is like 1 am i need new pants.
Will the public ever be able to accept the inevitable exhaustion of non renewable resources and the resulting civilizational collapse? If not, what is the evolutionary basis for this?
>>9144215
When we run out of one resource we'll just use another for our furnaces. Like your corpse.
>>9144215
There's an effectively infinite supply of clean energy via nuclear fusion/ the sun, and raw materials can all be recycled.
But if you want to follow the "civilization is evil" trope and live like a stupid animal, that's totally your choice.
>>9144229
>effectively infinite supply of clean energy
>effectively infinite
Why do you post blatant lies? Does it bring you sexual satisfaction of some kind? What is the evolutionary advantage of this?
>raw materials can all be recycled
Not sure if you believe complete recycling is possible, but for the sake of my sanity I'll assume you don't.
Where does the difficulty in accepting reality stem from? Why did you two shits respond aggressively and why did the dumber of you two attribute to me views that I had not expressed? What is the evolutionary basis for this?
What causes a freshly dead body to turn grey? I thought the stopping of blood flow would just mean lighter skin or paleness but when I saw a dead body IRL 15 or 30 minutes postmortem it was grey and pale and not white and pale.
Wait, are midichlorians real ? I thought it was just a star wars thing ?
>>9144076
That's a mitochondria. It synthesizes ATP, which is used to fuel many reactions in a cell.
>>9144083
So star wars was right ?
Did you know mitochondria were able to live outside the cell at one point, and is basically the first instance of domestication/slavery in recorded history?
I wonder, does this mean mitochondria are their own organism? Are mitochondria more alive than a virus is?
Is Mars our future or will we all be long dead before we can visit there?
>>9144054
who's this cum plum?
>>9144057
dont know, found this picture on /jp/ or /g/
>>9144065
any more?
are there any science related podcasts that I can learn something from?
No.
Sorry, doesn't exist on the internet.
No.
Sorry, doesn't exist at all.
>>9144002
Actually, sarcasm aside.... Try the Feynman lectures videos.
the rest is pop-fiziks that will just confuse you and make you stupid.
True or False???
>>9143854
>Chad saying sorry
>>9143920
fuck, you're right.
fixed
Can we get a science humour thread?

What kind of tree does the chemist like?
I don't know what is it?
A chemist-tree.
Hahaha
Can anyone explain to me what energy is in machine learning and the idea of minima and how it relates to learning, models etc.
More so, i'm also wondering about the whole relationship betwen thermodynamics and machine learning. Whats that about?
>>9143701
The only parallel (I'm aware of) between ML and thermodynamics is the concept of entropy.
Entropy, being (informally) a measure of the number of (or more precisely, distribution of) feasible "states" or "configurations" of a system translates naturally to a form of uncertainty quantification in ML.
You may wish to have a look at "Shannon Entropy" if this interests you.
>>9143784
Other parallels are the boltzmann distribution. And all neural networks seem to be quantifiable by an energy which seems to have been borrowed from chemical physics (?).
Is there any way to correct vision naturally?
I have astigmatism -0.25 CYL and minimum for contact lenses is -0.75.
It gives me headaches and I would like it to grow to -0.75 or drop it somehow
pls respond
something else is causing your headache

I am near-sighted and found out that I can "adjust" my sight by pressing on my eyes to make light converge to the right point (but since it is not uniform the result isn't uniform, it's mostly blurry except for a small part of the image I see, which permits me, for example, to read what time is it from a distance which would be prohibitive)
also, it makes me look like a total idiot so I only do this at home when no one's around, and it is probably harmful too
AND it probably won't help with headaches, just a funny trick
Stopping time is the shittiest superpower ever.
Because you literally couldn't inhale the air around you cuz it would have to move faster than all fuck. You wouldn't be able to move at all either for the same reason.
>tfw if i could stop time i would'nt be able to move and would suffocate.
>4 minutes after the class should have started
>I'm the only one in the room
Is there some secret code normies use to communicate?
>after 3 minutes the teacher and 4 students arrive together
How?
It's called the academic quarter...
>>9143563
>loiter outside of classroom
>walk in when the teacher arrives
Literally what the fuck is this?
My mother found it in an old school and brought it home.
It says "Physica" on it and its made in Germany.
Sorry for it behind rotated.
This thing is made out of glass and the yellow shit is some unknown liquid.
This is technology >>>/g/
The wheel on the right doesnt do anything when its spun and the fucker weighs almost nothing at all.
I have no idea what this thing is.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
anti german fags btfo
yay deutschland
It had to be made because of a huge spike of dildo lodgings on men's anuses, sources say

Its a conspiracy, the earth is actually flat, and the Jews tricked you into thinking there was no ancient aliens.
