When the molecules are moving quickly, they can't interact with each other as strongly. Adding heat is a good way to increase molecular speed. Molecules attracting each other, often by hydrogen bonding, is what causes a lot of tension and viscosity.
>Dirac said “I was taught at school never to start a sentence without knowing the end of it.” This ex-plains a lot. Dirac’s famously taciturn and precise nature spawned many “Dirac stories”. Dirac once fell asleep during someone else’s lecture, but woke during a moment when the speaker was getting stuck in a mathematical derivation, muttering: “Here is a minus sign where there should be a plus. I seem to have dropped a minus sign somewhere.” Dirac opened one eye and interjected: “Or an odd number of them.” One further example concerns a conference lecture he himself gave, following which a questioner indicated that he had not followed a particular part of Dirac’s argument. A long silence ensued, broken finally by the chairman asking if Professor Dirac would deal with the question. Dirac responded, “It was a statement, not a question.”
What the fuck was his problem?
Autism
That was a quick thread
Why is so many people from iformatics field also a pilots?
What did he mean by this?

opps
i mean hobbies

actually i dont mean all informatics guys i mean the top shelf ones... like Ken Thompson
or my friend who was also mathematical genius

> Explain neighborhood
> Show the 3 states of the CA
> Water
> Surface
> Empty space
> Show the rules of the CA in algebraic form
> Show the rules with cute pics, because brainlets are watching.
> Teacher stops looking at her phone and starts paying attention
> Show the program running the CA.
> Cute pics demonstrating the rules had the empty cells with white color, and the surface with black color
> Program running the CA shows the empty cells with black color and the surface cells with white color
> Teacher is confused as f because of the colors of the cells vs. the colors of the rules
> Teacher goes in brainlet mode and says that the program is disrespecting the established rules, because of the fucking colors

> I try to explain again
> Teacher interrupts me going in full autistic mode yelling that I should stop using irony, starts by saying that I should measure my words because I still depend on the teachers, says that I'm an arrogant fat fuck

What should I do /sci?
nice blog post

This.
Tutors/Teachers/Profs of /sci/ why do we make brainlets take math? I hear the same fucking memes over and over
>When am I going to use this
>Who is You-ler?
>You study math anon so what's 800 * 103984?
>insert meme here
I'm fucking done with these people.
>>8953803
Because we're living in and moving even further towards a society that needs gigantic amounts of technical workers. Funnelling only intelligent, intrinsically interested people into science no longer fills the demand.
Unless you want your country to become a pajeet colony just to keep functioning you have to accept teaching science to some average intelligences who might not even enjoy it.
>>8953803
Math is a universal code deeper than our own genome. It assisted medieval period rules assign debts, landed us on the moon and rules our economy on as simple a basis as receiving correct change from the till. If you learn math you can view the world with an advanced perspective to those who choose to ignore it.
>>8953803
High school math teacher here.
Main reason: I'm paid to teach it to you, so you can get a meme degree or become an engineer and enter into a meme profession.
Other than that... in ausfagland, you study math because it is on the curriculum which is determined by figureheads in government positions from the first day you start school until the end of year 10.
Most students are shit at maths for the following reasons:
>Shit primary school teachers don't like math so never studied calculus themselves and dislike teaching maths.
>Students finish primary school and enter middle school to only receive math lessons from science teachers. If they are lucky, they will recieve lessons from maths teachers.
>students finally enter high school, hating maths from 10 years of shitty teaching. high school teachers struggle to teach them.
>10 years later
>You study math anon so what's 800 * 103984?
Black holes are actually black crusts of 0 thickness. They’re hollow. Time stops at the event horizon, so every particle never makes it beyond that point. On the outside though, the acceleration toward the black hole approaches infinite. Therefore, 0 thickness crust.
Would capitalism be finished if scientists found a way to tap into Vacuum energy?
Yes just as marx and my sociol Sciences professor predicted.

Worst. Energy density. Ever.

Does Chronic fatigue syndrome even exist?
Its been talked about constantly for the past month on the local radio station (of cource with lots of ads for herbal suplimints that can fix it) and now everyone in my family think the have it (except my dad, who calls it 'Laziness syndrome'). Everyone keeps asking me about and how 'modern scince and doctors don't know how to treat it' it so I looked it up and the symptoms are even more vague than ADHDs. I mean look at this shit
>impaired memory or concentration
>exertions bring on extreme exhaustion and sickness
>unrefreshing sleep
>muscle pain
>pain in joints
>headaches
>sore throat
>tender lymph nodes
>brain fog
>dizziness, balance problems or fainting
>allergies or sensitivities to foods, odors, chemicals, medications, or noise
>bloating, stomach pain, constipation, diarrhoea and nausea
>chills and night sweats
>sensitivity to light, blurring, eye pain
>depression or mood problems
And look at the treatments
>Cognitive behavioral therapy
>exercising
>pacing to avoid over-exertion
>well-balanced diet
Isnt this just having a shit lifestyle, then fixing it? This seems to be the next cool disability to blame for having a shit life now that everyone has ADHD, gluten intolerance and autism.
Chronic fatigue is just the same as amphetamine deficiency
i have fibromyalgia and eating cucumbers (unironically) relived it to the point where its barely noticeable
>>8953691
well joints dont get painful for no reason
Can somone [[(('"redpill"'))]] me on why biologyI seen as such a fucking Chad science but aside from the fact that its dominated by women I don't see that much of a problem with it.
of course biology is a science, don't take 4chan memes so super serious

Basically we caught alien transmission and we shrugged it off.
It seems to me like consciousness is just a background process of the brain. When the brain is working really hard in a stressful situation, maybe exercising or running away from a predator, there's not really an intelligent higher level consciousness that's actively thinking about math and stuff. Only when you're sitting and relaxed can you do that and really think. You get caught up in daily cycles doing repetitive tasks and only when you sit and stop and break from this, and your brain is no longer being utilized, are you more conscious
What if consciousness is just wasted idle CPU cycles in our brain. An emergent property of our decision-making process that isn't actually important to it
what if you just made a bunch of shit up because the perceived external environment is completely subjective, causing one to come to thus random conclusion that consciousness is able to be defined by a 4chan thread
>>8953524
It's not a 4chan thread, it's a claim written in a language whose truth value can be assessed
>>8953521
i like ur idea anon and i agree with it. there is a level of abstraction neanderthals developed as part of their evolution that eventually evolved into a complex system of words, quantities, ideas, and eventually a perception of self.
Guys what are the accumulation points of the rationals? Of the real set?
Thx
>>8953516
what is your definition of accumulation point?
>>8953526
let E be a subset of X, and a a point belonging to X
a is an accumulation point of E if every ball centered around a and of radius r > 0 contains a second point b != a such that b belongs to E
sorry if its awkward I'm translating from french
>>8953531
and X is a metric space

MathHistory: A course in the History of Mathematics ? should i just let go of it and focus on my own studies?
>>8953488
It's meh. You're better off studying by yourself- no hidden agenda, you make your own opinion.
do whatever makes it so that you last as long as you can and may have the chance of experiencing rejuvenation technology and brain upload backups one day; now the conundrum is, do you work on things more in hope to advance humanity and or throw energy at the world and help making that technology possible one day (I'm sure working on anything STEM that you like to do has at least some to do with biotechnology and that stuff, i mean the more science is done the more science occurs), and in the process you lose a lot of sleep risking to lose a few years of life, maybe even dying right before the rejuvenation technology is discovered, or you just wait it out and play it safe, making the bet that since you're not a geneticist anyway, you'll just have to depend on them to bring it to us and make sure you're really safe and healthy so you can live long enough to see it, and amass money so you can afford the treatment when it comes about

Use Calorie Restriction and eat antiinflammatory food. If you start early enough you can probably add 30% to 40% onto your lifespan. A good way to do this is eat only once a day and skip a day of eating once a week.
