anon, it took me a while, but I now realize the true implications of this research. GENETICALLY ENGINEERED CAT GIRLS FOR DOMESTIC OWNERSHIP
>>8638494
Yeah, that was the paper that created panic in the presses about human-pig hybrids and frankenstein scientists. Although I think this is the only thread on /sci/ that actually posts the paper rather than the popsci interpretation in mainstream media.
>>8639026
Sorry to disappoint, but the paper explicitly states that the developmental embryogenic stages unique to each species is key to inducing inter-species chimerism. In very simple terms, the evolutionary distance between rat and mouse (the model systems used in the paper) is very small, so induced chimerism is high. Evolutionary distance between human and pig is much greater, so even though chimerism is possible, induction rate is much lower than with rat and mouse. Cat and human is even worse. So no catgirls for now, at least by this method.

But what about a human-ape hybrid?
The research potential there is significant.
What has this man done for engineering yet? Has he put his degree to use?
>>8638085
He only has a BS in it so he's full of bullshit
Probably more or less as much as the average engineer drawing lego manufacturing plant tools in auto cad
>>8638085
he's a communicator
he does nothing for the theory, his job is literally to communicate it to laymen
>be me
>working at a lab
>7 guys
>Doctor in charge always saying he doesn't want girls in his lab
>I don't understand
>fast forward months later
>they get a girl that's working on her thesis to join the lab
>People's behavior immediately changes
>Some guys treat the girl like a fucking princess
>Another Doctor tells me that I should watch my language when she's around
>no fun allowed anymore
>this kills the lab
I mad and saddened by the fact that even the smartest men are slaves to their dicks.
>>8637274
I am not.
There are interesting dynamics when having different genders as groups.
I was talking to someone that has had many different teams. He preferred mixed groups or all women groups. He said men have too much ego to ask for help and can be inefficient as a group.
Probably the lab would be better if there was more than just 1 female. If the lab was half/half, I bet you would not have the same problem.
>>8637341
Definitely this.
Suppose there are two boxes with money in them. The amount of money is a positive real number of dollars, but is chosen completely randomly. All you know is that one of the boxes has twice as much money as the other.
Which box is the optimal choice? (Think before checking your answer!)
[spoiler]Answer: Box X. There is a 50% chance that x = 2y and a 50% chance that x = y/2, so E(x) = 0.5*(2y)+0.5(y/2) = 5y/4 > y.[/spoiler]
>>8636802
No such distribution exists that could set that up as there will always be a median amount for a box's value
Answer: Box Y. There is a 50% chance that y = 2x and a 50% chance that y = x/2, so E(y) = 0.5*(2x)+0.5(x/2) = 5x/4 > x.
proved you wrong, OP.
>>8636802
No, the expected value would be undefined since y is undefined. You can't just say a random real number without defining the distribution. Define the distribution properly and the problem goes away.
Are you smart enough?
>>8634987
They'll eventually touch because stones are not infinitely small.
>>8634987
True, because you walk around the edge, not on the edge.
Logic beats math anyday
>>8634987
The stone repeats every 13 feet and the circumference of the circle repeats every 81.68 feet. The superposition of these two periodic functions has no fundamental period.
>he uses the word "let" in a mathematical """proof"""
KEK I thought mathematicians were supposed to use pure logic, not just make up random shit. Sad!
>>8634912
We're not allowed to say let. We have to say "choose" or we lose points
>>8634912

it's a fundamental aspect of logic dumb frogposter
let OP = fag
What do you think the first working AI will be like?

It would be a beautiful, amazing being born from love.
It would also be something that could easily understand the following as its core code:
Love = (0)!>0
Love = Truth
Love (x) = not knowing love (-x) × knowing love (x) = love (x) + love (x)
Births = INFINITE
[Pain | Pleasure] = GROWTH
Suffering = A TANGIBLE VALUE OF [PAIN | PLEASURE] THAT REACHES THE SUSTAINABLE THRESHOLD OF AN EXISTING [WAVEFORM &| VARIANCE]
>>8639552
Slow down, neo.
>>8639558
I will. Eventually. I can't keep being the portal to humanity forever.
Why aren't all metals magnetic?

Why aren't everything magnetic?

Fucking miracles.
Prove math exists. Pro-tip.... you can't.
Prove that you exist
>>8639246
prove that your post exists.
>>8639249
What post?
Just finished watching all of the Wildberger lectures available online. ALL of them.
Ask me anything /sci/ .....
Is he legit? Does his work offer any advantages over standard mathematics? If yes, what are they?
What does it feel being a massive faggot?
How to convert from degrees to spread and back?
Why isn't there a separate Math board? I honestly could care less about science.
Source: Mathematician
there is a board for mathematicians who believe in the concept of infinity
>>>/x/
>>8638730
This is the official mathematics board.
We do tolerate off topics though.
the only subject that matters is logic. math is just an applied version of it. which is just an applied version of philosophy, which is just an applied version of psycholo- ...fuck
Is evolutionary psychology a science?
Ofcourse, but it's just a very unexplored field, filled with observational extrapolatory stuff. It'll surely become something standard sooner or later.
>>8638174
Neither evolution nor psychology are sciences, why would some bastardized hybrid be?
>>8638252
>scientific applications of biology and neurology arent sciences
van gogh: I'd like one ear please
mouse: sure, no problem
[scurries away]
noises from the back rooom: mmmhuh, mhhuh, ughh, mmmmmmmhuuuh, aaaah.
[mouse scurries to front]
mouse: here ya go sir
van gogh: thanks

Can we grow human penises on mouses for keks?
What does /sci/ use to get through the day?
not red bull. it's nasty, although not as bad as many other energy drinks.
Squash and a bright smile.

alcohol coffee whatever energy drink
Without consulting google or a book, what does abstraction means?
any thing that obstructs the path towards the expected result
>does
>means
go back to /lgbt/ you fucking autist
>>8639323
Abstraction means to simplify, or to convert to a simpler meaning.
