The decendent of a holocaust survivor can be traumatized by his ancestors suffering because his genes remember how it was to avoid getting gassed right?
>>8956170
No and no.
1: it was a 1 time event for 1 generation
2: genetic memory/instinct needs to be developed for many generations

It's important to note however, that Jewish persecution complex has been cultivated for millennia.

is it a persecution complex when the persecution is real?
Hi /sci/.
I'm the creator and sole writer of a children's cartoon. This cartoon relies heavily on imagination and creative use of language (wordplay, funny naming, funny analogies, etc). I want to recruit other writers for my cartoon, and I need brilliant people that have a lot of imagination. There are only 2 million people whose mother tongue is this particular language, and we live in kind of a cluster. So I thought about running an ad in the newspaper (who pretty much everyone reads) saying that if you write an episode of the show, you send it in, and I like it, you could become part of the writing team of the show.
The problem is that I don't want to read over a 10,000 episodes or so (which most are going to be trash). So I need a way to winnow the field to about a few hundred. And here is where I need your help.
In this ad I want to run some sort of intelligence question, and IQ question or a math problem. I don't want a problem based on language because I fear I would have the same problem as before. Then I would have them send both the solution to the problem as well as the episode they wrote, thus removing undesirables from submitting an episode.
My question to you is: what question/problem would you run in this ad?
PD: Putnam questions and the sort are out of the question since the answers can easily be found online.
inb4: think about one yourself. I would agree this is the best way, but I don't feel like it because it's hard and because I want the question/problem to be of high quality.

you are way over your head, son
you will be lucky to get 50
fuck you would be lucky to get 10,000 with English

Haha like you know what you're talking about
Americans deny climate change because they cannot handle the concept that things may not be 'alright in the end'.
I know it says this thread is not for homework. This is NOT homework. Just solving for fun.
So, can you please help me with this problem:
We have a,b,c which are Real numbers.
2a+3b+6c=0
ax^2+bx+c=0
I have to proof there is a solution in the interval of [0;1]
The only thing that comes to my mind is
a=0
b=0
c=0
=>0x=0 => then every X is a solution so it is in the said interval. But this is not all. Can you help me?

pick only one
why?

Probably fuck the HS math teacher. Hot math professors are hard to come by.

>Math/Education professor that does research on how to educate math better
This is my life goal but God knows if I will ever reach MSc ;_;
I'd be happy being a CC professor tho.

Ahahahaha Brainlet
I had this zit at the base of my dick earlier in the week from shaving, but now there's this big gross looking scab there and this girl wants to have sex tomorrow. HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP. It looks like I have some kind of STI.
Scientifically, how do I make it look presentable in under 24 hours? Using science.

Ya your dick generally heals pretty fast but something like Vaseline can prob help. Also she is probably already loaded with STIs I wouldn't worry about it.
Anyone else here INTP?

so, I shat bloody diarrhea for a week on three separate occasions last year from this ice cream i ate, and ever since, I have lots of bloating, farting ALL day, sometimes oily pale stools, don't shit for like 3+ days at a time, shitting almost always rips my anus and the shit gets bright bloody spots on it from the tear in my anus and it fucking hurts
What is wrong with me? My bowels are just this big fucking annoyance ever since.

what is Algebraic Geometry and will it usher in an era of math that surpasses Caclulus if someone intelligent like Newton utilizes it for rates of change problems?

I don't know of any applications of alg. geom. to physics outside of quantum gravity. And even then we need more a non-commutative form of algebraic geometry, as opposed to its standard form, to capture the quantum phenomena.
>>8955573
Maybe its like a set of matricies that transform in a geometric manner? When Heisenberg first set the foundation for quantum mechanics didnt he do it in a similar manner? Maybe the key is an extended version of this.
t. guy who doesnt know shit about math
Does the less motion blur that one experiences mean the higher in intelligence they are? Motion blur is the result of the brain not being able to process information that the eye receives fast enough. More motion blur would mean a slower processing speed, which would mean a lower level of intelligence.

>this piece of garbage monkey is still here
I thought I was rid of you
>>8955508
Depends on your definition of intelligence. Speed is important, but not everything. For example, think about how ADHD people have their minds racing at 100mph over trivial shit.
Another thing to be taken into consideration is the hardware you're dealing with. Some people just have shit eyes that don't give accurate information (short/farsightedness isn't the only way your eyes can fuck up after all) and the brain has to put forth more effort to give a correct assessment.

Where can I find a math book that goes into analytical detail about algebra, geometry, trigonometry and calculus. An doesn't just give one or two examples.

Da fuck anon this is a thread for helping me with a intellectual property with out going to college.
So I was browsing through my book and along came a question (pic related) that I do not how to prove. I've tried using the triangle inequality and the Cauchy-Schwartz inequality but it just doesn't unravel itself? Any general tips as to how one should prove these types of inequalities? Thank you in advance.
>>8955455
I'm surprised it's not |x|<=|y| at the end there instead of |x|<1.
>>8955455
Note |Ux|=|x| since U is unitary. Then Cauchy-Schwartz gives
| < Ux,y> | <= |Ux| |y| = |x||y| < |y|, since |x|<1.
Look at this result
Can someone help me with OChem? I need to propose a mechanism for the reactions in pic related, i'm pretty sure it's Sn1 but i get lost at the carbocation rearrangement.

It's sn2
