like what difference is there between a brain with autism and a normal brain?
we're constantly told what the symptoms are of autism but it's never explained how the brain is actually different from a neurotypical.
Is the social area of the brain smaller/deformed? is it just one area or the whole brain that is affected? I want to understand this better.
>>9155794
The autistic brain is slightly bigger because it didn't trim useless neurons when growing up. Those extra neurons are responsible for the ultra sensibility that autists are known for.
I'm diagnosed as autistic and, given my general social behavior, it's clearly deserved. But I don't get these threads. Do you really think your mind operates so differently from a neurotypical's that it deserves analysis? The only thing I find that's really different between myself and non-autists is that I'm blessed with retard-level social skills.

They don't know, which is why it's based on a spectrum, rather than having separate but similar diagnoses for various physical abnormalities in the brain.
How long does it take to become good enough in chemistry to make homemade meth and such stuff?
I doubt most meth cooks have actually studied chemistry lol
At least 10 years. Krokodil cooks in Siberia were all professionals in their field for at least 5 years and had doctorate degrees.
>>9155793
Some people would say the time it takes to learn sophomore-year organic chemistry, but imo the answer is zero.
If you really care about the mechanism by which you're adding a methyl group, as well as the chemical information by which the mechanism is determined, go ahead and read an O-Chem textbook. I think you'll find the knowledge you've gained will not help at all, and maybe those dealers were onto something when they decided to make meth in a garage instead of a real lab.
There are guides online. Go to Erowid. It's not illegal to memorize the steps. I even printed some out just to look at them. Neat stuff.
Space travel was once a privilege of the brightest and most skilled scientists and engineers, who would work to further humanity's knowledge of the universe
Now, with all of these private space travel agencies popping up, all we're going to see in space now are stupid MTV bimbos, cowboy billionaires, trust fund shits and their ilk only go to space to take selfies so they can post it to instagram while wondering if Neil Armstrong landed on Jupiter
Also, just imagine, once someone lands on mars, its going to be nothing but MTV bimbos and shit on Mars and they probably think that they landed on Saturn or some shit like that
feels bad man
>>9155776
ahhhgh some of my post is awkwardly written
I guess I shouldn't stay up so late when writing shit like this
>>9155776
yeah. but getting in bimbos and billionaires is an inevitable step in it's transition to normie availability
What's the difference in your brain one second before you die and one second after you die?
A bullet
>>9155769
1s before death = -1
Death = 0 (1) because information cannot be destroyed
1s A.D. (after death) = +1 second later in another universe where you did not die.
>>9155769
at the point where blood stops moving, oxygen starvation of brain cells, cascade failure has occurred, electrical activity has ceased.
Just like when before you were born and became a conscious entity, you at this point cease to exist.
Conscious is merely language your physical body learned to awaken. You ARE your physical body.
Mystical concepts such as "god", "soul" are mystical.
Enjoy your life, son. You only get one.

Is this possible?
>>9155719
No, for several reasons among which is the fact that simulation isn't duplication.
>>9155727
I'll expand on that since nobody is interacting.
The scenario depicts a simulated universe where simulated consciousness exist and is apparently the same as normal consciousness.
That presumes a functionalist view of the brain (or something similar to that in the relevant parts) which states that the mind is just a bunch of processes that happen in the brain and that's it. The same processes could be happening in computers and you'd still have a mind, they say.
The problem with that is this.
Imagine having a liter of water. You can throw it, drink it, you can use it to water your plants and so on. Now imagine having a computer that simulates water down to the tiniest subatomic particle. A perfect simulation, if you will. Can you drink that simulation? Can you use it to water your plants? Of course not, because by simulating a liter of water you haven't actually created another one.
And this is the same for every single thing you can think about that we don't know already to be software. In fact, it's the same for perfectly simulated organs: a simulated heart or pancreas can't save someone who doesn't have a real one. But apparently a simulated brain is just the same as a real one when it comes to what it does.
>>9155747
Could a simulated organism not drink a simulated glass of water?
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/sep/07/new-artificial-intelligence-can-tell-whether-youre-gay-or-straight-from-a-photograph
>The research found that gay men and women tended to have “gender-atypical” features, expressions and “grooming styles”, essentially meaning gay men appeared more feminine and vice versa. The data also identified certain trends, including that gay men had narrower jaws, longer noses and larger foreheads than straight men, and that gay women had larger jaws and smaller foreheads compared to straight women.
>The paper suggested that the findings provide “strong support” for the theory that sexual orientation stems from exposure to certain hormones before birth, meaning people are born gay and being queer is not a choice. The machine’s lower success rate for women also could support the notion that female sexual orientation is more fluid.
The water loaded with plastics is turning kids gay.
/sci/ absolutely on suicide watch.
/pol/ was right again.
>In the Stanford study, the authors also noted that artificial intelligence could be used to explore links between facial features and a range of other phenomena, such as political views, psychological conditions or personality.
Majority of all politicians will be identified by AI to be psychopaths.
This is a load of crap. Your face changes throughout your life, but your soul does not.
>>9155635
>make an AI look for gay stereotypes
>test it by showing it the gay stereotypes that you programmed it to look for
>"It works, give us money"
Physiognomy is real.
Are you really going to make pretend there isn't a "gay look"?

yo just stumbled upon this weird mushroom like cloud, can someone tell me what it is?
>>9155456
That's a very nice cloud
Weather balloon, obviously
>>9155456
That's two clouds.
The front is a low altitude, dense, cloud. I dunno the names of them but it is one that is blocking a lot more light than the second cloud that is a high altitude cloud that is in front of the sun.
Basically they're just clouds.
Is there any way that we can stop or control the overpopulation? It's for a school research
>>9155354
There isn't overpopulation, and there never will be. This is misinformation. The rate at which the population is increasing is slowing. Not to mention, one of the things that signifies how advanced a country is happens to be the birthrate because more advanced countries always, without fail, have lower birthrates.
Many European countries have populations dying faster than new people are being born. There is no overpopulation.
>>9155356
>There isn't overpopulation
>>9155383
It is slowing global pop will top at 10 billion at most
Geographically, what are the most climate change resistant cities? Ones that will become more desirable and perfect to live in in the coming decades. I assume far from coasts but near waterways, maybe Minnesota?
None, you can't really escape famine in modern life bulit around farming infrastructure and mass distribution rather than localized growing. But mini soda and montana would problably be pretty rad. I myself plan on going to northern maine, but thats just because its close by
>>9155306
Places that are fairly mountainous will change the least. Places that are currently desert will benefit from climate change, provided they're no too low-lying that they end up underwater.
>>9155328
>Places that are currently desert will benefit from climate change,
What makes you say that? Most predictions I've seen are for desert climates to become even more severe.
What is the scientific reasoning for the recent fascination with traps that many people seem to have? I am by no means gay (not interested in masculine characteristics) and am not even otherwise a sexual freak, but something about traps just gets me hard as diamonds. It activates some primal instinct within me for destruction. I don't know what it is. I can't explain it. I just want to destroy them
>>9155213
The penis is aesthic and arousing even to men, and some traps are very feminine but have that exotic feeling to them too.

Is it possible to create AI so it can invest money in stock exchange and other types of investment?
Yes, great thinking, you could make a profit out of that idea...... if it was the 80s.
They have already been doing that for decades already.
Yes until the market crashes and the ai didn't account for that
