The other species of Hominidae are able to communicate with us and of course with others of their species (perhaps even other Hominidae species).
They are able to learn human sign language and are able to understand spoken human language.
They show signs of complex thought, self-awareness and basic emotions.
They use tools and are fully capable of learning fairly complex tasks.
They're clearly almost as sentient as us, why aren't we doing more to protect them and giving them 'hominid rights'?
>Chimpanzees and gorillas are shown to be nearer to human-like intellect than other great apes.
>>8834969
They do have rights. However, them being unable to comprehend rights, they don't get as much as humans.
>>8834969
...chimps aren't great apes.
>>8834981
You might be able to teach Koko, or another great ape who has been educated in higher level communication since a young age, the concept of some rights.
Do I still have time to cram for 2 exams I have tomorrow (in 15hours exactly) or should I not go and pretend I was sick?
Exams are pure theory learning/memorization:
> 1 exam in plant physiology
For which I basically have 2 big chapters left to learn: 1 in plant nutrition, 1 in plant growth
> 1 multiple choice test in Geographic information systems theory
Which covers the material for the whole semester but I'm already somewhat familiar with it, just have to review it again
What do you think? Is it feasable?
>>8834817
>or should I not go and pretend I was sick?
obviously this
>>8834817
Faking being sick in college doesn't work, just cram
>>8834817
you should not go and pretend you were sick
cramming is bad for your, always value your health over your grades
>hey guys lets make the youngest and brightest occupied producing useless papers, until they're 30, burned out and can't do any harm to the status quo. plus we can put them in debt slavery
>good idea, shlomo, hail thoth!
i sorta had an idea for a thread
Most STEMlords are highly specialized autists without knowledge of politics. I don't think anyone cares about them.
>>8834113
>until they're 30
>burned out
lol, spoken like a true teenager. as a male, your 30's is prime time.
>plus we can put them in debt slavery
too much of a brainlet to get a scholarship i see. the brightest students don't pay for school.
>>8834113

lmao
why do people even study math , we have calculators these days xdd
>>8833864
Don't you have something better to do with your life?
>implying arithmetic is math
kek brainlet
>>8833864

??????
This is true for LITERALLY any field of study, although math is the least affected.
Psychologists (or any other meme-major) will be long replaced by machines before any mathematician has to fear for his job.

there is plenty of scientific evidence for this because social science is a science.
>>8833285
Social science is the science.
Scientifically, which side is more useful and efficient?
The side you are most comfortable with in your day to day life.

From where the user is normally situated, position B. However, if this roll is hanging at some elevation above the user's eyes, position A would be more optimal.
I have a degree in toilet paper, because shitty community colleges offer little bullshit degrees like that.

pic related came straight from my soc 101 textbook. I'm taking it because I have to, not because I want to.
Useful to what? If you trace "usefulness" down to its root, it becomes apparent that only physicists are truly useful.

I realize this site is pretty retarded, so I'm not expecting much, but I'm asking anyway.
For those unfamiliar with the concept of an Outside Context Problem:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OutsideContextProblem?from=Main.OutsideContextVillain
While an OCP is generally considered outside of human ability to affect, there ARE things humans can do to precipitate it, such as accidentally catching the attention of extra-terrestrials or performing a dangerous physics experiment.
I'm looking for an Outside Context Solution - which I would define as a solution to an existential problem that humans have little control over, which seems tantamount to divine intervention, basically. But I'm wondering what sort of actions could be taken in order to achieve an Outside Context Solution?
This subject a bit too advanced for 4chan?
>>8830454
It's no advanced it's just somewhat obscure. And what you mentioned as your first example isn't an outside context problem, which shows that calling anyone here retarded for not knowing about this subject is pretty rich, coming from you.
Not only that, but the very idea behind this thread is retarded. It's an outside context problem. Generally that means we can't do shit about it, short of the few we could trigger ourselves.
>>8832890
>And what you mentioned as your first example isn't an outside context problem
>Implying first contact won't be last contact with 100% certainty
>Generally that means we can't do shit about it
Did you even read what I wrote?
>short of the few we could trigger ourselves
Exactly. I'm looking for ideas of the triggers for the inverse.
