mil) did that what would happen? Is the economy solely supported by mindless consumerism? If Ai takes all the jobs away what next?

6. Isn't the point of life to have good friends and family, be healthy and reproduce? Why do some people find so much solace in money? (Looking at japan suicides being work related for example)

7. Is increased CO2 gonna asphyxiate us all to death?

8. Could we change the world and create really amazing things if we all diverted our maximum effort for a couple of months? (Like the ebola vaccine), it seems to me most technological advances are slowed or stopped by bureaucracy and self interests.

9. Do you think trump is gonna create a lot of jobs at the expense of the environment and everyone is going to be very happy for a 7 years and then they meet reality? Or does he have a different plan?

9. Are you optimist for the future?

Note : Sometimes I want to get away from it all, is the middle of greenland a good way? I'm thinking of a geodesic greenhouse home made of steel and plastic translucid panels + aquaponics and solar but costs might be to much, maybe tristan da cunha idk.

I think modern education culture place too much emphasis on "understanding" instead of just doing practice problems. You don't really understand the course if you cannot do the problems.

Hi,

I'm an arts and letters guy but I like to wander around numbers sometimes. I was studying basic math these days and I wonder, is there anyway to know how many prime numbers thre are between two concrete numbers? Any algorithm, formula?

Is that a dumb question?

Thanks anyway

>Is that a dumb question?
Yes, because it's googleable.
>>
>>8616765
The primes have a weird density in the natural numbers. There's graphs about it you can find. To date, there's no known way to predict the density. If there were, we could prove there was an infinite number of primes.
>>
>>8616765
>is there anyway to know how many prime numbers thre are between two concrete numbers?

The only way to do this is by using the prime counting function, which does not have a closed form (yet?).

The best you can do is estimate it. You can give lower bounds and upper bounds.

Couple weeks into calculus 1 now, doing well, already past the chain rule and beyond. Quotient rule was a joke. Product rule remains my specialty.

I ask my professor his thoughts on quantum mechanics and partial derivatives. He's impressed i know about the subject. We converse after class for some time, sharing mathematical insights; i can keep up. He tells me of great things ahead like series and laplacians. I tell him i already read about series on wikipedia. He is yet again impressed at my enthusiasm. What a joy it is to have your professor visibly brighten when he learns of your talents.

And now I sit here wondering what it must be like to be a brainlet, unable to engage your professor as an intellectual peer.

All of the deep conversations you people must miss out on because you aren't able to overcome the intellectual IQ barrier that stands in the way of your academic success... it's so sad.

My professor and I know each other on first name basis now, but i call him Dr. out of respect.

And yet here you brainlets sit, probably havent even made eye contact with yours out of fear that they will gauge your brainlet IQ levels.

A true shame, but just know it is because i was born special that i am special. I can't help being a genius, nor can my professor.

Two of a kind is two flocks in a bush.
