I think I get the concept of "hypercube", but I can't completely understand it or mentally visualize it mentally.

Can you?

yes. if you can't, then either you don't understand what 'visualization' means in dimensions greater than 3, or you don't understand the 'concept'.

I always wondered how jet engine work. Maybe that is obviously but I don't understand.
Pressure distribute in all directions with the same force. Why turbine rotate compressor and not otherwise or in another words why it rotates and air flow in one direction whet it press whit the same force in both?

Because engineers did like 500 different engines and then 1 actually worked and they have just spent the last hundred years making it better and better.

How do I learn to sketch graphs?

for example, how would you know that y=sinx/x looked like pic related?
18 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
The main things that characterise graphs are axis intercepts and the turning points.
>>
>>8057375
Well, first you know its probably sinusoidal. Then, think of the graph of 1/x. Try plotting them together.

What is the value of y at x=0?

>Be me back in highschool
>Did not give a shit about math
>Was having sex constantly
>Took the virginities of various girls way younger than me, like a 3 year difference
>Playing videogames up to 3 AM
>A lot of the times went to school without sleep and would sleep in class
>Heard about math olympiads and the asian kids going all autist on the problem sets for the admission 24/7
>topkek
>While those autists gave themselves a schedule to get better at shitty highschool algebra and geometry I learned linear algebra, all of calculus up to double integrals and axiomatized euclidean geometry on my own by simply reading a couple of pages per week.
>because of my 'free' nature of study in comparison to their autistic rigid schedule I not only had time to learn math that was much more complex to come in the paralympics for autists known as math olympiads, but as I said, I also had time to fuck, go to parties and play videogames.

Good times.

>graduate highschool
>get accepted to the best university for mathematics in the country
>half of the class are autists who were perfect highschool students for math while my record was filled with Cs
>we all start at the same pace
>by the end of the first semester I was already the only perfect A student, while most of the autists had Cs in all classes except for calculus
>this trend continues
>Now 3rd semester, half of the people have dropped out

top fucking kek.

Get out of that dick measuring contest and start playing an mmo, go out, and fuck some teen pussy.

I can only feel sad for retards like you. Good luck managing life after nobody cares about your little participation prizes, autist.

What is asthma, and how do inhalers help?
15 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>8056860
As someone who has asthma and have had it forever I can explain.

Whenever I consume something my body does not like then for some reason my breathing holes close from the inside and I start taking in only like 10% of the oxygen I would take originally, making me have to breath in really fast which then tires me out and shit.

Inhalers have a magic dust that make the holes open up again but also have the side effect of increasing blood pressure.
>>
>>8056864

Are mathematicians all retarded, /sci/?
"In mathematics, the associative property ... Within an expression containing two or more occurrences in a row of the same associative operator, the order in which the operations are performed does not matter as long as the sequence of the operands is not changed."

>the order in which the operations are performed does not matter
>the order does not matter
>associative

How the fuck did they "associate", the word "associative" with "order dun matter"? Are they seriously fucking retarded? I'm honestly asking. Can someone explain it? And this is not the only instance where they do this, it's all over the place.
19 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
they could call the property hotdog for all i care
>>>/lit/
>>
Well its just means that (ab)c = a(bc)

As you can guess, it's quite nice property to have
>>
Consider addition. (A+B)+C=A+(B+C) is a statement of associativity. On the left hand side, A and B are associated with each other, where on the right, B and C are associated with each other. At least that has always been my interpretation.

What does Elsevier primarily publish?

I mostly read math and a very small amount of physics and I don't think I've ever even seen a book published by them.

Chasing down nerds on pirate bay is pretty sad practice for a textbook company though.

Technology has not hit its peak, VR just in its infancy, ~20 years ago everything was fucking black and white, in the twilight zone of humanities fate of self destruction or infinite progression.

Just fuck my shit up. What are the FUCKING chances out of ALL the configurations that existed in the universe I had to be born in THIS present time

You're not born in the worst time, though.

You're born in humanity's adolescence. The time is now to take your legacy to the stars. Information previously only acceptable to the sons of noblemen is now available with a simple search inquiry.

Now, anon, is the time the seeds empires spanning star systems are planted. Don't be sad that you aren't a denizen of the distant future. Be glad that you are a pioneer for it.

I doubt we'll be doing anything related to that in our lifetime, our energy efficiency is fucking terrible, just picture this - the fastest speeds we can reach is by dropping bombs and riding shockwaves.
