Since there is no charge or current in vacuum, why do electromagnetic waves exist in a vacuum?
What is generating these electromagnetic waves?

inb4 some moron spouts off about "fields"
>>
>>9145281
There aren't any waves, only photons.
You're asking the wrong questions.

They are found by probability distributions that are nearly the same math of what we use to describe waves, but there is no wave.
>>
>>9145359
Wait so that bullshit they taught us in elementary school about "light being both a wave and a particle" was wrong?

Do anti-depressants and alcohol have any interaction in the brain? I asked my doctor, and they told me that have no interaction, and they effect entirely different parts of the brain. Is this really true? I find it very hard to believe they don't cross paths with each other at all. Every time I drink alcohol I fear I am doing extreme damage to my brain by drinking while also taking antidepressant medication, but my doctor continually tells me it is not a problem. Are they right, or is there a lot more to the story?

Why are you trusting random faggots on the internet rather than a medical professional with years of training? If you're that worried about it, do the research or find another doctor and get a second opinion.
>>
>>9145279
>implying that chemicals affect different parts of the brain
>implying that modern brain medication isn't a blunt weapon that works marginally better than a placebo and has tons of side effects
do you really think alcohol just goes and sits in its own fucking corner of the brain like a kid in timeout while the anti-depressants go and quietly do their jobs in their own little corner? Here's a hint; they don't. When you take medicine, it ends up in your bloodstream, which is then distributed to all of the parts of the brain because, spoiler alert, every part of your brain needs blood.
Jesus fuck, you must be retarded to believe her, and even more retarded to come here and ask us instead of researching yourself. Fuck the hell off.

Why does 2x - 4 ≤ 5x + 8 is x ≥ -4 and not the invert?

I mean, why can't I do this :
2x - 4 ≤ 5x + 8
-12 ≤ 3x
-4 ≥ x
?
5 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>9145262
There's no reason to flip the sign.
>>
>>9145268
So THAT's is the reason? Because if you divide with a negative number, you need to flip it, otherwise if you divide with a positive integer you do not flip it?
>>
>>9145275
Yes, you only flip it when you operate with a negative coefficient.

Let's say that in the future machines become so advanced that human labor isn't needed anymore. Instead humans will just simply manage and program their own personal machines and perform research that is too advanced for AI. The machines will just take the place of their owner as an employee and get paid as such.

People will finally get more free time and civilization will advance rapidly. Why isn't this our top priority?

Hey /sci/ so it looks like the tinfoil hat crowd are back out in full effect now. Since their planet didn't come in 2012, they've been moving it to different years ever since. Now it's September 23, 2017 or October 2017. So what are their claims?

1.) the Sun Set is going over 300 degrees northwest.

I don't have to explain why this one is bullshit.

2.) Strange Orbs discovered in the sky

Again, nothing new.

3.) Rise in Tsunamis, Hurricanes, Tornadoes and other natural disasters.

Meh, they have a point there.

4.) Global Warming is not caused by humans but by this planet.

Global Warming is a myth.

5.) There is a huge bulge at the equator.

Gravity.

So what's your thoughts on this, /sci/?

The problem is i have 4 forces (200,150,100,50) so i need each force to be in a quadrant and to be in balance,

intresting problem, what have you done?
>>
>>9144929
Can you state the original full problem? You're not giving us much to go of off.
>>
It has a circular table with four moving movements and a free ring in the
center, of negligible mass, similar to that shown in Figure 1.
Each dumbbell has a mass of 50, 100, 150 and 200 grams.
The objective is to locate the 4 weights distributed at different angles one in each
quadrant of the plane, so that the ring is fully centered.

I believe that people with higher IQ can potentially solve all tasks that people with lower IQ can solve but also more difficult tasks that people with lower IQ can't solve. Do you agree?
10 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>9144669
IQ is basically a measure of the capacity for abstract problem solving. At least in that sense, the more sophisticated techniques required to solve a problem, the more IQ helps--to the point where under a certain IQ, finding a solution may be very unlikely.

IQ however has nothing to do with more fuzzy problems, such as interpersonal problems any range of things that are more experiential than academic.
