So /sci/, when will you accept that Biology is not and never will be a real science?
>>7800823
What will you do when through biology we prove quantum entanglement, God, evolution, and the 12th dimension?
>>7800823
When you prove that Medicine is not a real field.

when you stop taking it up the ass
The year is 2084. Most countries still exist in their current form, with a broad reshuffling in the Middle East, Africa, and parts of South America. There are many more countries that have active and well-funded space programs, each concentrating on a specific aspect of space exploration and technology.
As an program architect in the United Nations Office for Outer Space, you are part of the team that is constructing the world's first global space program. This agency will draw upon the strengths of each country to assemble a system that will unite all of Earth's people unto a common mission.
As UNSC architects, it's your duty to assign a role to each country. Possible roles include launch authority, power system, AEVA (augmented extravehicular activity) technologies), space living, science curators, navigation, etc. Choose wisely, for the survival of the human race depends on the assignments that will best profit off of nation's capabilities and specialties.

I refuse to be a globalist Jew. The impotent farce that is the UN will be dissolved soon anyway.
America builds the rockets and most of the mission architecture. Europe will be in charge of research and planning.
>>7800767
>human race depends on the assignments
Really? In that case you certainly do not want "assistance" from a huge number of nations. Middle East will be reshuffled, yes, by nuclear carpet bombing. Terrorists will be everywhere. You have to be more selective about who you want to bring in to the space arc you are constructing.
What are you thoughts on the possible 4th dimension, that is if you believe in it then what do you think it could be?
prove the 3 dimensions first shitbird

A 4th dimension is just one more axis perpendicular to the other axes. X, Y, Z, W.

/sci/, I'm a little scared right now, though not in pain. The feeling seems to be subsiding.
I had just taken a bite out of some candy bar I never tried before. it might not be related, but now my neck and jaw area feels and sounds as if filled with crushed glass. It's not painful, just the soun and perhaps a slight stiffness.
I'm typing this standing up and the feeling has gone away. What the fag just happened? Allergic reaction?

Trust me I have a PhD in triple integrals
There's a weird issue me and my friend would like to know the answer of. How fast, and how long would your eye lashes need to be, to actually start flying with them. Let's assume the world operates in super slow motion and you're in usual time to compensate. How fast would you need to blink with your eye lashes (let's call them Eye Bashes Per Second (EBPS)) to start flying? How long do your lashes need to be to create viable flight with the EBPS in question?
This sounds like a troll and we know it's impossible, but humor us with theoreticals.
Maleanon here.
I have long eyelashes and these are the MOST ANNOYING GODDAMN FUCKING SHITS in the world.

Is science and physics becoming lazier?
It seems that way anymore, with concepts like dark matter/dark energy and string theory.
They just seem like attempts at plugging holes in formulas because scientists don't have answers yet. So, they act like these theories are true, and books are written about these ideas as if they're facts and journals treat these ideas as if they're real.
I noticed this with the planet 9 hypothesis in the news. Everyone is acting like there is a ninth planet out there, but it just seems like they were too lazy to explain crap they don't have an answer for. It may also be that they just want to seem relevant so they concoct some crap to get their names in the news.
these plugging holes, are how the real patches get started on
you are right, we dont know what the fuck we are doing, our models are not strong enough
feel free to do better. oh wait, you cant even plug holes because youre retarded armchair scientist undergrad
>>7801843
>our models are not strong enough
You mean our computation power is not strong enough. The sheer complexity of "real life" models makes numerical computation ridiculously time consuming and difficult, so we HAVE to stick with simple models for the time being.
>>7801876
I think op is talking about models made from little /poor data.
No one says that the 9th planet (if thats what it is) is figured out . and any actual scientist will tell you that our current knowledge of anything past the moon that we havmt physically probed and studied is rough oversimplification s at best .
I mean we live on a planet that we know next to nothing (relatively) about.
Its not lazyness people just make hypotheses and try to explain shit .
Creativity is a byproduct of intelligence or is a complete different thing?
>>7801829
>define creativity
>define intelligence
>compare
>>7801829
it's a byproduct of intelligence and a complete different thing, those are not exclusive.
If you are creative, you are intelligent enough to see links where others can't really at first.
But if you're only "textbook" intelligent (forgive me for this expression), maybe you are limited by what you learned by thinking it's the ultimate truth and limitation. You know, the "if it's not already been done then it's stupid" kind of mentality, or the inability to step back see the big picture.
Creativity and intelligence are intrinsically related. Neither are byproducts.

Question: If there were any science experiments you could partake in be it past/present which would you have done?
Bonus: What molecular structure would it take to make a metal such as Marvels: "Adamantium"
I'd love to do some particle or quantum physics experiments. (Too bad that I do chemistry for life, not my field hehe)
>Bonus: What molecular structure would it take to make a metal such as Marvels: "Adamantium"
Uhhhh.... metallic, I'd assume.
I think the picture is wrong. Shouldn't it be rotated CCW?
Does anyone know about studies of frontal lobe activity after eating various flavors. Or how your reaction time differs after eating certain flavors. I am doing my project on this right now.

Every single human is different yet different reactions, wouldn't know your answer.

I have wondered for many years now, will oatmeal digest properly even if i do not chew it much at all? Will i get the same benefits if i just swallow the stuff?
I'm talking normal quick oats with hot water added. Not steel cut or any other kind of oats. Pic unrelated.

looks like S is any possible events.

I don't read that book but I know immediately that by S, in this case, he meant [math]\Omega[/math].
[math]P(\Omega) = 1[/math].
Stop being such an ass. If you don't like it, you can just switch to another book. Is it too much to do?
Should start a poly-phasic sleep schedule? Will my life improve? Or will I slowly kill myself?
>>7801232
MEMES! MEMES! ALL TYPES OF MEMES! EVERYONE MUST BELIEVE AT LEAST ONE MEME!
>>7801232
Every study I've seen done on polyphasic sleep cycles showed negative results. Most of the claims about famous people who used them are false/have little supporting evidence.
I'm sure you could get by but sleep is incredibly important and you're better off getting as much as possible
It's too risky. Your body literally cleans toxins produced by the brain as it thinks. These toxins can cause permanent damage if left out too long. Brain cells are cannibalistic. Don't do it or you'll change for the worse.
If an AI in an autonomous droid/warbot is to make "good" decisions in a warzone, for example who's a civilian and who's not, what targets take priority over others, who/what is worth saving/rescuing, and so on, what would be the best way to teach it to make these decisions?
A self-adapting Deep Dream style system that can recognise "innocents" vs. "combatants" by their characteristics? But then what informs that?
I think it's something the world is going to experience in the next few decades, but I don't know enough about AI training. Does /sci/ know any good books or websites that deal with this issue in a non-fictional kind of way?
>>7801225
>what would be the best way to teach it to make these decisions?
we dunno lol
>>A self-adapting Deep Dream style system that can recognise "innocents" vs. "combatants" by their characteristics?
what the fuck is that, deep dreaming is a method for making what happens inside a neural net understandable to humans.
I don't know who to turn to/ask. A loved one is a borderline type II diabetic (diet controlled). I've been away from this person for a few years and recently moved back. In these two months, there's been two instances that lasted for around 72 hours each time.
During this time this person was very agitated, unable to be still for any significant amount of time, was sweating even though the temperature was pretty low, fine motor control was shot, was strangely increasedly accommodating (would frequently ask if I needed anything/wanted anything/temperature was ok), and sleep schedule became shot. Would fall asleep sitting at the computer then when I asked why they didn't go to bed, would claim that they were perfectly awake then within minutes fall back asleep. Behavior was akin to someone being drunk without the slurring of speech, but a similar scatterbrianedness.
...is this hypoglycemia or is it drugs? How do I tell? I'm afraid it's the drug side because I can't see someone being that severely hypoglycemic for that long (I'm under the impression that symptoms go away rather quickly when they get back proper sugar levels)...I know that there's been one time when this person's sugar got bad enough that they couldn't see/couldn't remember being taken to the hospital (this was when the beetus was Dx'd)...I'm fucking scared.
She's cheating on you.
