I'm a ME student currently learning statics. It's hard as fuck.
Any tips?

EE here
Isn't statics first year shit?
still difficult, same with dynamics

How about going to your professor's office hours, reading the textbook, and putting more work into parts you don't understand?
Or did you want a magical solution from a counterfeit anime picture board? Perhaps something that doesn't require you to change any aspect of your life?
Why didn't you choose a career in medicine?

I did. That's why I'm killing myself on first of april.

Questions that don't deserve their own thread.
>maths lecturer teaches things in a completely nonsensical order, he'll just start poorly explaining a complicated algebraic transformation and then half an hour later he'll give it context and we're expected to remember it
>I have no idea what pic related is on about, except that I know how to do RREF only because I looked it up
Are you taking college algebra or something? Otherwise how do you not know what all of that shit means already.
>>7952654
It's a 100-level Algebra course.

What topic of CompSci (especially theoretical CompSci) is ridiculously hard to understand?
>inb4 undergrad topics that crush plebs (pointers, off-by-one errors, etc.)
I'm talking about something notoriously hard. Not beginner problems.

Show me one UNDENIABLE piece of evidence that climate change is caused by man and man alone.
No p-value or hypothesis testing bullshit.
>>7952497
>this big of a bait
There isn't, move on.
>>7952497
Before man there was no climate, there only was the daily weather. So climate is 100% man-made and some in their misguided hubris even claim they can change it.
Where does science get all its funding? I really don't get it.
A lot of these scientists just prance around Antarctica looking at ice or sleeping in a hut in the Amazon.
But where does the money come from? It doesn't seem like it serves any function.
>>7952425
No, this is a serious question. I'm taking an environmental science course and I really don't get the concept of science.
>rejecting a null hypothesis
So everything is wrong, even when it is right where still going to try to prove that it is wrong?
And every scientist in the text book doesn't seem to be working for a company or the government. They're just like looking at random geological shit to try to "understand" the earth.
What purpose does it serve?
>>7952419
They may be privately funded by some rich dude or company or maybe they're funded by government grants if they show they'll get something worthwhile out of it.
Any evolutionary disadvatages to a male fucking absolutely everything that moves in his path?
Females have to be careful, because they can carry only one baby at a time in period of a few years, so they need the best seed they can find, but males... the more they fuck the higher chances to have surviving descendants right?
nice bitch. would fuck. the milf looks hot too.
no. that's how it worked for 10000000 years.
Okay so I was bored and thinking about some equations stuff, wrote it out on some sheet et I found something buggling my mind, i solved this :
[math]e^{x}+x=0[/math]
And found this solution that is some infinitely exponentiated repetition of some sort...
How do you call that ?
Do you even have something to calculate it without going through all the exponentiations ?

So a friend just emptied his motorcycle gas tank and stored the gas in a protein powder bucket half an hour ago, with the purpose of having new gas in the tank.
I reckon, since the bucket is intended for storing food, the gas will dissolve the plastic?
Can he use this gas for his car or is it too late now?
I don't have information about the plastic readily available atm.
>asked in /o/ and told I should ask here
>>7951813
>gas will dissolve the plastic
Why would you think this would happen?
>>7951950
Because the plastic used for gas tanks isn't the same as the plastic used for food compartments?
Title pretty much says it all. i completed a ton of menial tasks, some important and other's that i'd never even consider doing when unaugmented. i haven't encountered any side effects that i would consider an immediate risk to my health.
i also wrote a huge modafinil fueled list of my numerous accomplishments, which was lost along with the rest of my post when i didn't realize that my subject had exceeded the character limit. This happened twice to two independently written post bodies. That may be an indicator that I'm reaching the practical limits of staying up with high doses of modafinil. my last two pills haven't onset yet, so we'll see. anyway, i'll put the list in greentext in a post below.
ask away if you have any interest in this topic!
please keep in mind that i am not a scientist. my understanding of medicine comes from my patient experience in psychiatric treatment.
and i welcome informed criticism of taking what is, let's be honest, an intentional overdose of a controlled substance, but please don't drive by and call me an idiot. I know I'm an idiot.
accomplishments
> organized, swept, dusted and vacuumed my entire apartment, which was pretty dirty when i started
> wet vacuumed my car
> started and finished codecademy javascript and ruby on rails courses.
> began configuring my fresh install of debian on my laptop and repopulating my applications
> took a bath yesterday morning, began masturbating in the bath, and continued to masturbate in short spurts until i finally focused solely on masturbating and was able to climax at around 5 in the morning. my dick has actual scabs and abrasions from the intensity of my faps. they are fucking painful.
> played the piano for three hours and can't remember a bit of what i played.
> made a couple financial and medical related phone calls that i'd been putting off or hanging up halfway through the hold period.
> detail stripped four semiauto pistols, a revolver, two gas airsoft guns and a bolt action rifle. individually cleaned and lubed each part and reassembled the guns.
> handloaded 500 rounds of various caliber to bring to the shooting range next time i go. i am ABSOLUTELY not going to handle a loaded gun until i get proper sleep as a matter of principle, but i'm confident that in my current state i could operate a gun as safely as i do when unaugmented.
> went to the gym an hour each day as usual, light cardio and rowing machine
> brushed my filthy dog
I feel like I'm lacking the motivation to do anything for uni work, do you think this would help and also help with counter strike?
Also, where to get in the UK?
>>7951686
modafinilcat dot com ships worldwide from india and source from two manufacturers who they've found to be competent and reliable. from the look of the pills and packaging, they're using the same manufacturing processes as any other industrialized pharma company so don't worry about the reputation of indian meds as being full of contaminants.
motivation? it's not going to improve that. once you start the work though, a normal therapeutic dose is going to, like, continue the momentum. i have a very hard time starting things and modafinil at my regular dosage gets me into the groove of work more quickly than my unaugmented brain does, which reduces opportunities or desires to procrastinate.
haven't played videogames on it, but counterstrike actually seems like the ideal game to use it for. racing games too. anything where if you aren't fast and precise you lose.
hope that helps, and best of luck beating that demotivation. it's still fucks my schedule up at times.
Where does it go?
Can I canoe down it?
>>7951372
Try it, just get someone to film you do it.
>>7951372
its a stabilization release gate for a hydroelectric dam's reservoir. They put these in for dams in areas where precipitation and thus reservoir depth is highly variable. In this way they can avoid the risk of catastrophic spill-over, which could easily destroy the dam.
You could canoe down to the bottom, but it has a large rebar cage to keep trees n shit from going thru. You would get stuck, and the heavy current would likely rip you to pieces eventually.
