Very often you see modern portrayals of the Neanderthals as being human-like, although inferior since, as far as we can tell, they never had culture. However, the fact is often overlooked that they had larger brains than we do today. In fact, they were superior to us, and we were the disgusting third world intruders into the land of Neanderthals, and through wave upon wave of migrant modern man into Europe, we out bred Neanderthals into extinction.
But this part I would like to stress. We were not superior to them because of their lack of culture. In fact, it is the opposite! They, Neanderthals, were the true godkings of pure logic! Consequently, they saw the meaninglessness of it all, and instead concerned themselves with purely logical pursuits.
Prove me wrong.
Protip: you can't.

Wow.
I think you're right OP. Neanderthals were probably an order or two smarte than us.
I actually wrote a paper on the topic that Neanderthals were just humans that were highly specialized due to geographic isolation. Neanderthals have the same number of bones as humans, have the structures/genes for language, and have evidence of art, burial rituals, and even a bone flute. Neanderthals aren't superior to humans because their diet wasn't as varied as ours. Due to what many paleontologists have found so far Neanderthals may not have been as versatile as the humans that quickly ended up displacing them over time. It's unknown why the Neanderthal ultimately vanished, but whatever it was it definitely had a strong cro-magnon element.
TL;DR it isn't about intelligence, but adaptability. Also, a larger brain size doesn't always corrolate with intelligence.

Who is the guy in the middle of that picture anyway?
The science of studying.
Why do some people require hours and hours of relentless studying? When I was in school, I knew people who would study a single topic, weeks on end, only to still get bad grades.
I don't want to seem too full of myself here, but I'm not going to lie, I was capable of obtaining top A+ marks by simply reading the book the night before the exam. I guess I was relatively lucky in school, but it made the whole concept seem a little wasted when I realised I could get top marks with *minimal* effort.
So back to what I was saying. Why do some people require such ruthless studying? And why do some lucky individuals such as myself require barely any?

General intelligence. I don't think there's another way to put it. You get things fast, you remember them and you know what the teacher wants.
It works in a similar way at college, but there you need a bit more effort. You have to pay attention at what the lecturer says and study what he tells you to study.
Some people's mind are cloudy and they have hard time figuring out. I'm studying measure theory on my own at the moment. It's just boring.
>>8136797
>It's just boring.
Halmos - Measure Theory. What I mean is that details in theorems are easy to fill out and you need a lot of stamina and motivation to go through hours of tedious work.
How do mathematicians do this? I thought It would be more fun. If things get difficult you need to work on whatever your mind comes out with and it's still boring.
Why is it that in Japan disorders like autism, ADHD, depression, and etc aren't as prominent?
Are they just not as common?
Is it the culture streamlining a similar thought process to those as being normal in society? For example, more western frames of thought and the spectrum of them could be seen as "disorders" too there.
any data? according to wikipedia Japan it's at top 20 in suicide rates. But some things like ADHD may be overdiagnosed (I live in Europe and no one really cares about ADHD in adults)
>>8143855
because ADHD is not a disorder, it's normal.

Pneumonia
Before someone says its TB, the bacteria usually occurs in the apex of the lungs due to the higher v/q ratio of oxygen.
>>8127660
OP here
Good try but no, look carefully at the image
BTW, in pneumonia the parts of the lungs close to the diafragma are blurred and there isn't a clear line that divides the lungs from the diafragma (costodiafragmatic and costomediastinic regions)

I know this is an autistic rant but the fucking implication. That I'd be so stupid as to go 4 years to university for preparation for another 4 years of university.
Fucking hell man.
Regarding my job it really pisses me off that on 4chan the moment you mention software development people are so damn quick to dismiss everything you do as trivial code monkeying like if I was some kind of shitty game dev.
It pisses me off even more when you know the people saying it are sophomore engineering/physics/othershit majors that are just butthurt they failed their programming requirement because they could never wrap their head around the concept of a pointer.

Basically i am currently doing my Abitur(highest school degree in germany) and want to go study something good. I am and was always interested in Physics, so i consider doing it. Well if you look at the equations it looks hard but beginner algebra looked also really hard when you where in primary school, but is actually not really that difficult how you imagined it to be. Anyways i consider studying it outside of Germany i suppose, either an english or german speaking country. Well i also consider biology or chemistry etc.
Oh and also sorry if this doesnt belong here.
If you want to do any subject to a high standard, it will be hard. If you enjoy physics, enough to want to learn it in your own time, then it seems like a safe choice to study physics.
Studier was du willst. Aber halt die Ohren steiff. Es ist nicht genug ein Genie zu sein, junger Mann... du musst hart arbeiten.

How accurate is this list for the smartest people in the world?
It looks like they go by both IQ and accomplishments.
Some notable names:
29. Chris Langan
25. Neil deGrasse Tyson
24. Kim Ung-Yong
17. Garry Kasparov
16. Terrence Tao
9. Magnus Carlsen
4. Grigori Perelman
3. Andrew Wiles
1. Stephen Hawking

im only 20 iq pts behind a man (einstein) who debunked the majority of physics by thinking about trains. And seeing as physics deals with true complexity and other science do not, its even more reasonable for a 140 to be able to trash your kind than it was for a 160 to trash physics ;)
if ur iq was above 140 u wouldnt be as butthurt about the concept of a 140 hyp grad lurking this beta barn..
so the logical conclusion is that ur iq is lower than 140 (possibly much lower)
if you met me in real life you would instantly be blown into a world where all that mattered was getting me to acknowledge your existence and even hopefully be your friend... But i would probably find you to be a desperately uninteresting person and want you to exit my awareness as fast as possible.
the fact that i dont lie about my iq is what gives me the edge necessary to call you an inferior little girl who couldnt understand basic physics, and BE RIGHT ABOUT IT.
honestly if i woke up one morning and for some reason my thinking capacity had devolved to your level, it would take me less than 5 min to run to the kitchen and slit my throat...
maybe your going to tell me u work at goldman..
but ud still be way inferior, as is anybody who projects their iq to be higher than it is..
maybe thats the point, inferiorboy ;)
