The solar system is truly marvelous.
How can someone spend so much time on something without realizing it's not funny in the least?
>>8962806
People are truely marvelous

I laughed at the wolf joke desu
Why did these things never work?
>>8962743
Because you touch yourself at night
>>8962743
Because it's just a prank bro
I remember an episode of some show, I think it was Goosebumps, where a kid actually got x-ray vision but it gave him a fucking brain tumor lmao
Quantum mechanics thread.
Dump all you QFT stuff here.

The perimeter institute has 2 full courses in QFT (lectures, tutorials, and hw) available for free.
Does anyone have new info on Nibiru's location or predicted orbit?
>>8962575
I don't have the location but if you're trying to compute the location then disregard NASAs ephemeris (HORIZONS). They tamper with the data to obfuscate the position of Nibiru and possible other bodies.

Yeah good luck with that one. I can allready hear the tinfoil crackle
>tfw you realize the triangle inequality implies the pythagorean theorem because the hypotenuse of the triangle is maximized when the other two sides form an angle of 90 degrees
>>8962509
>the triangle inequality implies the pythagorean theorem
no it doesnt
>>8962509
But what about when the other two sides form an obtuse angle. The the hypotenuse would be longer. Thus the right angle doesn't "maximize" shit
>>8962558
< This.
What does this mean?

NASA desperate for funding
Space junk?
Can someone recommend literature on the subject with examples ?
Or just examples in general with the subject in question.
should math teachers be allowed to look like this?
my math teacher looked like a cross between Lily Tomland and the crypt keeper, and she was cool as fuck, but inspired no boners, only maths. So it was, so it should be.
There is a reason a woman who looks like that isn't exactly associated with intelligence anon. Phenotypes and the stereotypes associated with them don't arise from the great random number generator in the sky.
>>8962459
Just thinking about taking a class given by her feels bad. I will literally stare at her boobs the entire hour.
It's beyond unprofessional, so no.
>LOL I'M SO HARD XXX
fucking 12 year olds
>tfw 158Q/156V on practice gre
taking the real one in 3 months, do i even bother?
Why do you even need to take the GRE? None of my friends in grad programs did one, and the faculties I'm in don't give a shit about GRE whatsoever.
t. Canadian
>>8962445
Isnt it out of 170? Thats not too bad anon all schools look for nowadays is that you do average or better pretty much
>>8962445
why are you taking the practice test before studying
there are literally only downsides from this
Will reading about psychology helps me being better at telling jokes, being charismatic, being popular, being popular with girls and so on?
Yes, in general being more well-rounded will give you a better chance at being popular with other people, especially in something as fundamental as psychology
Why this happen?
Why does Imperial get so much gibs for STEM?
Also General STEM university discussion thread.
>brainlets and high school dropouts fucking LEAVE
>>8962291
Because it's an exclusively STEM university focused on applied research? Why would that surprise you.
Holy shit I thought the europoor thing was a meme
Is this recurrence relation right? found it on some notes but i cant seem to prove or find something similar. btw [math]P_{l}^{m}[\math] is the associated Legendre function of degree l and order m.

Probably follows easily from 8.14.13 if at all.
Does anyone here know the game "set"?
Today it occured to me that you can represent each card in the game with a 4 dimensional vector space over the field GF(3).
If you do so, you can represent each set as a matrix with rows/columns (depending on your representation) of a constant sum - 0 (mod 3). I.E - in each set, the sum of the vectors is 0.
Also, the coordinates of the 3 vectors must be collinear.
Just thought I'd share this nice insight with you. If anyone has some more mathematical insights about the game, feel free to write them down.
The geometric representation of SET has been studied earlier. See http://homepage.tudelft.nl/64a8q/set-machazine.pdf, for example.
Have you got any good recommendations for physics books in the fields of electromagnetism, quantum mechanics and geophysics ranging from beginner to advanced?
I know they are very different and it probably sounds stupid but i love the theory aspect of science.
